After watching dozens of your videos (sometimes repeatedly) and practicing at least three days per week on creating 'skin-like' looks while still wearing complexion products, yesterday was the first day I think I actually achieved that look. Three people asked me yesterday what I've been doing because my complexion looked so good. I've never gotten that compliment before, so THANK YOU for all of your help.
You're absolutely stunning! I love this kind of makeup - so flattering and understated. Just glam it up for night time with eye makeup and lips ...gorgeous ❤
I am 77. Your advice of less-is-more struck a chord with me and I tried to lighten up my application of my L’Oréal tinted spf serum I like. It worked! I spent a little more time, but it was well worth it. I used a dampened sponge too, and that was simply refreshing to put on. Thank you.
I'm a Brazilian girl and here we have the habit of using makeup so full of so many products that they end up hiding our natural beauty, your videos help me a lot to achieve beautiful and natural skin! Alexandra, your precision and care when explaining is very incredible, watching your videos brings me a lot of peace and comfort, I am a great admirer of your techniques, thank you very much and continue! ❤
I LOVE that you're so close to the camera. Not many influencers do that and I think it's very fake because we can't see their actual skin or texture. Very appreciative!
Yesss! It drives me nuts when people put their makeup on a mile away from the camera, or, they’ll do little tiny swatches of lip liner on the back of their hand really far away from the camera. I can’t see a damn thing when they do that. 🤷🏻♀️ I can barely tell what shade of liner they are showing
When I watch your videos, I remind myself to be gentle, and purposeful and have a soft but accurate touch when applying products. I tend to smash brushes on my face and be in a rush when applying any makeup. I enjoyed the tutorial!
This is a combination of some of my favorite things: watching someone build up a makeup look with a fantastic base, getting helpful tips, and highlighting affordable drugstore products!
Hi Alex. Was just watching an OLD (4 years ago) video you did on Foundations for olive skin and girl what a difference in your skin. She wasn’t born with skin this good guys she went out and fought for it. You are beautiful Alex, stunning, glowy and unique ❤
@@jenysanchezmI watch old alex videos regularly. I just love her real realness. And she's updated and changed techniques on soamy things. I look back at old staple products. I don't even do glam makeup but I love all her videos. She's top 3 for sure!
I've been utterly delighted to learn from you over the last year or so. You set your viewers up for success by sharing technique, and thoroughly explaining the "why" behind your approach. Thanks for the drugstore video, this is wonderful.
I just found your channel. And I must say I'm in love with it. Thank you. I'm learning so much about how to wear my makeup. I noticed I was putting on too much foundation. My face looked horrible. Sunk right into my wrinkles and I don't know why I'm seriously waiting too much. Your makeup looks beautiful.❤❤❤❤❤
You apply makeup like a painter in your understanding of dark, light, texture, detail work and color. Makes me wonder if you do other art besides cosmetic art. Thank you for your research on this!
Ok… this video is life changing!!! I followed the application instructions and it absolutely makes sense huge difference! I thoght it was my makeup that was looking patchy but it wasn’t! Its the order and sponge technique!! Thank you!!!!
I love how you demonstrate how LITTLE amount of product can be used and it be very effective. When you watch professionals the first thing I notice is how targeted and sparing the application is. And to watch you do it close up really helps remind me to be more thoughtful about application.
Because I am on the fair side, I never realized I was also olive undertoned until I saw your posts in the past and understood your struggle and mine. Now, you’re my go to person for makeup! Thank you so much for posting on this very misunderstood skin tone struggle!
I have dark undereyes too and i hate that grey shadow that happens with concealer. Amazing video and technique thank you so much for sharing i cant wait to try all of this!
Is it just me or do you have a nice, soothing speaking voice? Finally a makeup UA-camr I can actually watch without being distracted with the high-pitched voice or vocal fry.
“And these freckles… /Sun damage. I don’t wanna talk about it. “ Alex you are always entertaining and so beautiful, inside and out!! I seem to be wearing less makeup lately cause I’m breaking out 😢 but I still watch your videos for pure enjoyment!!
