Hi! I’m Katrina and I'm a part-time potter in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Pottery for me is a whole experience - it's not just about making art and functional pieces from clay, but it's also a practice of learning and refining my skills. Sometimes that means being really vulnerable, stripping my art and my thoughts and feelings down to the core. It's a practice of looking inward, constantly trying, and working at getting better and better results.
Please help support my art by subscribing to my channel. If you're interested in buying my pottery, you can contact me directly, check out my Etsy shop for the next update, or become a patron on my Patreon (giveaways each month for VIP patrons)!

Advice for new potters based on 20+ years of experience
I’m back y’all! Well, sort of. I really want to get back into making new UA-cam videos on a regular basis again. I made this video a full year ago but kind of sat on it while I tweaked little things here and there.
But it’s an important subject, starting off your pottery journey with healthy expectations and all the right support to help you succeed! So yeah, here’s my advice for new potters! Thinking about really diving in to pottery? Consider these 5 things first and I can almost guarantee if you adopt my advice that you will do great and make great things! 🙏

Hi ❤
It would be cool if i could buy hand thrown plant pots that came with a baggie of "mistake shards" to put in the bottom for draining
You are sooo right about persistence!!! Love your video!! Really great advice for new potter. ❤❤
Love this video Katrina. Can you be my mentor? ❤ U
I love # 4. I've often heard if something isn't repeatable it's not sustainable! Good advice.
Yes that makes so much sense!! 😊
And another 24 hours of cooling down 😭😭
i need that zombie nurse mercy skin NOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW
Why underglaze vs regular glaze?
Woah I am definitely going to try this!
Are you using acetone and mason stain for this? Would you be willing to share the ratio you use?
That looks so amazing 😻 You’re so talented!!❤️❤️❤️💐
I'm sorry but this music is terrible
and now... PROCESSING
We've gotta see the results 👀
Genius! 😮
So nicely done
so beautiful
Beautiful colours but you should definitely rethink the design
Yes, Hillsborough county has abundant of clay.

@@TjAndrews-m8gprobably near the water in the woods. Take mosquito repellent!
That's cool!!!!
Your voice is so Nice 👍🏾🙂
Your mugs have booty cheeks
Is it normal for your mugs to be caked out?
beautiful
Feeling sadness and grief today and decided I’d like to birth a drum. So glad to see there’s info out there. Loved your video and voice. Will probably order the book also. Thank you for sharing ❤
Awesome technique @thenakedpotter May I know how minuted did you wait for the bubbles to fully pop? Thank you.
Question. Do you need to let the paint dry before washing off the shaving cream?? And should you put a base coat on before using the marble effect?
Question. Don’t have to let the paint dry before washing off the shaving cream??
Excellent, Yeah!
Great straight forward tutorial!
I just wanna hang out and make pottery all day 😅
Quiero saber de ti
*promosm* 😻
Do you wash off the soap before firing?
Where would this be? I’ve been wanting to go find some but don’t know where to look
Same let me know if you find soemthing

❤❤❤ Beautiful
Looks so good!!! Very talented!! Thanks for sharing 🫶🏼
How do you "find" the Clay? I'm in Inverness if that helps.
Is that porcelain or Bmix?
You make such a cute couple! 😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Is it best to use a Tall cup/Jar, for the best result?
👏👏👏🙌 awesome juicer and video!
I'd love to see the results. looks astaunishing
Great video!
I love this!! Do you happen to have a video showing how you trip and shape this one?
Sorry but that vessel you made is ugly/not art why do people make ugly stuff like that with such a distorted vision of what they consider art i actually really dislike it in so many ways stop wasting perfectly good clay making what some kind of weird tribute to a cavemans fertility goddess statue which was always ugly then and now? I will now dislike this stupid video don't care what your over sexualized mind thinks about it either
Hello my pottery friend hope you will read this message. I too am a Potter who resonates with the clay and learned to put the intentions into the clay because it's very... Sensitive. I made two clay drums but before I could try putting heads on them I experienced a connective tissue disorder, now I am very weak. Your voice and your style are so similar to mine, my pottery studio @ Mount Shasta it was a peaceful community place. I wonder if you might try to put a drum head on the small drum that I threw on a pottery wheel. I threw the drum I believe in 2013. At that time the old Potter in Mount Shasta was using a different technique than in this video, on his advice I glazed the surface of the drum where the drum skin lies. I hope you might be able to put a drum head on this for me, because I dearly would love to hear the music the powerful music I know is in the drum. I'm in California
Mailing pottery in a box inside a box has always worked for my studio.
Nice and explained simply!
I think drilling might be more effective than hammering a nail
That's what I was wondering! I really want to try this but I don't want to break my grandmas mug!! 😩
