There isn't anything I love more to see than athletes showing respect to one another regardless of team. It shows maturity, and that is something we need more of from athletes these days.
That to me was a good example of how people would say just dont hit the guy its like he was already making a defensive football move what's he gonna do just stop? I loved the sportsmanship to realize he was gonna be in error in the moment and try pick him up.
Psychologically, Andrew Luck congratulating the guys who hit him serves to enforce that he’s a kind, good guy. Therefore, he’s less likely to be hit as hard in future by those he is paying a compliment to.
Luck 1000% is just that guy but it honestly never helped him. The Colts so terribly mismanaged his career and left him with a wet paper bag of an offensive line to such a degree that he was pretty severely injured twice, constantly in pain, and was starting to develop a little ptsd so he retired way too young. It’s a damn shame. There are teams out there right now that need to do better by their QBs. Bengals being one of them but to be fair they’ve been trying. Injuries and a couple draft busts/under developed players standing in their way. The Colts just ignored the problem.
As a man who's watched football in England all my life I've been use to seeing players get tapped and go down like they've been shot. To see these guys nearly knock each other out and get up, tap hands and say all good, is absolutely awesome. Total new respect for the sport 🙌
That right there is why so many Americans have no respect for soccer, the players always flopping on the ground until the card is pulled then jump up and run, proving it wasn’t serious to start with. The only awards we feel soccer players deserve are Oscars, and Americans no longer watch the Oscars…..
That's because Football (soccer) is full of little baby bitches who have no sportsmanship and rely on getting other guys in trouble to get the upper hand. They could never survive American football. I'd say American sports but NBA is just as bad as soccer.
I could watch these clips all day. I enjoy this so much better than watching a bunch of violent knock out hits. This is what sportsmanship, and a brotherhood looks like.
I feel like everyone gets so caught up in winning, money, this being a job, and all that, they forget that sports should be about bringing out the best in us
What excellent examples of showing that you can still cheer on someone else for doing their best and not think that it takes away from your best! I love that they put kindness and compassion over the need to win and ego! Keep this up!
My newest "favorite" video. This is awesome. I love hearing the mutual respect between gladiators, warriors. Deals being made between forces on the battlefield. The "generals" discussing terms. I LOVE it!!!!!
Somehow, it makes me sad to see AB in this, but not because he did not deserve… This guy had so much potential on and off the field, I still can‘t unterstand why he threw it all away:( Whatever, I love the respect and positive energy from those guys! I hope we get to see more tapes like this. Greetings from Germany❤
To hear him tell it, TB fired him on the field for not wanting to play injured. He'd had his own doctor do scans and was told he shouldn't play, where the team doctor said he should.
I could be wrong but I always got the impression AB was never the same after that Burfict hit, feels like he got some bad brain damage that day (again, I could be completely wrong on that)
For sure. He just seem like he was destined to be in same level as Manning, Rodgers, Brady, Brees; a lock for HOF. But now, probably not, due to such a short career.
Man I was just thinking that while watching. Andrew Luck is 1 of those players where you know he's really good when he was playing, but after he retired and you see vids like this you realize the man is a legend.
I understand why alot of them don't show "great sportsmanship", but it's always refreshing when they do. It's a hard game to be able to keep your cool in.
Andrew Luck has got to be one of the kindest humans that has ever stepped onto a field haha. No one like him. Also, anyone else hear Deshaun Watson say he and Patty Mahomes should hang in the offseason... someone should check on those Kansas City massage parlors lol
having mutual respect for your opponent is so awesome. It can take you back to when you were a kid. Like "hey, you a dawg and I respect it, let's have some fun today"
Dude at 4:20 about to get himself a foul call, and then immediately realizing he goofed and being polite about it is funny as hell to me. Also Luck getting absolutely DESTROYED multiple times, and getting up saying "GOOD HIT" is wild.
Reminds me of a story I heard about Mean Joe Greene. His teammates always hoped someone would cut him or hold him at the beginning of the game and get him mad, 'cause he was almost unblockable when he got riled up. Then one game, the O-lineman he was lined up against would just chat with him between plays, call him "Mr. Greene", ask about his family, just talk chill and friendly. Joe made plays that game but wasn't his usual dominant self. Smart strategy.
Vontaze Burfict hit. pretty sure it seriously messes with his mental health and it’s been downhill since. very sad actually and they don’t seem to care about it. they’d rather clown him on social media than get him help
CTE is a helluvah experience. It's why it upsets me so much when dudes are showing obvious signs of CTE issues and the league is just like "Yeah, he's just acting like a rich, crazy player" and walks away.
I remember in high school ( I was a receiver), I caught a quick pass and all I heard was someone saying “sorry bro”. I turned to run and was hit hard by him.
I can't deny that IMHO, a little competitive trash talk is fun and an essential part of many sports. That being said, there is something about good sportsmanship that makes any game that much more fun to watch.
Stuff like this is why EVERYONE in the NFL felt it when Andrew Luck was forced to retire. He was such a good dude, but that injury bug got him and never let go.
Man. I missed Andrew. Not colts fan but I watched colts games cuz of him then he retired and haven’t watch colts games since unless they play against my team.
As a Colts fan, every time I see Andrew Luck in one of these compilations, it makes me want to find Ryan Grigson and make sure he's not holding a position in a NFL front office ever again.
"That's a touchdown. That's a touchdown. That's a touchdown." Before he even started I was already saying it out loud in basically the same cadence lol

Andrew Luck is the only dude complimenting other people tackling him🤣🤣🤣Not a Colts fan, but I miss that guy a bit. Class act
I love how the one guy apologized "My bad" and Luck says "Nah you're good that's just football." Awesome stuff
Unlike Josh Allen who is a 6'5 260lb crybaby, and begs for calls. #Buffalobitchmade
Because Luck was about that life 💯

Psychologically, Andrew Luck congratulating the guys who hit him serves to enforce that he’s a kind, good guy. Therefore, he’s less likely to be hit as hard in future by those he is paying a compliment to.
We need more selfless class and less ‘me me me’, ‘I’m the best’ in sports and society as a whole.
While you are probably technically correct, I doubt that was Luck's motivation. I think he was genuinely enjoying himself on the field.
Honestly, it's also a way to say that it didn't bother him.
Luck 1000% is just that guy but it honestly never helped him. It's useful to be a likeable guy in the nfl. Guys will still hit you, but they'll at least apologize afterward
3:30 Two people from opposing teams bowing their heads and praying for each other’s victory and safety is inspiring and beautiful.
Thought the same.
A group of players from both teams get together after *every* game to pray together.
Amen.

That was the best.
Drama is fun, but sportsmanship is infinitely more satisfying and enjoyable to watch.
I loved when he shoved the guy and realized he shoved the wrong person
