I have always wondered what that white building with the red roof was. I think that you kind of explained but I didn’t understand what you meant. I want to visit LaPlata when the construction is done and I really want to visit the Look Out Point. Who ever operates that cam from the Lookout Point does an excellent job. Kudos to them. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching! Back when I recorded this video, a business called "Train Party" occupied that space. It's now gone. Now, the area winery uses it as a warehouse, and the American Passenger Rail Heritage Foundation, which owns and runs Lookout Point Park, has their offices there. As for the camera operator, most of the time it's @BovineMGR in the chat, or @Gunstar One. And yes - they do fine work - especially now that the PTZ is our only cam there. La Plata is truly a great place to watch trains. I've been going there since 1989, and went through the time in the 1990s when they thought they were going to tear down the station. And look at it now - being restored inside and out! And it'll all be ready for you when you do come to visit.
@@Bazoo-1968 Thank you so much for responding and answering my questions. I find this all very interesting. I watch LaPlata everyday, especially for the Amtrak #3 and #4. Looking forward to seeing the GEM ladies soon. Bob and Amy Cox do an excellent job of maintaining the depot and the safety of all the customers of Amtrak. Most of all, thank you Bazoo 1968 for all of your helpful and informative videos . I hope to visit with you all sometime this summer.

Is it possible to spend the night there?

Was that the Wabash freight or passenger depot
Open to the public??
Absolutely!
Where is the VR camera
Thanks bazoo
Can you walk in that area anytime ?
As long as Mr. Cox doesn't have it locked, yes. I have been in the Lookout as late as 11:00 p.m.
I think it’s Plata like the Platte River, not like plate.🤔
It is most assuredly Luh-Plate-uh.
There was so much graffiti I thought I was supposed to write my name on it sorry
We're the buildings the Wabash depots
Can you spend the night at the lookout?
I’d check with Bob Cox about that. It’s open 24/7/365, but it is not set up for sleeping.
@@Bazoo-1968 all you'd need is a chaise lounge and a blanket or two, not that I could ever get there....