Loved this! I've never heard of someone mixing spot corrector, blush, and bronzer to make a perfect match. My age spots are where my blush goes so when I spot correct, it just hasn't been right. But now I'm definitely trying your method. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this video. To be able to teach in a calming way is a gift, that I believe only a true artist possess👌🏾. You show how to enhance your natural features in a delicate way. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 💕
LOVED this. Learned some things but also some products I haven’t really heard talked about. Would love an everyday full face of drugstore, but you could take up to glam for when your day is just like that. Also, because I think that you have a different eye for drugstore than anyone else I follow, so it’s not necessarily all about what’s trending, but it is about what works. Thanks Alex! Great video.
I so enjoy your videos!! I’m always looking to learn more and I think you’re an excellent teacher. And I full on LOVE your attitude… “double chin it up” “use my code. Or pay full price” I just love how real you seem🤩
You are the best!! Love these natural bases - could you do like a “in a rush/10 min base” routine? I want a kind of similar effect but for when i need to go quickly :)
Yes, please to the drugstore olive foundations! I am slightly less pale than you, and the light/light medium shade range seems to only offer golden or pinkish options. At least that I'm finding.
I actually started having left eye pain from smushing my cheeks into the pillow and wasn't even realising it. Once I stopped, so did the eye pain and blurry vision. Yeah, pillow pain is real. I like the design of that pillow because it is exactly like the chiropractic pillow recommended to me for my 3 cervical pinched nerves. It has a shelf for your head and cut-out space for your neck/shoulders. So comfy and keeps your spine in perfect alignment.
I appreciate you making this one. I’m kinda intimidated by make up and all the steps people take, and spending a ton of money on all the products to even start is daunting. I appreciate you making a drugstore edition
Her honest advice is awesome and her technique requires a delicate & patient application which I struggle with. I like fast, easy low maintenance make up. Wish her patient technique could be bottled 😉😘
I've been binge rewatching all your base videos lately, so I'm super excited for a new drugstore video! You are seriously my go-to online MUA and favorite youtuber 💕
Life changing! Immediately subscribed. I’m 32 and even though I’m not bad at makeup, I know that I needed to update my makeup skills to this “newer” way of doing it. I seriously haven’t been able to figure out how to achieve this “skin like” makeup that everyone else has and you are seriously my saving grace! THANK YOU!
Yooooo I got the AboutFace foundation. The F1Olive is the best matching foundation I’veusedinmyentireliiiife 😭 liiiiiike I was speechless. My whole life has changed. Thank you Halsey and Alex 😘😘
I started using elf color corrector in a slightly darker peach. My inner corner hollows are even more cool toned than Alex's and that product does most of the heavy "lifting". I don't even use lighter concealer there.
Love this channel. It's my go to when I am trying to learn how to do a specific technique. Its so nice to have a full step by step tutorial, rather than just some clips.
Yes, drugstore foundation video please! As a light olive girly I trust your recs! My favorite is Loreal Infallible Pro-Glow, I'm wondering if anything can beat it.
Perfect video on real skin that’s not filtered. And very pretty. I love this simplicity and less is better approach to makeup because honestly less is more when it comes to our skin. You’re not layering a ton of products . And minimally . Also you give us more than just one look . Eyes and lips cheek color . But this for foundation and concealer is wonderful. Beautiful.
You are like the best makeup youtuber ever, it almost feels like you are my best friend who is also really really talented and kind and teaching me what she knows!!!
Nice vid Alex! I like those Elf putty blushes. They have a new liquid (Rare beauty dupe) one too. But came to say the Elf Putty brush is really good for stippling on blush or bronzer when you don’t want to disturb makeup underneath.
Your spot conceal technique is like a magic and makes so much sense. Reallly wanna try it, but I ahve to recover my makeup collection first, lol. Love-love your videos, they always gives a lot of _understanding_, not just "do this".
Stunning skin! What are your thoughts on seasonal colour analysis eg. true spring, light summer etc? Apologies if you have covered this before but I'd be really interested to hear your views. And to hear what season category you think you would be x
I watched this video for a different reason, but you gave such great information that I now will change how I do my concealer. I don't use much concealer at all but struggle with what I do use. I feel like your technique will really change that struggle, thank you.
