Just got me a xcr 600 as my first sled. Dirt biker since I was 6 so I’m hoping I can bring this thing back to life and have something to pull my ice fishing gear. Thanks for the video!
Hi Jacob- glad to hear it helped! I just sold off my 96, but I’m keeping our 1997 Indy Lite. Not fast, but easy and reliable for kids! Thanks for watching!
You're probably confusing it with the 2-cycle oil reservoir... because you can't see if all the oil is drained out of the crank case unless you take off the crank case cover... is which case all the oil would drain out without the cover.
Hello! So I’m not totally sure about your quad. Mine is a Honda and it doesn’t have a chaincase anywhere, but each gear differential (front and rear) has an oil pool that the gears spin in. Each should just have a cap on it and you fill it until the oil starts overflowing out the fill hole. That’s about all I know there. God bless!
End of 2024 and thia video still helpful for my 96 indy 500.
Thank you!!!
You’re welcome! There are still a few late 90’s machines getting good use, including my ‘97 Indy lite.
You are the MVP for making this video bro. Blessings to you. Thanks.
Hi Eric- thanks for the kind comment! I’m no MVP though. I have my share of epic fails! Just ask my wife and kids!
Thanks for the video! Not much out there on these older sleds
No there isn’t! We’re a smaller club every year I think! Thanks for watching!
Great.... Now I feel ancient. I bought a 1969 Skidoo... In 1969.
Thanks for the video gotta do this on my 99 340 xtra lite touring

thanks man! wasn’t sure how to do it mine 97 xlt 600 tourings been sitting for about 2 years oil is light brown and clumpy 🤣
Hey I own an Indy 500 swapped trailblazer quad. I was wondering if these have crankcase oil and if so how do you check and change it?
Thanks for the video. I just bought a 1995 Trail Lite and am checking it out. So, about how many ounces of oil go in that chain case?
Is there any other fluid we should change in the motor or is this it?
That’s it for a 2-stroke. Just keep filling 2-stroke oil in the reservoir and you’re good to go! Have fun!
Hey what about the oil reservoir do I fill that too?
Thank you sir !
Hi Duane Larson- you’re welcome! Thank you for the comment!
Hello. Do you have a manual for this snowmobile?
Hi @Leonid Trapeznikoff, unfortunately no. I don’t have the manual. You might be able to find one online. Good luck!
Oil doesnt all drain why
Not sure about that. Maybe try a small wire in the drain to clear out any obstruction.

My was to frozen I stripped the screw😭😭
Ouch! That’s not good! Sorry to hear it Hayden!
Use a torx T30 or T40 3/8 socket, pound it in the stripped hole, you'll get it that way
