Very nice. Been thinking about playing with a parry build. Is the buckler you use better than the AoW parrys? Also, does the new tear work in builds like this? Doesn’t it allow to parry using a weapon block or something?
when you equip any non-standard parry on a shield (carian, golden, thops's, storm wall), the base parry of it no longer matters, and all shields will work the same. So whether you put, for example, carian retaliation, on a buckler or a medium shield makes no difference. Carian and golden parry have BETTER parry frames than the buckler's "natural" parry. So the buckler being used here is just an aesthetic choice. The new tear you're talking about doesn't count as a parry, it just lets you block things really easily if you time the blocks. It also gives you a buff to the next guard counter for each consecutive "perfect block". It's just a different playstyle entirely

This is the pboss that made me give up on my first "no spirit summons" attempt. Now watching this... there really is always a way to git gud.
alternativly you can abuse her blindspots that most of her attacks have, both jumping and crouching are effective

@@lred1383 the bucklers parry comes out faster than anything else but one or two of the others have more parry frames

carian retaliation works like a normal parry on non-spells??
always has been. If you parry a spell you get the 3 blades, if you parry a physical hit, you do a regular parry.
im not a fan of parry so i whent foe to conterattack it's less smooth but it work well 😅
