- Pottery is political. Art is political. Even when we're not trying to say anything, I'm pretty sure everything we create holds a part of our hearts in it. There's a message in every bit of art, even if it's just "I don't care about things outside of my world."
Well, I care about people outside of my world. I really really do. But caring isn't enough. We have to be a part of the change to make things better for everyone. I suppose this video is a manifestation of me working on that.
I make these cobalt pottery plates using a cone 6 porcelain clay and paint them using cobalt oxide mixed with slip. After the first firing, I dip them in clear gloss glaze, then fire them again. These plates are some of my favorite things that I've made recently. I'm happy I have the privilege to keep creating, to keep making pottery. I'm one of the lucky ones.

You are right we are all broken brain washed into believeing we need, We need the latest Iphone we need the new car we need the big house mean while by us needing all these things we become robots to our jobs to our needs while keeping us just surviving and making the rich richer with our needs. We need to stop needing and start making do with what we have and giving away our hard earned money on thing we dont need but want
