I have a unique relationship with the Moon compared to most people. I'm 58 years old and have worked the Midnight to 0800 shift since June of 1992. The Moon, the Stars and the Night have become a "friend" of mine. My job keeps me up all night, every night and that gives me a unique feel compared to 98% of people. I often imagine what ancient men must have felt about the Night since I'm out in it 300+ nights a year. I'd bet the plains Indians 35,000 years ago had some very insightful, if not provable, theories about the Stars, Moon and Planets. Just thinking out loud...

Since the video was made, it’s been discovered that water ice is formed when hydrogen from the solar wind flows into craters and bonds with iron oxides.
it's not limited to craters because it's about solar winds interacting with regolith and it's not even water because it's hydroxyl, known to damage living cells : when protons in the solar wind strikes the moon, they interact with electrons in the surface to become hydrogen ( H ) atoms -> these atoms then migrate through the surface and latch on to the abundant oxygen ( O ) atoms bounds in the silica ( SiO2 ) and other oxygen-bearing molecules that make up the lunar soil, or regolith -> together, hydrogen and oxygen make the molecule hydroxyl ( OH ), a component of water, or H2O => making water from this step will take a lot more research ;)

A theory about the moon's formation that I recently learned in my Astronomy class was that a mars-size object 4 billion years ago collided into the Earth, thus taking off a part of the Earth. This chunk of debris then drifited off into space until it eventually formed a massive size rock with craters, valleys, and mountains that are similar to Earth. This chunk became known as the Moon. This is only a theory. It has never been proven, but I thought it would be interesteing to mention, since it pertains to the video.

Most Astronomers still believe that this is the most accurate way in which the moon formed, since another theory I learned about is called the capture theory which stated that the moon was floating around in outer space and then got captured by Earth's gravitational pull.

Something did hit the molten Earth billions of years ago to make it spin at angle of 23.5 degrees. But it still had a molten satellite that was small then and it's gravitational forces grabbed all the shards of burning Earth and collected on the surface to create the moon as it is today. This would make sense since the Earth would otherwise have rings around it like Saturn does. The moon existed when the collision occurred and is NOT a byproduct of the collision.

Some are right and some are wrong. The moon was made by a big explosion, actually a collision between Earth and Theia. Theia was a planet that collided with earth at the time there was no life and no water on this planet. Theia used to orbit between venus and earth, but it orbited in an oval and it went all the way out to earth's orbit. Theia hit Earth in the top middle, and an explosion happened. Lots of Fragments that went into Earth the second it came out and there was one fragment that was moon, that orbited earth in an oval. Theia was a planet that collided with earth at the time there was no life and no water on this planet. Theia used to orbit between venus and earth, but it orbited in an oval and it went all the way out to earth's orbit. Theia hit Earth in the top middle, and an explosion happened. Lots of Fragments that went into Earth the second it came out and there was one fragment that was moon, that orbited earth in an oval. Theia was just a little smaller than earth, so the mass of earth increased. Note: This is only what I've heard from the documentaries I've watched on National Geographic Channel.
