Around 95, can’t remember the exact year but this was the first sled I had ever rode. Man it was fast. I wanna say it almost hit 100mph. I jumped it and rode all through the mountains all evening and late into the night. We went to an open cabin structure and started a fire far up in the mountains, near Idaho I think. It was probably the best time of my life….. and man the stars looked amazing in the Montana mountains. I’m from Oklahoma. You probably made my day with this video as I have been far too depressed these days to even consider I once had happy times. I can’t believe an Indy 500 is bringing tears to my eyes, thank you!
Growing up we had an old Ski-Doo Everest 340, then bought a new Summit 600 when I was in high school. Watching your video reminds me of all the good times we had! Thanks for sharing
It is so weird that I had one, but have nothing on the internet about it, and this video came up on my recommended videos page this morning. The great fun things that I used to do before kids and they took precedence for a different kind of fun. No regrets.
Nice setup for the track u have . I’m assuming that’s ur own property lol. But I’m kinda jealous because that’s awesome u got all that land for riding. I would highly recommend going out in the summer to go over everything that could damage ur sleds holes poles ect.! Fill everything in properly lol. Thanks for sharing buddy.🤣💪🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Got the indy 500 classic year 1999. Wouldnt trade it for a brand new one. Been to the shop 3 times since I got it in '06 and every time had nothing to do with the engine. Usually bearings and other small parts.
My friend will call me up every winter to go sledding with him, the sled he lets me ride is an Indy 500 in white he has an Artic Cat. I like the Indy better.
if all you want is a reliable sled to play on, there is nothing better than one of these or maybe a yamaha phazer. sure you wont get big air on jumps or get the ski's off the snow. but there is still plenty of fun to be had on one!
What did you have to mess around with? I ask because I'm looking at a used one and want to know what issues that are common with 97 inch 500. Any help would be appreciated

@Kirk Gulick that’s movin at 14! Probably felt like light speed!
I believe I was 14-15 at the time. I had been riding 2 stroke dirt bikes back home so this was probably 35-40 mph faster. Was so fun!
My 1999 500 will do 90 maybe more 80 was is fast as I wanted lol
Yeah I've hit around 95 mph on mine
I love these kinds of snowmobiling videos where people are snowmobiling around there town. Really reminds me of me n my cuzzin,
Glad you liked it! Check out some of my others!

I just picked up a pair of 1996 Indy 500’s. Owned a 95 EFI. Awesome smaller displacement sleds! Very reliable Fuji motors!

Very cool! Glad you enjoyed!
Good times. Still love the old low suspension sleds. I’ve owned a couple XCSP 500s. Very quick considering the cid.
Right on!
Those liberty 500s were 105 hp they'd beat most 600s of the day, they were beasts. Love the anniversary colors.

Such fun sleds, have had a bunch of phazer and love them too!
i used to have a sled just like this one, it was fun, but it didn't like to get running easily in the fall.
Same, I always have to do some messing around to get these old sleds up and running the first ride of the year.
