The section from 2:33 culminating with the fill at 2:40. That right-hand fill across the toms!! Such confidence and swagger. Love this guy. Joyous drummer.
this epic guitar solo and the rhythm part between 1:55 and 2:35 is phenomenal. For exemple the way he touches the hi-hat at 2:05 is priceless. 2:22 Why use this crash cymbal at this precise moment? The notion of rhythm is totally different between his head and yours. An ultra precise, colorful and so musical construction. Akira is a genius!
Been listening to Akira's songs, casiopea, and a lot more Japanese jazz fusions, Acid, funks. But this song always remind me of Metal Slug X mission 3 😅🤣
I'm loling that everytime someone hears Jazz/Fusion they compare it to Nintendo...did anyone ever think that the composers of Nintendo music are influenced by Jazz?
@Moog167 i always do as well but it's because it reminds me of nintendo games that i love this kind of music so much. I remember the first time i listened to a jazz fusion song it was Omens of Love from Casiopea vs T-Square. I remember thinking this sounds like a cross between Mystical Ninja and Sonic the Hedgehog music. GOOSEBUMPS. That was two years ago and now i have over 100 fusion CDs about 70 of which are Japanese.
Well it's not on Mario Kart but a friend of Akira Jimbo's has this same song on his album but Akira's Version is better Akria's friend name is Hiroyuki Noritake and his album "Dreams can go" has a cover of Cyber City Slicker

In true Casiopea fashion, that fill doubles exactly the intricate melody as well. As most of the track does !
