There is another video here on UA-cam with a different method for doing this. I tried it even though I've only had my new 2022 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback for just over a week. I was just curious since the fob is different than the previous one for mine and other Hondas. I had changed the battery on my previous fob for a 2019 Honda CR-V about 6 months ago. Opening that one and changing the battery was much easier in my mind. It looks like they may have made it purposely harder to do on the new one.
I was not getting anywhere and actually bent the plastic with the advice from the other video.
This one is more straightforward and a better method for my money. It's not easy getting a screwdriver in there, but I CAREFULLY put the blade of a utility knife in there and then slipped in the screwdriver behind it. This makes more sense and is less problematic than the other method. Don't ask me why I wanted to know how to do this just a week after getting the car and fob, but now I know for the future. Kudos and a solid approach. Thanks.
