i don't know, but for me the styling of this bikes is way better than the current Z series(z650, z900 an zh2) .. its sleek and muscular, the riding position for me is good, relax yet engaging... good to see it's still available there..
I own a 2020 z1000r performance from new absolutely love it it's a good all rounder I commute on it all year round rain or shine always feel safe& confident and great for those summer day blasts!
100% agree its a great bike! Hense ive had 2 lol. But when you try a ride it like i do my Versys with loads of electronics which saves the slides from broken traction in the wet and you know the Z doesnt have anything like that, it does make me a little nervous on wet roads. That being said, dry roads absolute blast! Thats why its my summer toy. 👍🏻
I've got a 2018 R Edition, probably the best bike I've ever owned. One thing I'd say to anyone, especially of you've got aftermarket headers (I've got a single sided full Akra system on mine) is get it custom mapped, it REALLY wakes the bike up. Oh and the R Edition didn't automatically come with Akra cans from new.
the seat cowl is UNREAL!
Lovely bike - I have a Z1000SX which I absolutely love. My one's bog standard, though. I think it's a shame they don't sell the Z1000 any more, just the Z900... or a Z H2 🤣
That does sound loud! 🙉
Found your channel through Redford Baron's recommendation. Great content so I've subbed 👍
Its is loud! To loud without the baffels! The wife moans like mad lol.
Yea not a fan of the H2, much prefer the looks of mine.
Thanks for the sub! Il head over to your channel and sub aswell! 👍🏻
@@lifeonmarshmoto thanks for the sub, hope you enjoy the videos 👍
Green all the way...just looking at buying 1 myself tomorrow..only thing is 16k mileage on a 67 plate..
I prefer your current bike colours, to be honest.
I currently have a Z900 performance edition but want the Z1000R. I just prefer the look of the Z1000 over the Z900. I know there's only about 20bhp difference, so I hope the change will be worth it.
Yea totally agree, the z1000 looks great, i even prefer it to the new H2’s, think it looks mean and has a good presence about it. Such a shame they dont make it anymore!
@Life on Marsh I agree. Why didn't they style the H2 Z in a very similar way.
Mark, i was looking at getting a z900, how do you find the fueling, i keep seeing reports of the snatchy throttle problem, have you got that on yours?. And @Life on Marsh, how is the throttle on the Z1000???
@@midnightx1719 hi bud, its been a while since i ride the Z and ive ridden alot of bike since but from what i remember i didn’t have any issues with the throttle, i think that the newer bikes are mainly euro 5 compliant and manufacturers seem to be struggling with the fueling of the euro 5 engines as my XR is abit jerky at slower speeds
@@lifeonmarshmoto tks i think ure right about the euro 5. Plus the mapping is generally rubbish on most recent bikes ive tried.
I actually like the green accents. It just pops.
Hi bud ,.nice video. I have the 2012 Z1000 and I'm thinking of buying a full akra system. Have you had any issues in the MOT because it's de-cat? Thx
How is the seating position got the mt09sp atm an the seating kind of annoys me it forcing me into the tank an crushes.my nuts haha
I'm picking this bike up Saturday 😁
My actually bike (as I sold it 😔) or just the same one?
@@lifeonmarshmoto Your actual bike from Lind's
I was looking at videos on here and noticed the exhausts and then saw the number plate. What are the chances 😆
😮 Unreal! Thats were my new ones from obviously! Didnt think it would be long before it was sold!
Love that bike! Just wasnt viable to keep 2 bikes for me.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did, it is missed 😔
Also be great to see it out and about!
I'm not 100% on those mirrors 😆 I'm trading in my Er6n so this is a big upgrade for me. Can't wait 😁
My z1000r with racetune makes 170hp/128nm
I'm thinking of buying a Z1000r bit of a silly question what are they like at speed on the motorway (I haven't road tested one yet)..I have a naked 650 and at 70mph it is a nightmare with the wind pushing against me...
Hi,
At motorway speeds the bike felt really stable and planted and on track its was the same, but as its a naked bike you will always feel the wind blast and its no different on this bike, you do get alot of pushing from the wind. You can get small windscreens for it but they dont really make much difference. Just the nature of the bike really, no wind protection…but great fun!!
I've had a go on a Z1000, not this version or year. Nice bikes!
They are great bikes, not for everyone i get that, but i like them!
Healtech makes a quickshifter for this bike its a gamechanger and much cheaper than with kawasaki
Is it good as a daily rider? Or are there some things that makes commuting on this a pain in the ass?
Id day so! I did commute on it for a while and found no issues.
Only thing i found was after about an hour i was ready to get off and have a break as my arse would go numb, but apart from that, its an awesome bike, was really reliable aswell.
I do miss it.
