Alex will probably not race. Anything. He has said that even Strava tracking annoys him, because it takes an enjoyable ride and exposes the “flaws.” Competition just isn’t his brand of fun.

When I see stuff like this it's just mind boggling to me the ingenuity that people have to be able to build a trail for recreational mountain biking purposes, all the way up the side of a mounting to the top. Digging out a trail, building berms, jumps, wooden features, rock features, etc., etc., etc. and this isn't even all of the trails at Whistler. Look how much trail this is that they had to build by hand, it's insane.
Then not only that, but they have to maintain the trails after they build it. The amount of work these people put into the trails blows my mind.

In all honesty, the hero 7 in the chin is looking way better than the gimbal. Also does slightly more justice to the trail.

Wow Brian, This looked surprisingly good, just the right amount of rawness yet still smooth enough. There was a tone of boulders out there looking for hugs ! I think that you've got to get some BKXC bobbleheads made up to sale now because apparently your'e a human gimbal ! Watch out Evo, (BKXC Gimbals) coming to a trail near you ! Great job kid !

Brian, I enjoy the gimbal footage for its cinematic views but the chin mount shows the grade and texture of the trail so much better. Please don’t use super view. It distorts and increases the Gopro effect to the point that we can’t tell how steep the trail is. Your current FOV is the best I’ve seen on a chin mount. Just tilt that camera up a little more and we will be able to read the trail with you! Awesome job!

Great run bud. I thought you were hauling serious butt until that dude past you like you were standing still. It's mind blowing how fast people can take those trails. That guy should be racing in a different league. All that said, if I were racing I'd probably be last, I'm just getting into mountain bike riding after almost 20 years and I'm no where near as good as shape as you are. Great job Brian, I liked the chin mount as well. The microphone on it isn't as good as your other rig though. Good luck.

The elephant in the room.... CHIN MOUNT BABY!! LOVED it. I will say, it would be even better if you add a short extension so that you get just a little more of the horizon, but I enjoy that far more than a gimbal. Curious...was that wide or superview? Cornering. Watch the footage back. You can make up a crap ton of time if you move your braking points back a bit, enter at a controlled speed, and roll through the corner with momentum. At times, you braked all the way through the corner. Getting the bike back up to speed is a lot more tiring, and you will lose time even though you feel like you enter the corners slower. I fight that too. You rode the gnar and chunk great, and the chain drop sucked. I didn't pay close enough attention, but the One Up chain guide is a good one if you want something light without a bash guard. Definitely needed for enduro. Your fitness is your weapon. You can pedal all of those flat spots, and recover some on the steeper parts. I think you paced yourself more like an XC race and let some time get away from you. Just speed up your corning, where you were losing time, and you'll smoke those dudes next year! ;-) GREAT VIDEO!!! LOVED seeing how stoked you were after the race! That's what I miss about enduro racing....none of my friends race, which takes most of the fun out of it. You had a whole crew, which had to be a BLAST!
