It's nice to see that Kawasaki keeps on producing the Z1(R) and only conservatively modifying it instead of jumping on the bandwagon of electronic gadgetry!
Sold my 2015 model last year because of practicality issues and I miss the beast 😭
Mmm love it, very possibly next bike, update with tail tidy, twin Akras, quick shifter, smaller mirrors and remap...boom!!!!

Great review guys I picked up one of the last 2016 models at the end of last year and I love it to bits plenty of power for road use for sure, and a all round great bike tested quite a few SuperSport's but decided the sitting position of the supernakeds were better however not sure kawasaki are wise in rising the price point for the Z1000r compared Z1000

you guys really have to work on your editing.....the music so DAMN HIGH when the person is speaking and abruptly slows down and comes back...what is this??? come on guys....do a better job or hire a better editor.....
So the Hp went up, it got an Ohlins rear shock, it got M50 Brembos, it got a slip/assist clutch, it got a gear indicator......and now they won't import it to the USA. We get ripped off again.
Lifted_Above indeed they replaced it with the z900. in my place the dealership still imports the z1000, i'm from the middle east.
I do like the Z900. Took it for a spin and it's brilliant and plenty powerful. Yet in general the USA isn't the most primary market for any of the Japanese or European motorcycle models.
They still selling this bike in Canada! AHAHAHAHAHAHA not only did you guys get ripped off, your also stuck with trump now XD

And I ended up buying the Z900. It's super good. With an exhaust and tune, it's got a better power-to-weight ratio than the stock Z1000. :) Mine cost just under 8500 out the door. And handling? Oh my word it sticks good. That chassis is rock solid. And the suspension isn't even that great from factory and it's only going to get so much better after I upgrade it.
Nice! Yeah In some ways the z900 just makes more sense and it's power is more usable by any means. I own a old 2007 ninja 250 or ex250 before they called it the ninja 250r and I want to upgrade to the z900 or fz09 but don't have alot of money so I will just buy a used 600cc. But In the near future when Yamaha and Kawasaki makes better bikes I will buy them in a heart beat!

Nice video, I have a 2005 Lava red R1 with only 7k mls and am looking to get a more upright seating style, My concern is being 40bhp down and wind blast on the z1R Would this be worth changing to?
