Chigg - I know you ain't the kind of guy to care anyway, but don't listen to these people saying this is "boring" or "go back to metal detecting". These Alaska videos have been fantastic and the fact that you went through so much effort with equipment and filming to share all this with us is just unbelievable. I love watching your videos. Thank you!
Really interesting! My old Army buddy lives 90 minutes north of me, here in NH. He claims that people always are panning a river near him, every summer, so we will try detecting there and maybe try some panning. I had no idea how to do that, until watching your series of videos on it, so THANKS VERY MUCH! I wish you gold in your bucket!
Panning for gold provides all the anticipation and suspense that you are known for! But it would be hard on this old man's back! Thanks for taking us to Alaska!
i like that you explain what your doing ....great for the newbies...i am rookie level still but i know my panning technique but i could still learn a few tricks
Good video enjoyed watching thanks going out soon in the Lead hills here in Scotland soon to do a bit of panning so looking forward to that...stay safe and well.
Great vid, hey I was a wrench for a few years and I can tell ya this. I used to bust up my hands until i started using mechanic wear type gloves, it works somehow to afford you that little bit of protection and if you buy nice ones you dont take them off till the end of the day, i used to have those big leather work gloves with the cuff... on and off cause no dexterity etc...
Thank you Chig for taking the time and being so thorough in explaining. Did you see that mouse run across the camera lens? 36;02, and another big one i missed the number. Do you eventually give the total gold haul? thats what everyone looks forward to on them gold mining shows.
another great video chigg u make me feel like am right there with you doing what you are doing so thanks for that and see i told you Ricky would lead you to the gold
Good vid waiting my turn to get to Nome. That high banker looks a bit steep.if your not catching the gold level out that highbanker a bit. 1-2 inches of drop per foot. you want a flow of water over the riffles not water falls or air bubbles, a smooth wave. the gold will not drop through the air bubbles. more water will help too. Good Luck
It really is a shame that your videos only go back 5 years just by luck this one popped up I tried to go back to see the rest but alas only 5 years was as far as it went and this one was from 7 years ago sigh…. Really enjoyed this one wish I could have seen the others. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
Love your video adventures but have a question. When was the last time you double panned your concentrates to see just how much you are getting the first time around? Or does it make any sense for you to do so? Isn't that how we learn to do better then just taking our own word for it?
Malakoff Diggins State Park in California is a perfect example of hydraulic mining during the CA Gold Rush. Changed the landscape of the area to this day.
Awesome video, as usual. You are correct in saying that everyone has their own technique for panning. What works foryou may not work for me, so.........develope and practice. That will make 'perfect. See ya in the next one.
Back here in ohio we don't have the gold to pan in the rivers and streams. One way I practiced was I tossed 3 pieces of #8 lead shot in with some sand from along a river. Panned it out. Luckly I found all three pieces of lead shot my first try!
Do love your videos man, if you're looking to move more material without all the noise and stink of running a highbanker you should use a river sluice, wont get as much gold but its a hell of a lot more relaxing haha. Cheers from the other side of the globe buddy!
I have a fantastic new panning technique. Sit beside Beau and catch everything he drops. You'll be drowning in gold after a short while. 😂 That said; I love seeing Chigger in my sub box.
When I was in college back in North Carolina, when gold was about $35 an ounce one of my professors took us out to a local stream and showed us what he said was gold. There was more in that little stream then all you found Chigger. You went all the way to Alaska and you could of found more near where you live.
Shoot. You must be getting close to 80-90 years old then. 65 years ago there was alot more gold to be found everywhere. Society has since cleaned out streams the way they were from back in your day.
Les Paul In 1934, Congress passed the Gold Reserve Act. It prohibited private ownership of gold in the United States. It also allowed President Roosevelt to raise the price of gold to $35 an ounce. Hence why I said the numbers I did.
the coat your wearing looks like what i m looking for! what is it! where did you get it ? been watching for couple years. this is a great series. thanks
Hello aquachigger I happened to stumble upon you video. I enjoyed watching your video. You should weigh the gold flakes and see how much you get out of every dig. I believe it will be more thrilling if us viewers can be part of the dig. Happy subscriber and enjoyed learning from your video 😎
looks good that solid terrain hides er butt bellow that dert you got diversity soo a prospecter can feel all them depths they sayy over yonder some times bad feellin two more good days lookin
When forest fire fighting and the water is low we just out ever green bows down and out the foot valve on it .given they don't have evergreens they could just use those low bushes or even take some of that old metal and put it under the foot valve to prevent sand from being sucked up.
We have decided that you definitely need one of those Aussie prospector hats with the corks on strings all around the brim. That will keep the little pests away - either that or industrial strength DEET......
Hey man. I live in Pennsylvania and Im just beginning. I'm running into a lot of white sand in my pans. I have gotten a few specs of fine gold but do you think I'm better off using a slice and blue bowl set up
I used to work on the North Slope of Alaska. Mosquitoes can survive living in the permafrost. I witnessed mosquitoes emerging from the melting permafrost in a ditch we were digging, thousands of them.
What was that Walking in the Background at 39 Minute mark after you washed out the HighBanker when you said this is the Concantrate was that a ghost walking
Boo- Yaa... Great CATCH... NOW... For maybe an even "Odder" curiosity... NOTE: The Sunlight is in the Chigg's face... (Soooooooooo... The Sunlight SHOULD Be bathing the Mystery Individual...) BUT... He's either wearing completely black clothes... OR... Could it be the "Old Miner" from the "Haunted Miner's Cabin"... Downright 😱CREEPY😱... Either way...!?!? BUT... Then again... It may have just only been Bruce on a "Reconnaissance Mission" (Along with Dressing the Part), to see if Chigg was Taken "HIS" Gold... And, was sneaking back to the Cabin to Sharpen His Knives & Machetes... 😲 Haha...??? (GULP!!!)
Not only does breaking up the ground release food for fish holes also create micro ecosystems for tiny aquatic insects and bugs and the fish know how to keep their spawning nests clean. Now that being said he was there in June and the king salmon is the only one that that runs in June but they don’t SPAWN UNTIL JULY NOT ONLY THAT BUT HE WAS FAR ENOUGH FROM THE RIVER THAT HIS DISCHARGE FROM THE HIGHBANKER NEVER REACHED THE RIVER SO GO BACK TO YOUR MOMS BASEMENT GET ON YOUR COMPUTER AND LEARN FACTS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO MAKE TROUBLE FOR PEOPLE DOING THINGS CORRECTLY. and last I checked salmon aren’t on any endangered species list otherwise they wouldn’t let fishermen catch them DURING SPAWNING SEASON. Thanks for your comment hopefully you learned something from it with this reply

