Buell 1125R and Ducati 848 at Nelson Ledges Road Course

- Nelson Ledges Road Course, Ohio, July 29, 2018 (3 p.m. Intermediate Session). Join me on my 2009 Ducati 848 and Mike on his 2008 Buell 1125R for a few laps around Nelson Ledges Road Course. I dropped down from the Advance Group to check Mike out and to get footage for this video. The session was cut short due to rain, but we had a great time while we were out on the track.
Some of you may recognize Mike: He's the rider that I recorded at this same circuit back in 2013 tracking his 1973 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL. I still haven't figured out how he rides that beast around the track! On his Buell, on this particular track weekend, he was one of the faster Intermediate riders. I'd say Mike will be ready for the Advance Riding Group very soon!
Finally, those of you who follow motorcycle industry news, know that Harley-Davidson just announced some new models, including a new v-twin sportbike (975cc streetfighter), that will be available in 2020. This will be interesting to watch!

I saw Mike at Nelson July 4th! He thrashes that Buell!

I've got to get me one of to those GPR steering dampners. So easy to adjust on the fly. Awesome video man! 👍

Great to see a 1125 out on track! I was excited to see HD getting out of their comfort zone and building something different. Not too thrilled about all of the negative comments on social media but I hope the bikes will speak for them selves. I think this is an exciting time. Great riding, looks like a fun track.
Yeah, I'm always drawn to the 'rare' bikes at the track, and when my buddy Mike showed up on this 1125R, I was pumped! Regarding HD, I was excited to see their news about the sportbike, too. When I first heard the news, I was thinking 'Superport'; now that would be exciting! I might test ride the Streetfighter when it comes out, but doubt that I would purchase one. I need a bike that's built for the track...

It's got a Rotax engine ( Austrian) not harley.
I've driven the buell's with Harley engines too. Enjoyed very much too !
Great video ! I remember the old sportster, and Mike dragging his knee down on it ! I teched it one time and questioned the throttle not snapping back on it. Had to have Jason or someone give it the go ahead.

It is a fun track, Shane. It was re-paved last year, and that made an enormous improvement over the previous track. It is also considered one of the fastest tracks in North America. Thanks for viewing and commenting!