You have to try the wet and wild tinted hydrator. Another one of my UA-camrs is Morgan Turner and she turned me onto the six dollar drugstore product . Wow, it is incredible ! I put Armani luminous silk on one half of my face and the wet and wild on the other, and I could not tell the difference. The shade range is horrible. For example, I am a light neutral and the best match for me was medium tan. 😬. It is a beautiful, beautiful product similar to the IT CC Illuminator VERSION WITH THE AQUA LABEL.. maybe a little thinner and consistency. It’s a beautiful product and for six dollars it’s unbelievable! To be honest, I am a high-end makeup snob. I have never put a wet and wild product on my face or anywhere for that matter... My grandmother back in the 80s raised me on Estée Lauder and Clinique. My grandmother would never touch a drugstore make up item. 🤷♀️
Great look misses - love the whole layer thingy. Light hand required and takes a few goes to get the right balance but it does make all the difference. Appreciate you a whole lot ♡♡♡
She’s lookin’ FLAWLESS 👏👏👏 could you do a video on drugstore primers? I feel like you either get grip/long wear or a smooth/blurred finish, but never both. Would love to hear your thoughts!
you have such a stunning natural beauty! it is soooo comforting to watch. this is the first video I have watched, I am following and will be constantly looking for your new videos!! lots of love 🥰🤍
your video randomly popped out on my timeline and what makes me shock is.. apparently these are the techniques that im using when i do my natural make up! also i got some new tricks to spot conceal using blush and contour, thank you so much!
Can you do a video on what kind of lips look good on dry lips? Like should i use a lip primer or a chapstick under lip stick or gloss? I know hydrating lipstick and lip gloss is good but there is just so many choices. I need help thank you ❤
I have had to sleep on my back in a nearly sitting upright position due to health , my point is as a 52 year old I noticed a massive difference to my crinkles on my face and chest . Its very true , this pillow would save you a tonne on skincare 😂 and procedures that you might consider in the future . Take care of your skin now and you wont have to worry bout your wrinkles and crinkles when you get to your 50's and older .
This is one of my favourite of your videos. Your skin looks absolutely immaculate and so perfect, yet natural, I absolutely love it!. When you popped back on with your eyebrows done! Wow. Just wow. Thank you for such a useful video, bonus using drugstore products which you make look a million dollars! How would you do your eye make up and lips to compliment this beautiful look please? Sending you big hugs from me in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️
This was so helpful! One question, how do you do your brows after your makeup and keep it from messing up the rest of your foundation? I use a brow gel and clean it up with micellar water before I do the rest of my makeup but if I did that after my foundation it would definitely wipe it off...
So many good tips in this video. As I get older I find that I want to wear less makeup but want more coverage. I've been having a hard time learning how to use my higher coverage foundation in a light handed way. This is exactly the instruction I needed and can't wait to try it tomorrow morning.
14:36 what kind of colour would a cool toned person put there? I struggle with bronzer as a cool toned person but do I go for more of a rosy blush kind of colour or more of a blueish brown like contour?
I'm so heavy handed when applying my makeup, I love how you gently apply almost tickling your skin pure art, I'm definitely going to be watching this next time I do my makeup.. 💄
Amazing how you made everything look seamless... but I would rather sleep a little longer than having to get up extra early to go over all those steps... plus, I gotta get to work on time. 😊
Since you are the color expert, imho, I wonder if you would do an eye look for HAZEL eyes. Dominique recently did an eye look for brown eyes which was beautiful. I never see eye looks for hazel eyes. I love listening to you! Your voice is so soothing. ❤🖤❤
Gorgeous!! Trying to pick what techniques I can use to conceal the larger pores and smooth out texture on my very mature skin. You are amazing!♥️ I love the “so much less” appearance but wonder if it’s possible without me spending 2 hours on my makeup in the morning. What do you think?
