13 years later most of the Mercedes engines are still running fine. Meanwhile 2 years after the video was made most of the M5 V10's spun bearings and most of the transmissions exploded😂😂😂
Mercedes aged awful… Bmw looks modern still. The only people who have spun bearings and destroyed transmissions are the ones that never do their maintenance!
@@dajerseyrat every 80k* and the ones that buy these car for less than 20k think that it’s a bulletproof car that has cheap maintenance…. It’s still a 100k car ur gonna have 100k car maintenance, doesn’t matter for how much u bought it for.
@@MBS.. nice story bruh. I'll stick with the MK113 that gets 250k miles with no bearing changes. Bearings changes are NOT general maintenance, that's called a design flaw.
@@MBS.. My 2006 CLS55 is at 197K and is still a beast, with the original engine and transmission. Buying a used 2006 M5 that runs is like buying a hand grenade with the pin removed.
I have owned the m5 for 4 years now. It’s the best racing experience. The noise the power is everything you could dream of but it can break the bank anytime. Going to get the cls next
Man, I remember when these cars were new and were featured on Top Gear and Fifth Gear. Great times. Very peaceful, and no idiotic thinking by the people in general.

I've had both. And a Lotus Carlton and XJR V8 and Cls63... it's the Cls55 I want again!
Pff ... you have a dream life. :)
Any particular reason you want the 55 over the 63?
@@UA-camCommentator. I'm guessing it's because it has higher low end torque, makes it more fun and more reliable.
@@UA-camCommentator. 516lb/ft of torque at 2650 RPM (and all the way up to 5000+ RPM)
Just bought myself a CLS 55, can't wait for the snow to be gone from the roads so I can enjoy it 😀
cars are 05', 06' cars.. video seems to be from 90s and narrator from 60s..
Which is very good, tbh.
Love the fact the v10 in a 5 series BMW wasn't a thing.
A V10 for god's sake!
Shame that v10 turned out to be an expensive turd.

The mercedes m113k engines and trans are bullet proof! Not hard to work on these engines and trans!
Love a m5 man, love to have a 2000 model in future
The same guy built my cls55 engine!
I also own an Cls 55. I love it, you too?
@@mevo7413 I loved my cls55 more than my e55s, if you dont modify the 113k platform, it is an absolute waste over a 6.2l.
Joseph I modified it a bit. With a smaller Pulley a Tune and Exhaust. It goes pretty ok i think, e60 M5‘s and 63 Amg‘s are slower. I tried it out.
