I laughed so hard just from these clips! Shemp is without a doubt, the most underrated Stooge. Most people go on about Curly, but Shemp has always been my favorite.
Ironically Moe made part of his career with the title of “ugliest man in Hollywood”... Personally, I don’t see it... he seems like the worlds more awesome uncle/grandpa.
To the person who wondered why Shemp never married, I've got news for you-he was married for 30 years, starting in 1925 and ending with his death in 1955. They had one child, a son Morton, who was born in 1926 and died in 1972 from cancer at the age of 45.
“Leave us leave, my sweet”. There was a comedy trope at the time, that uneducated people would say ‘leave us’, instead of ‘let us’. You find it in Damon Runyon ‘ ‘Leave us not be hasty’, I say to the citizens at Mindy’s’. Shemp is looking for comic effect by using the word in both its incorrect and correct usage in the same sentence.
@@lendrury2771 During Shemp's lifetime, gay meant something completely different. You know, like the gay 90's. In real life, Shemp was a happily married man. Google is your friend.

“You’re married kid, say something!!!” HELP HELP Shemp cried

Put Shemp Howard In Cargo Shorts Bowling Shirts
Well done
Thanks, glad you enjoyed :)
Shemp has always been my fav stooge. Larry second.
I wonder if the short Scrambled Brains was the inspiration for Shallow Hal? Both plots are strikingly similar.
The Farrelly brothers are Stooge fans and made the modern film in 2012 so it makes sense that they used a plot in one of their films.

I know. I also happened to know her name was Gertrude.
However, if you want a connection, her first cousin was Barney Frank.
That lady that took shemp from her father at the end sounds familiar. I think she did voices for looney tunes
Winning

In Curly’s biography by Joan, there was the family tree that where Morton had two daughters.
I remember that Shemp's wife name was Gertrude.
@@melissacooper4282 i read that shemp was gay
Not true of any Stooge.
@@lendrury2771 where does it say that?
