Fantastic Rig Rundown - one of the best I've seen in quite some time. You can really tell Chris puts time and effort into choosing his words when discussing his gear.
Everyone has to love John Bolinger....he's a formidable musician, great compassionate human being and who else could possibly cram as many Wow's & Cool's into a 40 minute video...!
I’m really fascinated and moved by the thought that our instruments will pass on and be owned and used by someone else. My two sons are little, but I bought each of them an acoustic guitar to have for when they are older. They’ll have them when I am gone, and hopefully they’ll be able to pass them to their kids.
+Carl Stacey I totally agree. I had a couple of albums of his when i was in high school. Further Seems Forever stuff. It was really great but I never got into the emo scene. I'd never heard this guy speak and was a bit hesitant to watch him talk about his gear but wow.....what a cool guy and eloquent speaker. The interviewer drives me insane. It's his voice.....its annoying and his presence seems so fake and staged.
The way this guy speaks. So relaxing man. Except for those occasional long pauses, which are so abrupt it sounds like the sound has cut out! Fair play to Bollinger for resisting the temptation to interject and pre-empt him.
+George Ivanoff Disagree. They definitely don't ONLY do the three panel back on D models. What about the OM-35 or M-36? Also, it's a 1935 sunburst, not a 1937.
My old band went on tour with NFG, and while we were in FLA, Chris came to the show 'cause he's friends with them from way back, and i have to say, he's one of the nicest most genuine dudes ever. He spent an hour just talking to me like i was his friend, and even invited our band to come sleep over his house, but we couldn't 'cause we were headed the other way.
what a Super interview Chris Carrabba was very thoughtful of what he was telling us and John Bohlinger asked the the right question well done to the both of you, very enjoyable
I've definitely heard the name of his band before, but knew nothing about them or this guy...but wow, what a well spoken, polite down to earth, cool guy he seems to be.
Chris: "I don't want an artefact that I can't hand to anyone to play" Also Chris: "Here's two incredibly rare SGs with Les Paul Junior on the headstock"
Wow, Chris really knows his stuff. I love seeing musicians who people think are just dumb rockstars, paid industry sellouts, etc. who show they are very intelligent and very deliberate about what gear they use. It shows their attention to their craft, and what makes it special. Edit: minus points for saying Kitten Caboodle.
I have a 1961 Les Paul Junior myself and it's an amazing instrument. its not stock at all anymore. but i keep the original parts in its case haha. its cool to hear the story about it from more than one source.
Premier Guitar, Can you do a U2 rig rundown, they have just started their new tour, and The Edge has just UPDATED his rig with new guitars and effects, and Adam Clayton has got a few new basses too, and also has new signature Fender and Warwick basses out.
It has amazed me that he has a simple AC15CC1 as main amp for this excellent rig. I believe that this demonstrates how much have improved VOX since they moved their production to China.
As a Martin collector/lover/fanatic myself, I think this is a killer RR! Well done Prem GTR. And Martin DOES do the 3 piece back on the M-36 (which is a 0000 and one of my favorites) in addition to the 35 Style Dreadnoughts :-)
Really the pick ups are probably grey flatwork single coils same as a strat of the same year, same wire, same pots and switch. They should sound great.
Chris Carrabba is awesome but I don't see how he can sing a song when he takes such long........................................................................pauses in every sentence.
Is that a 2-tone Rolex Datejust Chris is wearing? Also, he appears to be wearing a wedding ring. I've never known Chris to be married or even partnered for that matter. Was he married at that time? I saw him live in Dublin last year and he made reference to his mother (or possibly grandmother) asking him when he's "going to find a nice girl".
I met Chris after a Twin Forks show in 2014. Someone else asked if he was married. He said he was, but he didn’t go into any details (how long, to whom, children or not, etc.). He made it clear he wanted to keep his personal life private. He did tell us that he was living in Murfreesboro, TN (which is about 30 miles south of Nashville). That’s all the personal information he gave.
I think it was a little disingenuous that he is trying to act like he always used Martins. He used Gibson for long time, and when he first started he used Guild. I guess he has to promote products to get those endorsement checks.
Fantastic Rig Rundown - one of the best I've seen in quite some time. You can really tell Chris puts time and effort into choosing his words when discussing his gear.
He just lives in his own little world I feel like. Strange guy but knows his stuff and that's why I like him so much. Such a great artist.
Everyone has to love John Bolinger....he's a formidable musician, great compassionate human being and who else could possibly cram as many Wow's & Cool's into a 40 minute video...!
I want Chris to narrate every single rig rundown. So descriptive, I love it!