I would love to see you do a video of using drugstore eye brushes compared to the sigma eye brushes. I have to get that sigmaE45 brush you recommended. Looking beautiful as always. I am learning from your videos. Thank you for your tips
You are SO good! Your videos, techniques, tutoring, & different looks are amazing! Thank you so much! You give me confidence to experiment & to feel good in the results!😘
The Loreal Infallible gives amazing coverage! I bought it after seeing another of your drug store makeup videos. I would LOVE a tutorial on how to make my small eyes look bigger while enhancing my green colored eyes.
She’s lookin’ FLAWLESS could you do a video on drugstore primers? I feel like you either get grip/long wear or a smooth/blurred finish, but never both. Would love to hear your thoughts!
In my opinion, having a healthy skin is key to any look. You can use high-end or drug store, if you don't have healthy skin they'll both look patchy and not good
Im so glad I found you! I have olive skin as well and its literally impossible to find a foundation that matches. Im a bit darker then you however, but in the winter I get pale. Ive always tried to color correct my melasma, and that has been trials and tribulations alone. I love the time you take in your makeup. Many dont realize makeup is an art form and if you rush through it... well it wont look as nice as if you took the time to blend. ❤
I just ordered everything you showed in the same colors (light skin Italian). I've never been able to find the right colors for me. I hope I can achieve perfect looking skin with practice.
Hey Alex! Can you make a video guide for foundation shades for a variety of olive tones? I am sure it would be very helpful to a lot of us olive girlies who don't have fair skin tone. Thanks a lot! ❤

This was so helpful! One question, how do you do your brows after your makeup and keep it from messing up the rest of your foundation? I use a brow gel and clean it up with micellar water before I do the rest of my makeup but if I did that after my foundation it would definitely wipe it off...
Can you do an eyebrow tutorial, I noticed your natural shape changed from your old video and they look amazing! Can you help us?
Please demonstrate how you did these fabulous brows. Perfection!
If I said it once I’ve said it 10 times, you are a true artist and exceptional makeup artist! You look so beautiful.

Girl you are already a Natural Beauty. You don't need no makeup at all. 💕💕💕
No one really needs makeup tbh.
You're such an artist. And refreshing as well.
Really enjoyed reading...
Since you are the color expert, imho, I wonder if you would do an eye look for HAZEL eyes. Dominique recently did an eye look for brown eyes which was beautiful. I never see eye looks for hazel eyes. I love listening to you! Your voice is so soothing. ❤🖤❤
Definitely here for the fair olive drugstore complexion recs! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I like your job so much.
Unreal how good her skin looks *chefs kiss*
Gorgeous!!
Trying to pick what techniques I can use to conceal the larger pores and smooth out texture on my very mature skin. You are amazing!♥️
I love the “so much less” appearance but wonder if it’s possible without me spending 2 hours on my makeup in the morning. What do you think?
I would love to see you do a video of using drugstore eye brushes compared to the sigma eye brushes. I have to get that sigmaE45 brush you recommended. Looking beautiful as always. I am learning from your videos. Thank you for your tips
Skin looks great and those earrings are so pretty 😊. Thanks for all the skin care tips.
Yes! Drugstore!!! Thank you ❤
Any tips for makeup for eyes that tear up frequently?
You are SO good! Your videos, techniques, tutoring,
& different looks are amazing!
You patience and blend is amazing, I get in such a hurry and sometimes just pack makeup on.
She’s lookin’ FLAWLESS could you do a video on drugstore primers? I feel like you either get grip/long wear or a smooth/blurred finish, but never both. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Wow I’m 59 and you’re a joy to watch. Excellent tutorials ❤beautiful lady. Sooothing for sure 👍🏻
Yes!! Over-hydrating and not allowing my moisturizer set always causes my makeup to break up and get cakey on my nose.
It is incredible...
Watching you delicately and carefully blending all your base on makes me realize I slap all my makeup on my face, blend, and hope for the best 😅
Babes, do you have videos about the home maintenance of the shade of your hair? Its always so good.
Thank you! I don’t but I can do one!
@@AlexandraAnele Lovely :)
Ooh yes! With models would be so helpful too :)
Watch her last video! 😍 it was very useful for me