39:04 something starts walking in the frame in the very top left hand corner and walks into the shot, was that a Bigfoot?
Good Eye ! Dang what was that ?
Great video very interesting video Thanks Beau.
These videos are really sweet!
Dont bother with the negative crap people say on your site all your vids are brilliant

Good example of it in the movie Pale Rider..
Yes. Great example of hydraulic mining and a GREAT movie. ;)
Nice explanation of panning, thank you

You're the man chigg !
Do you use the detector to check the tailings pile when you're done, just in case any nuggets get through ?
Okay Chig. Got to admit it, I fast forwarded the video because, I had to see the color!!! Something about that damn gold I guess!!
After watching several of your gold searching videos, I highly recommend that you don't quit your job.
When I was in college back in North Carolina, when gold was about $35 an ounce one of my professors took us out to a local stream and showed us what he said was gold. did any one see the thing moving left to right about 39:03 to 39:14 at top of screen?
Holy Yeti
Very informative! No Bullshit! great video. Thanks

Ever think of looking at SAT maps before you go to that camp?
Hahahaha I smacked my computer screen reacting to the mosquitos...yup I'm from Alaska
What was that crossing in the background at 39:09
look at the top left hand corner of the screen at 38:59 - 39:11... is that big foot?
Who is the person at 39:00 in the background ?
We have decided that you definitely need one of those Aussie prospector hats with the corks on strings all around the brim. That will keep the little pests away - either that or industrial strength DEET......
This is a dream! I’d love to go panning, BUT those mosquitos would drive me nuts!!!! Not enough OFF in the world!
At 39:00 I don't know if it's some one you know behind you but at the top left there is a person walking behind you
YOU NEED YOUR OWN TV SERIES
I wish chig would notice the comments about the mystery person @39:04 in the top left corner. I keep checking back here! Lol
Hey man. I live in Pennsylvania and Im just beginning. I'm running into a lot of white sand in my pans. I have gotten a few specs of fine gold but do you think I'm better off using a slice and blue bowl set up
Where were you working as a teacher before the innerweb? Been watching your videos long time and they are all informative. Thanks.
Your Videos are awesome BIG like🙂👍
39:08 did anyone else see something/ someone moving in the background?
I used to work on the North Slope of Alaska. Mosquitoes can survive living in the permafrost. I witnessed mosquitoes emerging from the melting permafrost in a ditch we were digging, thousands of them.
Something spooky walking behind you in the tall grass at the 39:06 mark
What do you do after you have it in the sucker bottle
THERE WAS A SAMSQUANCH at like 38 minutes in the background!
Is there a way you can here videos released in order?
Nor negative, just wondering as I'm following as released.
.not in order😁
What was that Walking in the Background at 39 Minute mark after you washed out the HighBanker when you said this is the Concantrate was that a ghost walking
What is the Law on mining and dredging up in Alaska can you do a video on that one
Love your videos!!!!

Love your channel, if you have GOLD FEVER you should contact some of the Aussies, they have detectors down pat for GOLD!!!
Or if you just want to get rich!!!I mean RICHER!!!
Congrats ahead of time for Hitting ONE MILLION SUBS!!!
39:06 Who's that in the back
Boo- Yaa I saw that too, I had to go back and make sure it was not a bear!
Boo- Yaa...
Great CATCH...

(GULP!!!)
Bigfoot! hehe
I’d love if me and my wife could go do that. I wonder if TN has some gold in it??? I’ll have to check and see.
When the material is in that fluid state, it is either called soil liquifaction or soil liquifacation
Not liquifaction. That is associated with seismic activity.
great video enjoyed it
There be gold in them there rocks. I soooo need to go to Nome 😆😆😆 thanks for sharing 😆
I cant retire on the gold in my river, its just being outdoors with nature and acting like a old timer that keeps me going out time and time again.
38.58 Chig, What was the black mass walking thru the brush behind you?
Bigfoot
Andrew Francisco
It was a Samsquach.
What's the effect of silt and clay on salmon spawning gravel beds?
Not only does breaking up the ground release food for fish holes also create micro ecosystems for tiny aquatic insects and bugs and the fish know how to keep their spawning nests clean. Ask your friend there about the "tap tap tap" method of separating gold in the pan from the last of the black sand.