Hands down the best rig rundown I've seen......dashboard confessional pun intentional
He doesn't like to bend strings a lot. He will not bend (or rarely will), he will not break.
Lol I guess you missed Brand New
God damn i don't even listen to this band but this was the best rig rundown in awhile thanks to Chris!
+Carl Stacey Don't damn God because of it Carl! just say "praise God..Chris' is so good..!!
+Carl Stacey I totally agree. I had a couple of albums of his when i was in high school. Further Seems Forever stuff. It was really great but I never got into the emo scene. @@LiberTBo shut up, terrance
LOVE this group! Was not expecting to see them on here. This is fantastic
This has got to be the best rig rundown ever.
this one was super thorough! loved it
The way this guy speaks. So relaxing man. Except for those occasional long pauses, which are so abrupt it sounds like the sound has cut out! Fair play to Bollinger for resisting the temptation to interject and pre-empt him.
Joseph Critchley I was thinking the same, it’s almost like a stutter
We all know Perry would have just talked all over Chris about a thousand times.
This is probably my favorite rig rundown to date. Plus Chris' acoustic tone is just heaven. Amazing player. TONE IS IN THE HANDS.
Absolutely fantastic rundown. Very interesting!
I love it how John lets Chris just tell his story. Great interview!
Wow. Chris is really prolific. One of the best rig rundowns.
I don't even play guitar, but listen to Chris talk about them with such an excitement is so cool! I love this guy...
Amo esse cara tambem
exceptional rig rundown, great interview.
Confirmed: Chris Carrabba knows his shit. Cool video!
+George Ivanoff Disagree. They definitely don't ONLY do the three panel back on D models. What about the OM-35 or M-36? Also, it's a 1935 sunburst, not a 1937.
+Cara Bellegarde That's so specific it doesn't even matter
nickymickyhicky Amen
Like we didn’t already know
Cara Bellegarde Is Cara short for Carol Baskins cause you sound like a real bitch.
Been in love with this man since the 5th grade. ❤
Restless N Relentless he looks so different now
Just saw him three nights ago, he barely does.
we all have boy
wow his attention to detail to his guitars is incredible. he knows every nook and crany of his guitar.

Cool! NFG and DBC are 2 of my all time favourite bands. What was the name of your old band? Are you in another band now?
.
what a Super interview Chris Carrabba was very thoughtful of what he was telling us
and John Bohlinger asked the the right question well done to the both of you, very enjoyable
I'm already a fan and this interview made me appreciate him more.
Don't know these guys at all, but this is fantastic stuff.
He reminds me of Jordan Schlansky, calm and collected, maybe a bit creepy :)
this comment made my day😂 was killing me who he reminded me of!
His pedals have various duties during his set.
I was just thinking the same thing.
Thats just perfect! I was like "who does this guy remind me of??"
Someone tell conan.
I've definitely heard the name of his band before, but knew nothing about them or this guy...but wow, what a well spoken, polite down to earth, cool guy he seems to be.
Chris is such a genuine guy, not really a dashboard fan but love FSF
I like the jacket buttons hitting that thing the whole time.
This one is my fav, and I definitely appreciate Chris Carrabba more. Dashboard Confessional isn't just for the angst of being 15 anymore. Thanks :)
can't fall down if they're already laying on the floor
Chris: "I don't want an artefact that I can't hand to anyone to play"
Also Chris: "Here's two incredibly rare SGs with Les Paul Junior on the headstock"
12:09 BUT NOT BREAK! anyone?
Won't you hold me now
"I am not a pickup scholar" amen to that man xP
"not that Chris Martin, the other Chris Martin" lol
This rundown is dope af!
what a wonderful video!
such an underrated humble dude
Great review.
It's actually kit AND caboodle.
OMG he hasn't aged a bit i still love him wuuhuuu
Princess Ann Panza he's 41 now with crazy plastic surgery
That was awesome! He's got great taste in gear.
12:10 "I will bend" BUT NOT BREAK!
I have a 1961 Les Paul Junior myself and it's an amazing instrument. its not stock at all anymore. but i keep the original parts in its case haha. its cool to hear the story about it from more than one source.
I was looking for which strings would be good. I like dashboard's sound, bought the d'addario ej17. We will see if I like them
he will bend but he will not break DOHOHOHO
Julian Boyd hahaha i was looking for this
Julian Boyd lmaoooo
Won't you hold me now?!
Premier Guitar, Can you do a U2 rig rundown, they have just started their new tour, and The Edge has just UPDATED his rig with new guitars and effects, and Adam Clayton has got a few new basses too, and also has new signature Fender and Warwick basses out.
