Happy Thursday! I hope you're having a great week so far! Today I'm sharing all of my favorite setting powders and a few that didn't work for me. Sunday's video will be all about my other heatproof, long-lasting makeup favorites including primers, foundations, concealers, and setting sprays! In the meantime, I would love to know if you have a favorite setting powder I didn't mention!
I've been using Maybelline fit me pressed powder.. i love it so far.. im interested in the No. 7 powders.. its drugstore but have heard so much about them. But they nvr have my shade when i decio get one lol..
My local sephora told me that they had a Too Faced representative tell them that the peach powder is the only item that will not be discontinued from the line.
Never I bought that powder in hopes it would work like the too faced peach powder and after a couple hours was sooo oily I was super disappointed because I see a lot of people saying this
Peach perfect is my favorite powder, too. The best alternative I’ve found is the Nikkia Joy Cosmetics powder. I believe she said in a video that she created it to be somewhat of a hybrid between Peach Perfect and Laura Mercier. You should give it a try!
I got the nikkia joy powder and it’s nothing like the peach powder I bought the nikkia joy powder in hopes it will be like the peach powder and I was sooo oily in just a couple hours I was super disappointed
I bought the flower beauty powder because of you and I love it! I just purchased another one. I have large pores but dry skin and it blurs without making my skin look dry. I love that you keep testing inexpensive options!
I totally love the Elf Halo powder as a finishing powder. The soft glow is so nice. It doesn’t enhance any of my texture or fine lines! I’m 58, soooooo👍🏼❤️ I definitely will be keeping it in my staples. Great recommendations as always Andrea❣️Thanks so much ☺️ I also love the No.7 Lift and Luminate and the LYS setting powder for under the eyes and T zone. Great blurring effects with these two!💕 I do want to try the Milani Prep, Set and Glow.
Essence has a dupe for the ud all nighter. It’s their waterproof mattifying powder ( I don’t know the actual name but know it has waterproof in it lol). I’ve been loving the fenty powder foundation but my go to powder foundations in summer are the mufe snd bare minerals. I heart revolution the peach powder is supposedly a dupe for the too faced. I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t give my opinion but if you do try please let us know your thought. I love the too faced setting powder.
I’m telling you, the Pür powder foundation is the absolute best! I’ve tried sooo many, and I love a few. Pür is the one I’ve repurchased over and over though. Highly recommend! -An Alabama gal 🥵
I love powder foundations in the summer! Laura Gellar is great, MAC studio fix, JCat aquasurance, and even the Sephora brand powder foundation all do really well on my oily skin.
I am also devastated that Peach Perfect is being discontinued 😢. But I also was curious about Nokia Joy. Is it available in the States or it has to be shipped from Australia?
@@sarahs7058 my first order with them came from Australia and then my last order said the US. Maybe there’s a new shipping facility? They have free shipping over $40.
Here's a old classic for powder foundation- the bare minerals matte loose powder foundation. That is like the only powder foundation I will use. It is so good, especially on oily skin. Looks so natural.
The essence powder is an absolute wonder!it’s so affordable! And it works magic for my normal skin in Singapore… I’ve gone through 2 of it, and got bored and switched, finally I’m switching back to it.
A great powder foundation is the J Cat Aquasurance powder. Either on its own or to buff in over a lighter coverage foundation. It's smooth & the best I've ever used!!! Definitely try it out. Thanks for the reviews xoxo 😘💕
One more drugstore pressed powder is the Catrice one, which is shine control water resistant etc. I also have the Cover FX loose powder which I find excellent for oily skin. And like you, I bought a backup of my ultimate favorite, the Peach Perfect one.
Great video. I have t zone oil. That's not the big problem. The big problem is that I live in S. Louisiana and it's so hot and humid. It's hard to keep makeup on my face right now. Thank you for the video.
i love your videos andrea! you do such detailed product reviews and i like how you review products after using them for a while. that's so much more helpful than first impressions. also, jsyk, the peach perfect powder is out of stock on the TF website :( i use the maybelline fit me powder or the hard candy translucent setting powder for my oily t-zone, and ELF halo glow powder for the rest of my face which is drier. i've used the UD waterproof pressed powder and idk how i feel about it, maybe it just isn't waterproof enough for my skin? lol
Absolutely love the UD all nighter pressed powder! My other favorite is the Beauty Bakerie baking powder (I don't actually bake with it, just press on with a damp sponge.) It's blurring and locks my makeup down. Also love the Bare Miinerals pressed mineral foundation. I wear it very often over the SuperGoop CC cream and I look flawless all day
Love this! I have oily skin and live in Florida, so powders are a must for me! I love the elf matte setting powder and maybelline fit me loose powder for a little coverage.
@@AndreaMatillano I’ve been looking for one too and I had no luck either. Nothing works like it. The closest long lasting powder I have found it’s the Coty Airspun.
