David Draiman of Disturbed, and ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo recently collaborated together to construct Device. The album takes strands from hard rock, industrial, and electronica, and as a result, Device's self-titled debut album for Warner Bros. Records is a focused, fierce, and fiery new machine.
It all started while the Grammy Award-nominated multiplatinum powerhouse Disturbed was on hiatus, Lenardo reached out to Draiman to collaborate on a song for the Underworld: Awakening soundtrack in late 2011. As soon as the singer heard the music, he was both intrigued and inspired. The duo then cut "Hunted" in Chicago. Even though the track didn't ultimately make the final soundtrack album due to circumstances beyond their control, Draiman urged that they hold on to it and continue writing music. Soon, they had an entire album's worth of material.
Upon finishing the record, Draiman enlisted Evanescence drummer Will Hunt and Dope and Rock of Ages guitarist Virus. Both Hunt and Virus jumped at the chance to be a part of this powerhouse trio. The three comprise the touring incarnation of Device.

I would think that Trent would be happy that people were doing covers. I would think ANYONE would be proud of someone doing a cover of their song. Its like a sign of respect :P

@@thehistorynerd8537 Gotta agree, Nine Inch Nails have some good songs but honestly, I hate most of their music due to the screaming and insistence to sound "cult af" and the pure edge. I have no issue with people liking them but for me, I can only stand a select few of their songs (and I do love those songs btw like Terrible Lie, Head Like A Hole or Closer) and wish isn't one of them, much prefer Devise's cover.

Device did Wish better than NIN and Linkin Park. This is supposed to be an angry song, and David does it much better. Everything about the new one is better than NIN. That's pretty dad. The original is always supposed to be better, but this is not the case.
Not really. Even Dillinger Escape Plan expanded the Pinion sounds heard on the original. This cover actually strips down the song making it bland, generic.

It sounds a bit half-assed. I'm not saying it sucks, but it could have been a lot better. Then again Device didn't really add anything new with the one album they made.

I don't see why people think Draiman is so great....I always disliked his voice, which is part of the reason why I never liked Disturbed (also because they sound like nu metal to me and thanks but no thanks) To me Device sounds just like Disturbed...but to each his own!

Linkin Park is a great band, and Chester Bennington (R.I.P.) will always remain as my favorite childhood singer, but as a Disturbed and Device fan, I gotta say this version is the best.

Linkin Park Bad singing and way to slow, and the guitar made me want to cry.

idk what it is but every cover of this song just doesnt have the energy the original had. Draimans vocals however do have that anger in it, much like Reznors. Linkin Park just failed on this song as a whole, sounded more like a middle school garage band covering it
