Its only taken 34 years to find lut what this track was & just stumbled on it by accident !! Only ever heard it once until now but for nostalgia which i wont go into ive hummed it a million times - life is conplete :)
A big hit in the UK, reached number 7 in the UK singles chart back in 1990. It's one of those songs that people have forgotten about, but for me it's a classic with the Art Of Noise sample and others.
I totally agree. I never forgot this track and had a clear memory of how it sounded (with the help of the Art of Noise sample) since it's release, I only forgot the song name and artist. Had been searching for years for this track and thanks to Google, typing in "tracks using moments in love and milli vanilli samples" found this gem for me again.
I got bunch of vinyls of around 90's start (and early) - 500 of them - hip hop and house and stuff like that, listening the loot in youtube (I don't have decks, yet) - so many gems i never knew they exist!
Life was simple then. Music was changing. To be honest dance and electronic music hasn't moved on , it was revolutionary no xbox , kids were happy , music was positive
OMG!! I remember seeing this on top of the pops and never heard it again or got it out if my head. Nearly 30 years later I found it!!!! Jeezus! I wish I could find the top of the pops "live" video.
Yes as mentioned before, so many samples in this classic, my mate back then used to say, what a depressing track, I was like wtf, this a funky, jumpy, bumpy track, on a journey. 💥👽🚀🛸
I missed this 1st time round and only found it by luck when going through several Deep Heat albums in 2015. At age 46, I still go clubbing (house/trance) in 2024, and love chilling out to soul / R'n'B in the early hours after clubbing. Another great example like this is I Love Your Smile by Shanice :-)
I've always thought a lot of this track, Moments In Soul. One of the first record's I bought, I always remember the first time I ever heard it when I was in a local record shop and heard the amazing, gripping, haunting beat.
These types of record songs what I called multi samples mixes should took off back in the early 90s..It never reached its peak..Hopefully in the future it will happen...
I first came across this classic re mix of art of noise, soul to soul sample track on a brilliant music video only program called "The Chart Show" in 1990. I'm glad they played it, after I watched the video I immediately ran down to hmv record store to order it! Pure class this remix. Rest in peace The Chart show. Regards.
Rewind back to 1990 this clever 2 samples Soul to Soul and the Art of Noise by Italian dance band JT and the big family Moments in Soul did well on the Rave dance floors back in the day
Trevor Williams It reminded people the greatness of Art Of Noise, Moments in Love, SOUL2SOUL Back to Life, i can’t find the song that has the sample / lifting of the lines “so what are you doing back... I really mean that much to you?” Must be a chick flick or made specific for this great Sample/reworking, mid 2000’s UK tv ad for Jacobs Creek used Moments in Soul brought me back to Art Of Noise & Moments in Soul, great track, listen to both every other day, Take me back ( like black mirror ep. white xmas )
@@johnd1466 the lines "So what are you doing back, I really mean that much to you" are from the video of Milli Vanilli-Girl you know it's true, right in the beginning

Yes. It was the same producer who did the remix of "King of my Castle" by Wamdue Project which became popular in 1999. Mauro Ferrucci "aka" Roy Malone.
Not ripped off, it is sampled from Soul to Soul with the copyright owners consent of which he/she will be getting a large chunk of the royalties so I don't think you'll see too many complains there. :-)

I remember raving all night and when I got home the radio stations were playing this, Back To Life or Tom's Diner.

There were quite a few 1990 songs with "Ah Yeeeah" in them.
Yes, indeed there were.
So Good !
Very good
I had that Jean Paul Gaultier newspaper t-shirt 😊
special
Where does the "what are you doing back?" and "I really mean that much to you" bits come from? Is it from a film?
The vocal only intro on Milli Vanilli - Girl You Know It's True.
DELICIOUS 💟💖💟
Brilliant song, great beat, but where in this song, does it say Moments In Soul, they don't even sing that to the video, well yes,it would be nice.