I love the CT finishing powder for under my eyes and of course finishing powder, Huda beauty powder is great and omg Nikkia Joy's powder is amazing if you have oily skin then this is great and it smells amazing x
I really enjoy the Too Faced peach powder, that's a shame that they are discontinuing it. Am I right in thinking that a simple definition of the difference between a setting powder and a finishing powder would be a setting powder sets foundation & concealer whereas a finishing powder would be used as a last set after applying everything, blending everything together?
Try the Honest Beauty loose setting powder @Andrea Matillano. I heard that is very mattifying, so I wonder if is any similar to the Too Faced peach powder because both of them have Zea Mays (corn) starch as their main ingredient.
Definitely need to try the UD waterproof powder. It's been soooooooo hot here this summer (Montana). I've been having to use products I usually only use in August.
Love this video I think I'm going to try the urban decay all nighter pressed it sounds great. I feel like no powders I have are controlling my oily t zone well enough. I like a loose powder to set my undereye concealer, I'm wondering if the elf halo one would be good for that x
I am simply devastated. The peach perfect powder is a miracle worker for oily skin. I have 2 backups as well. I haven’t found anything that works as well. I don’t get why too faced had to get rid of the line. Why not have a base line for dry skin and one for oily skin 😭
Laura Mercier loose translucent setting powder. I CANNOT recommend it enough if you have oily skin. Very nice matte or blurred effect but so light weight and lasts all day for me 💜💜
Would you say the Urban Decay Powder Foundation works better for oily skin then the Bare Minerals Matte? I've been using Bare Minerals for years but lately my skin is even more oily than usual and I've been having trouble getting it to last, especially on and around my nose/t-zone. My skincare routine hasn't changed but I'm just an oil slick this year when it's hot out and I've been looking for a powder foundation that will last on me.
Yes! Perfect timing. I've tried so many in the past, but the only ones that have really worked for my oily skin are the KVD Lock It and the TF Peach Perfect.
Great video sister I think i will pick up the Elf glow powder. I have dry skin , texture and some wrinkles . I've wanted to try the Hourglass powders thanks for sharing !! 💞💛
I'm so 💔 over the TF 🍑 Perfect Powder, thanks to you it's my HG! 😭 I would love your thoughts on the Nikkia Joy powder , I have oily skin and all the powders I use and love are because of you!!
Thank for the videos and thanks for the Milani=elf option, just like you said I realized Milani is really accesible for me and know I can try the elf powder with the Milani dupe
@@AndreaMatillano Thank you so much, it really helps me with my own oily skin so i don't need to test everything and you always have a great balance between drugstore and high end recommendations ❤️
The TF is my favorite powder too. I've had pretty good luck with Ciate's and the Pretty Vulgar one too. I'd love a tutorial about how you apply powder foundation, it's intimidating to me. I know that might not be a popular video though.
Even though I have oily/ acne prone skin I love the way how the Maybelline Super Stay Powder Foundation and I love how it looks when I use it after applying concealer and liquid foundation.
One powder I loved when my skin was more oily was the Tarte Amazonian Clay setting powder. It comes in both pressed and loose. It's white so there may be flashback.
The Etude House Zero Sebum loose powder is the closest thing I've found that keeps up with the TF Peach Perfect powder. It isn't quite as blurring, but does keep me matte in the Texas summers 💙
I’m so upset about the peach perfect powder!! That was my go to and now it’s going away. I found a good alternative but doesn’t last as long. It’s the makeup Revolution peach powder. It’s only $7!!! So if I could only pay that much and have to touch up mid day I guess that’s fine. It gives the same effect as the peach perfect though just don’t last as long. But please let us know if you find something even better!
I can say that the No 7 lift &i iuminate powders are my favorite for finishing/blurring. I dont have a favorite setting powder sadly, though I do like the Too Faced Peach perfect matte one that you like.
I LOVE the too faced peach powder but since I’m SO SO fair it leaves an orange tint on my face. So I mix it with the nikkia joy powder and LET ME TELL YOU! SO GOOD
I just got my hands on the peach perfect powder in travel size and I really like it and now of course it is discontinued. This is so typical and sad that it's almost funny again 😂😅 As far as I know the too faced website doesn't ship to Germany right? I would have loved to pick up 2 backups of that powder 😅 Oh well... Other than that I like the essence translucent powder as well. I always have one of those at home in case all my other powders leave me hanging. Other than that I really enjoy the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in translucent and the elf perfect finish hd powder. Sadly I haven't come across a loose setting powder that I can really recommend other than the tf peach powder :( I have seen one that also had peaches on the lid but I can't remember from which brand it was or what it's called 😅 but i doubt that it's close the original anyway 🙈 Thank you for the video Andréa! 🥰
I like the fenty powder foundation. Thank you so much! I wished you would have mentioned how you like to apply them (brush, sponge, etc). I will try the ud all nighter pressed powder! Thank you again from an extremely oily skin girl leaving in humid super hot Florida! 😅
I feel the same way you do about the Kosas powder for my combo-oily skin BUT I’m really enjoying it on the undereye area 😍 My absolute fave is the Rimmel stay matte powder, but I’ve been searching for a replacement as I’m trying to go completely cruelty free! I’m always so tempted to purchase the TF peach powder but it’s SO expensive here in my country 😪 and now they’re taking it off 🥲
The Too Faced Peach Perfect powder is the only powder I use and I made sure to stock up so I'm good for the next 10 years! Still so sad they are discontinuing it 😥
For a forty year old I have a lot of wrinkles. I have got to try the too faced powder. I am tired of makeup melting off. I would appreciate some help. Patrick Ta vs Naked Honey which would you choose?