That would go on for about 6 hours
I wish he still rocked the Gibson jumbos
Thanks Chris
It has amazed me that he has a simple AC15CC1 as main amp for this excellent rig. I believe that this demonstrates how much have improved VOX since they moved their production to China.
espinela Hes got two ac15s now just seen them Monday, just brilliant!
This was pretty cool.
any thoughts on if the heel cap is the best place for the strap button?
As a Martin collector/lover/fanatic myself, I think this is a killer RR! Well done Prem GTR. And Martin DOES do the 3 piece back on the M-36 (which is a 0000 and one of my favorites) in addition to the 35 Style Dreadnoughts :-)
God damn this dude is well spoken
My brother.has a Clapton.Martin. It's almost 20 years old. Sounds nice.
I thought he's gonna say; I will bend.. And not break.
Loved the interview... great info... but man does that guy take a long time to make a freaken point!
uhmm guys where is chris carraba's sideburns?
2007
lol @ Half Murray
itsmebernard Lol I was wondering what was different about him.
Wonder if anyone knows where to get an instrument plug like the one Chris uses on his mogami cable…
Here's another: Know the name but not what they sound like...Doesn't matter..Great Rig Rundown!!
This was amazing! Haha -- @7:40 "i never go... real overboard with the price i'll pay for a guitar" = so, he does go a little overboard! :D
What's he playing at the beginning? I must play it til I hate it!!
Really the pick ups are probably grey flatwork single coils same as a strat of the same year, same wire, same pots and switch. They should sound great.
What is this orange-blue ...ehh.. thing in the background?
immediately thought of kurt after seeing that mustang. and then chris mentions him with the martin unplugged pickup reference.
Chris Carrabba is awesome but I don't see how he can sing a song when he takes such long........................................................................pauses in every sentence.
Songs are rehearsed………….. most conversations aren’t
Is his 3 panel acoustic guitar all mohogony?
I think we need a JB rig rundown...
Pretty criminal how this guy doesn’t have a signature model fender or acoustic.
did he seriously just have all his guitars lying on the floor?!?! @ 13:00
It's a rehearsal space and he knew the interview was coming up.. makes sense to me.
Kurt& Chris..4ever
Demais!!!!
Please do Michael Landau's rig !!!
Does acoustic guitar need amp or it is just ok to go straight to PA System?
Thang Lian Cin Either works. If you want to play into an electric amp, or an acoustic amp, or straight into the PA. All work.
Que amor!
"Acoustic guitar. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk."
Is that a 2-tone Rolex Datejust Chris is wearing? Also, he appears to be wearing a wedding ring. I've never known Chris to be married or even partnered for that matter. Was he married at that time? Vegans would cry if they found out what his custom acoustic is made of.
Maybe I'm taking him the wrong way or maybe he is talking to his audience but who doesn't know what a Klon Centaur is?
Welcome gentlemen to my world. Stay as long as you wish. If you dare
I don't like his music but this guy is very Intelligent
We want Mogwai!
Why does he remind me so much of Johnny Depp's portrayal of Ed Wood?
A original centaur pedal? *--*
i wouldn't put a fender prototype on the floor lol
smells like teen spirit mustang :)
Jason mraz ?
Carraba is just the right amount of weird
He looks alike Andrew Garfield
Suns out gunsss out
why does Chris remind me of Woody Allen?
It might be his attraction to children.
Enough gear talk. Sing “Hell On The Throat” already
Why is Chris so mutantly small? Did he not eat his wheaties?
He looks like he's in shape and not obese like most Americans.
Nice Rolex
that green screen is lame.
Everyone is loving this rundown. I did not.
maybe cause your dumb name is hardcore sex
@@jointheresistence123 dont blame the hardcore sex. blame the sleeveless tee
Great rundown. But Jesus, SPEAK!!!
Seems to be speaking an awful lot considering all the stories about his guitars.
I think it was a little disingenuous that he is trying to act like he always used Martins. He used Gibson for long time, and when he first started he used Guild. I guess he has to promote products to get those endorsement checks.
22:00 - "It's tricky because for a long time I was endorsed by...I've been endorsed by Gibson..."
Anybody who knows Dashboard knows that he used Gibsons for the Unplugged show and for tours for Places You Fear and A Mark A Brand era.
God, Chris is SO HOT
And fun size, for your convenience!
Tiny J I know, he’s only 5’3” - PERFECT
But you’re a guy
Gunkanjima AND? What’s your homophobic point? Either make it, or shut it. 🙄
They should change their name to the Haircut Professionals
Kinda emotional about Martin here.. ? It's nice.
This was one awkward-ass intro
