Very misleading video saying it is "mostly plastic". *The main base and tower are stainless steel.* Some colors may be "powder coated" which is a thin plastic coating and the narrow black strip which rests on the counter is plastic, but it's mostly stainless steel construction.
No, I agree with her. They definitely feel more plasticy than you expect according to their price and design. I'm glad I touched one in a store before buying.
The Aarke Carbonator 3 is definitely mostly metal construction. Most of the non-metal is either rubber or silicone gaskets or pieces to buffer sitting on the counter. I’d guess it’s less than 3% plastic but I have not completely disassembled it so I’ll round up to 5%. Sodastream on the other hand is almost exclusively plastic.
@@solsmed1144 You "agree" with her? What does that even mean? It IS made of stainless steel, that's a fact, not something you can have an opinion on... That's like saying a car is made of mostly plastic because it "feels plasticy". Sorry but your comment makes zero sense.
I have a SodaStream. Like it alot except for the CO2 costs. For a while I had an adapter and used the canisters for paintball... only $5. Though, back to the SodaStream exchange thing. Sounds like they are more expensive on the replacements, and Sodastream has relations with a few common stores to exchange the tanks.
I was excited to purchase the Aarke carbonator machine, but it has been nothing but a headache. The O-rings keep getting damaged, and even after replacing them once, the machine leaks gas everywhere. There's virtually no information online to help fix these issues, which is incredibly frustrating. When I contacted the company, they just told me to order spare O-rings and replace them again. This time, the O-ring is fine, but the machine is leaking from somewhere else, and there's no guidance available on how to fix it. I'm really fed up with the machine's lack of reliability and the inadequate customer service. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Aarke carbonator based on my experience.
@@ErinLawrenceTV It's powder coated stainless steel, not plastic... It even says so on their webpage. Really weird thing to get wrong for a product where the design and material is the main reason to buy one.
Great video, the metal design of the Aarke and the fact that people say the Aarke uses all of the cartridge vs the soda stream that often leaves co2 in the cartridge makes see the Aarke as a worthwhile investment.
Erin, there's another UA-camr who's using your voice (audio portion of this review) in their review video. Look up Glenda Bowers. It felt like déjà vu when I was watching her review as it was your voice! It's sad that people copy the work of others to pass off as their own. 😡 Just thought you should know.
Happy New Year to you and your family (2 and 4 legged) and greetings from 2023. Based on the price tag, I thought perhaps this review was originally scheduled for the 1st of April.
So, basically it's a Soda Stream for about triple the price. Oh, and no matter what cylinders you use, you will NEVER get 60 litres of carbonated water from a tank, unless you are happy with a very light level of carbonation. If you like a decent level of carbonation, you will be lucky to get 30 bottles out of a tank.
I got mine because the Soda Stream doesn't have low enough clearance on my countertops to fit under my cabinets. Also, the Soda Stream looks like garbage.
I love the look of this machine, but I prefer the idea of the Sparkel (but that one on your review is very unattractive to sit on a countertop). Thanks for the review.
It’s mostly made of PLASTIC?!! I’ve been wanting to get one of these because I thought they were all made of metal!! Because of that thought I had justified the higher cost… so I basically almost got “got.” Lol Thank you SO MUCH for the heads up here.

Was just about to say that. Basically its an all-metal construction.

Awesome video, honestly I’m sold.
Hope you enjoy it!
I think the other colors are mostly metal. I have the sand color and it is metal.
Not sure a reviewer can be trusted that gets basic information about the product incorrect…

That's too bad, I'm sorry to hear that and appreciate you sharing your experience.
Other reviewers and Aarke claim an all metal construction
are you sure it is made of plastic? mine is stainless steel.
Very sure.
You shouldn’t have picked a white model. Mine is 100% stainless steel also. And has no colour.

question: I notice some water sipping out through he upper seem in the main body on machine .. is this normal? Thank you.

"So is it worth it." Fixed it for you. We all fat finger when typing. 😁

Thank you so much for letting me know about this, Scott. I greatly appreciate it and will take care of it. :(

My pleasure 😇
It is metal. Depending on the color - the color is powder coated. Which powder coated is plastic.
plastic bottle 😖
