I just want to here this Motordyne exhaust rip again; just like old times! 😎
Luckily, I’m the one that tuned/calibrated my own G35 coupe; and ☝️I can revert back to stock when I want.
I believe that's a newer California law. Other UA-camrs in the state were talking about not being able to have modified/tuned ECUs. I'm in Oregon and shops have no problem working on tuned cars.
I didn’t know, thanks for getting me up to date!
Actually, it’s all 50 states that are not able to modify your factory ecu the EPA regulates all 50 states some states don’t have emissions but PFI dyno tuning that was in Colorado got in trouble for it and so did a lot of other dyno tuners on UA-cam
I've kept my G35 stock except for a bassani cat back exhaust. I might be missing out on 50hp, but it's already plenty fun for me
My 05 G35 6MT is almost completely stock. Now it's highly sought after because it hasn't been molested. It's quickly becoming a Classic Time Capsule.
@@stealthg35infiniti94 do you garage it? Mine has 90k miles and front bumper/hood needs a repaint. Not mint enough to be a garage queen, daily drive it. Could get it back to mint quality but would require time and $$$ that might not be worth it.
@@robertm5969 Nope, Even with miticulas paint care, the Florida Sun is starting to eat the clearcoat. I've done vinyl wrap on the rear wing as a temporary fix. Ultimately a complete respray will be required. At a 104K is still a lot of fun to drive. It's a perfect GT Cruiser not a Track Car.
Even mine the clear coat is coming off on the roof, it's so common on all Nissan's and Infiniti's of that era. My hood was repainted and my carbon trunk was cleared is why they look new. The roof on mine is starting to look like cancer now the clear coat is pealing so bad.
@@MotordyneG35 Have you ever had a P0420 or P0430? I've been chasing trying to fix it for a year now. I've fired the Parts Cannon with upstream Fuel Sensors, & MAF Sensor. I've smoked checked looking for Vacuum and Exhaust leaks. STFT near 0, LTFT near 15. I believe I'm down to a fuel injection or a bad Catalytic Converter. Any advice?
Congrats on getting the g back man. Ik this is off topic but have you thought about painting the calipers instead of wrap? Maybe adding some flake in there?
They are painted under the reflective wrap, stock silver Akebono Infiniti g37 calipers. I like them the color they are, which is a blue until any light hits them they become neonish blue.
I never did an upload on the install because the install was so quick before my move from Phoenix to San Diego that I did not record any of it.
Is the reason for not touching modified ECU is California Emissions Law thus a shop can be fined for altering possible emissions standards?
From other comments, yep it’s just California that is like this; I didn’t know.
@@MotordyneG35 You have moved to highly regulated State as far as engine modifications is concerned. You might now have a vehicle that it is Illegal and you might not be able to register in California. Check out the local laws.
Just don’t tell people you’re tuned. I work at Infiniti. We get people that are tuned all the time. It’s actually difficult to tell if it’s tuned or not. Usually you can’t know unless someone tells you. But they function essentially the same
The shít that happens at shops in California. 😂
So then it had nothing to do with the car being down for a few months right? Culprit were the coil packs
nope ecu had nothing to do with it. The aftermarket coilpacks instead of throwing a P0300 misfire code, throw no code at all. I get them because they are free from Oriely's anytime they fail with the lifetime warranty.
The first time they failed the car was just dying randomly with no codes. I decided hmmm, must be a bad batch of coilpacks because that was the last thing I replaced which only lasted under a year. Replaced them all for free and they lasted for 3 to 4 years before this happened. No check engine light and it was blowing my ECU fuse on the IPDM making me think I had a short in the wiring harness because the ECU I was unable to connect too.
The ECCS CONT and IGN fuse to be exact is the ECU fuse which is also connected to the ignition coils vs being seperate which is a dumb design. The ECU should have it's own fuse and not share it with ign coils.
Go to a shop that specializes in G/Zs or race cars they have no problem dealing with modified ECUs. Don't go to regular shops.
I came to find out this is only in California.
Take it to Saul Nismo Knights
Right!! to unique motorsports he will diagnose asap!!
Tyler - what other car would get? I was thinking about an E92 M3.
The E46 was a nightmare in regards to reliability. So many things went wrong with it, that I'm against owning another BMW. Yes, the E92 is a consideration for the v8. The S85 even more for the v10 sound. I was going to get an S65 for the v12, but decided to go with an American tuxedo. The turd hybrid 2017 Lincoln MKZ . I have 175,000 miles and never had to touch it on maintenance. Not even a check engine light. Absolutely nothing, that car is a bulletproof tank. Made me think again about ford motor company; how impressive.
Instead of buying another sports car to build, eventually I make the G35 my horsepower rocket. Just don't have the funds currently at this point in my life to keep dumping more money into the G.
@@MotordyneG35 Wait….so are you thinking to sell the G? Hopefully not, right? Just hang onto it till you do have the funds to build it.
I have two Mk3 Supras of which are my horsepower monster cars while the G35 I want to keep NA for a different kinda fun than boost.
What rims are those 😍😍

Only in California buddy! Someday you'll learn that California hates people with car mods! Move back to Arizona
Facts 🤙🏽 I used to live in California but unfortunately that is not the place to live if you wanna have a modified car . Way too many laws and having to do a smog every year … yea I’ll Pass 😅
I'm finding that out. I got an expired tag ticket with the car parked, actually 3 of them and the car wasn't even being driven. I have to drive back to AZ to re-register it to pass inspection there because I won't be able pass inspection here. California does not play around when it comes to writing tickets, especially in Del Mar, California.
Wtf you been ?????
In San Diego beach bumming. Are you still in death valley?