I’ve been wanting to get more into pressed setting powders I heard they’re better for setting your concealer under the eyes. Everyone says the No 7 pressed setting powder is a dupe for the Charlotte Tillbury setting powder but I’m not sure which one is the dupe. I have the Laura Mercier pressed translucent powder in my collection and it is not translucent at all! The only reason I’m getting any use out of it it’s because I use it to cut my contour sometimes and I’ve been using it in conjunction with my Wet n wild loose-setting powder since it is oxidizing all of my concealers. The Laura one leaves a white cast on the skin but I don’t mind if it’s under my contour for some brightening.
Hello Beautiful 😍 question,, why after I've liked and watched your videos and go back to watch it again it shows that I never liked it?? I hope that stuff doesn't mess up your ratings
Setting powder is to lock in your makeup (concealer foundation contour etc) so it stays all day and doesn't crease or fade. Pressed powder and finishing powder pretty much do the same thing which is blur lines and make your makeup look flawless and smooth. Pressed and finishing power are pretty much the same thing except one is compacted and the other is loose. Press is good if you're on the go, finishing at home and for details. If you have oily skin use finishing (loose) powder and dry skin use press powder. Press powder has oils in them so that on top of oily skin can make it look cakey so for dry skin pressed would help your skin's texture better
I also enjoy the honest beauty matte setting powder and wet and wild setting powder (I have it in translucent and banana). They’re so good, matte and smoothing.
I have an excellent recommendation: the Catrice true skin loose powder! That thing Is great! It sets but also perfecta the skin. But not recommend if you have dry skin 😊
Can't believe the Too Faced Peach Perfect setting powder is being discontinued. Have you tried the Nikkia Joy Velvet Finishing Powder? I wonder if it is at all comparable.
Powders are the hardest for me I need a good smoothing powder but my skin is normal to slightly dry and I also have massive pores and texture but never had oily or acne prone skin , I’m definitely at a loss as to what my skin needs and wants I know what it likes and dislikes but no clue what’s created the texture and huge pores I’ve always had them could just be my skin.
Have you tried the Wet N Wild Photofocus translucent powder? I use it to set and it keeps my pretty matte without looking dry. Not as good as the Too Faced Peach Perfect but a great powder at a great price

Smells like brownie mix. Barely. Not too much. Doesn't get cakey no matter how bad I screw up my foundation .

Please try the One Size Beauty powder! For me is a little better than the Peach Perfect Powder 🙈👌
Oh thank you for sharing! 😍 I’m definitely going to check it out now!
I agree about the UD loose powder. It is OK but the pressed is my favorite. ❌⭕
The j cat aquasurance powder foundation is amazing!!
Thank you for your recommendation! I will definitely check it out!
How do you apply the powder foundation?💜 btw I loved that video😍 my oily skin needed this!
I usually use a large buffing brush and really blend it into my skin! I sometimes will use the sponges they come with too. 💗
@@AndreaMatillano Thank you so much 😍 I was always wondering how to apply powder foundation but I’ll try that 💘
I'm rather new to makeup and I'm wondering what is the difference between pressed powder, setting powder and a finishing powder?
I wonder what shade of Flower powder a medium almost tan (olive/Latina) might use, any guesses? I would have never guessed you'd use porcelain.
Can U do a video on what good drugstore pressed powders to set concelears plz 😕..
Beautiful look and love the video!!!
Can't believe the Too Faced Peach Perfect setting powder is being discontinued. Have you tried the Nikkia Joy Velvet Finishing Powder? I wonder if it is at all comparable.
My dry ass skin has no business watching this video but here I am 🌵
😂💗 You’re the best! Thank you for watching!
The Patrick Ta powder is awrsome!!!
Is the new urban decay loose powder a replacement for the velvetizer ? I’m on my last jar and idk what I’m going to do to set my under eyes 😩
Honest Beauty makes a WONDERFUL mattifying/ blurring setting powder! And only $20!
Can we use de Urban decay all nighter as a powder foundation? Or the formula is for only setting ?
I really love essence matte waterproof powder in the summer. It really locks in my makeup all day. It’s amazing for late in the day touch ups.
I was just looking at that one online! I’ll definitely have to try it out! 💗
Have you tried the Elizabeth Arden blurring loose setting powder very very good and you can find it at TJ's sometimes
Have you tried the number 7 Lift and Luminate from Target where you can find it at TJ Maxx sometimes
