@mattsweeny3957 Pickel was a beast. Hit Jim McMahon so hard in 1984 he suffered a lacerated kidney. McMahon didn't play the rest of the season. I remember reading an article about Howie Long in Sports Illustrated from 1985. He said Pickel used to tease the hell out of Alzado. Pickel had a quirky sense of humor. Long and Pickel were both rough city guys similar in background and age. Alzado was the elder statesmen.

@mattsweeny3957 nice. Dr. Rob Huizenga wrote a great book about the Raiders in 1995. He was the team internist in 1984 and was on the show: The Biggest Loser. On the night before the most violent game of all-time vs the Bears in Chicago. A bunch of players were eating dinner the night before the game. Lyle Alzado was late so when he arrived they said hi. He was grumpy and went to the kitchen to get A-1 sauce. The late Mickey Marvin acted like he was gonna put ketchup on it. Alzadi was like: Get outta here with that! Marvin in his southern drawl said: come on Lyle you know I love ya' I wouldn't do that. When Alzado was gone Dave Casper took the ketchup and emptied all over Lyle's steak. Marvin was like: you asshole he's gonna blame me! All these big guys pushed in their chairs and scurried away before they finished eating. No one knows what Alzado's reaction was because they got out of dodge. Sounds like something Pikel and Howie Long would do. They pranked him all the time cause they were just as badass as Lyle. They were like his sons. Went to his house. Ate all his food and cookies. Watched TV lol

Reasons we don't have guys like that anymore is because of steroids the toughest meanest guys in an sport back then were brutal because of steroids it makes u more crazy and basically sycho not saying everyone was but for example brock lesnar people think how's he the way he is for his age because he takes steroids and he got caught taking them back in 2016 fired from ufc but wwe has a wellness policy now were u can't take steroids yet they let him back every sport does drug tests now so u can't compete on steroids anymore which makes sense now because lyle said before his death he was a fraud because he was only a beast because of steroids but now A days there more tech and training stuff diets more season like way more food so not fair I guess to compare him to nows generation considering he was a fake and they are training 6 days a week more than him 10 times more workouts and 10 times the food but back to a point only sport or company I'm guessing allows steroids is wwe and bodybuilding or brock just 1 of the guys who gets off with everything because of vince but wrestled 3 times a year then and reigns got suspended for taking them when he was needed extra energy because he wrestled every single night what I'm saying steroids never do them have balls to make what u can with ur body and take pride in it if u can't get stronger so what or bigger so what if u still look great or are a bit big great stick with that if u have no more energy say to the coach or boss and take a break come back fresh or like in to more exercises foods eat more take up a harder training style to get bigger and stronger for any idiot out there it's called bulking push urself don't take easy way out
