Very cute. She would have loved this! Aunt Joan is here and enjoyed it as well. She said: It was a skirt, not coulottes "we didn't wear those"😂 The first look was her favorite. Mom was 16 then, 1938 😘 Also, I think green smocked dress you wore last week would have been perfect for the last look! All in all a great job. You should do an Aunt Joan look next!
Salinda, this was such an amazing idea for a video! And I can see the family resemblance. Your grandmother had a great sense of style! The dress with the hood was my favorite. It was so unique and stylish. Hope you have a wonderful week!
So weird how generations work! We are only a few years apart, but my grandma was the same age as yours in the 70s! So her pictures feel a lot less "vintage" haha. Except for 1 specific picture that has major Audrey Hepburn vibes, but I think she did that on purpose haha! But this video was super cute! I just love old pictures, I have quite a collection already, even though I don't know any of the people in them.
Yes my Grandma was born in 1922 and had a very long and full life! Lived until just shy of 95 and was traveling the world and partying right up until the end. So glad you enjoyed and loved the photos you shared to the discord!
@@SalindaNichols oh that's amazing! So she was born 100 years ago! How crazy. My grandmother was born mid 50s, unfortunately she passed away when she was around 53. She had children quite young and my dad had me quite young as well. I'm the only grandchild she ever met :( she loved being a grandma. I'm really glad I got to meet her!
I love this! My grandma saved a few dresses for me. That last dress she’s wearing is soooooo amazing. I love the blue and white dress you have. This was such a fun look!
The hooded dresses of the 30s/40s were something else ❤ I think Nicoletta Carlone has some hooded dresses(at least she used to). As well as Vintage vandalizm, but her stuff is essspensive😫
I'm loving this video idea! If you have any old pictures of other family members, I would love to see more of this😊or even just pictures of random people! I like the idea of recreating outfits from a long time ago 😁👍
That last dress your grandmother wore looks very Hollywood. With the background it makes me wonder if this was a photography studio where you borrow the gown for the pictures.
My Oma has that sort of very classic old lady style which is sort of, frozen in time from the 40s-60s - ie cardigans, court shoes, pleated skirts or button up dresses. About ten years ago she gave me some of her clothes that were probably 80s/90s department store classics of this style but they were super great! Sadly they got attacked by moths :( I've bought a lot of wool kilts/kilt style pleated skirts that are very much her style, and I do love a cardigan. But I can't go down that court shoe and stocking route for me, in winter I wear knee-high boots. I've never tried to recreate any of her outfits from pictures of her from the past. She and my Opa were working class and pretty poor a lot of the time so I'm sure a lot of the outfits were very utilitarian and not especially flashy. My other Grandma? pretty bad taste, to be honest. I would be genuinely worried to recreate any of her outfits, although maybe they were better in the 40s/50s than they have been in my living memory.

So cute! You definitely look like your grandmas granddaughter. ☺️♥️
Aw thank you! I hope I get even a quarter of her good genes 💖
Grandmas Dad Stanley built the house in the Christmas picture. Let's not forget the great woodworker in our family. 😄
You should do a video on that! 😁

Oh this video is adorable what a lovely idea xx
Thank you! ❤️
This was adorable! I always love seeing family photos from other eras. The clothing is so iconic.
I agree! I love sifting through old photos, whether I know the people or not. So fun to gaze into the past ❤️

Ooh that's a good observation! Well wherever it originated I am now desperately on the hunt for something similar 😆
If only we could pull clothes right out of the photos!
That's the absolute dream!
