Watching during vivid times. The conversation, songs, musings, history are all from the heart so please do keep on taking us with you on your wanders. I'd love to see and hear what you thought of your American visit compared to the American in Edinburgh. Its all good! Thank you!
Thank you so much for these videos. I love learning about where my ancestors lived. I would really enjoy videos about other places and the stories behind Scottish songs. Thank you, again.
Another educational vlog about Edinburgh. You have been my source for Scottish history as I prepare for my trip there in 30 days (!). Thank you for that.
Yes Tony I too are answering you as you chat away. We went to Holyrood, took our lunch with us and ate it in the Queens garden! It was great to look around and listen to the history. Videos on anything, they’re all interesting and funny at the same time. Congratulations on your 1000 clan members.
See this is one of the reasons I love your channel. I'm gonna dazzle my friends with these tidbits of info. Don't stop your rambling. The best stuff comes out when you ramble lol. Would love to see you guys visit Ireland. The scenery in Scotland and Ireland is so similar to Newfoundland where I live. My countdown is at 10 days till Ireland, 7 till Edinburgh.
So how was your trip? Awesome, I hope! Every time Tony (&Kristen) makes a video, I add another place to see in Scotland. My Scotland list is now double thst of my England list!
So excited to see all of your adventures. Please share them all. I have really enjoyed watching all of your videos. Of course, Scotland is wonderful so we can see everything you are able to share.
Thanks for your videos. So nostalgia from whent I went. You videos are making me realize I missed on so much. Edinburgh is a sensory overload of everything I love in a City. With all you info I am going to be looking though fairytaily glasses
My husband and myself decided to visit Edinburgh for Xmas 2018, as we are alone in London (I’m Canadian and he’s Italian) so no family in UK. Watching your videos just make me feel really impatient to be there. Please continue your wonderful work on Edinburgh and Scotland in general as we totally felt in love with Scotland after visiting Inverness and Isle of Skye last spring. We would like more video about Scotland as yours are the best I saw…and I watched lots but not as much interesting and funny than yours. Thank you!
Since you’re taking requests, I’d love to see some of the neighborhoods around Edinburgh (like your Deans Village and Stockbridge tours) and suburbs outside of Edinburgh, please and thank you!
Just found your channel today after seeing your Christmas video. I hope for the world's sake the lights return next year to Edinburgh. Really enjoy the casual style of telling history. I was in Edinburgh for a wedding at the Royal Infirmary in 1983 and haven't managed to get back. Still many places to see including climbing Arthur's Seat. Thanks much!
Hubby and I love your walkabouts and histories. We enjoy being Clan Broonford and look forward to whatever you post. I would love Scottish stories and music too. (And I always love seeing Kirsten and the "boys".)
Thank you thank you THANK YOU, Tony, for all the wonderful videos about the most beautiful city in the world!! I live in Germany, was born here and all that, but I‘ve never felt at home here. Bloody eejit of a stork dropped me in the wrong country! 🤦🏻♀️ I love Scotland, and Edinburgh in particular. I spend all my holidays there and visit three or four times a year. I live from one countdown to the next and always miss Edinburgh soooo much! Your videos help me to survive, though, and get over my homesickness a bit, because those places you visit and those streets you walk are so familiar and I feel like I can just jump into my iPad screen and be right there, just like that. So I really cannot THANK YOU enough! And I‘ve almost survived just another countdown. I‘m getting there... I‘ll be back HOME again next week, for 10 days! Yaaaaayy!! ❤️🏴
Thank you so much for this. this is incredibly nice of you. I hope you have a great visit. Let me know if you ever have any ideas for videos. If i am able to i will gladly make them.
. Another great video. We stayed on the Royal Mile in the Aparthotel from 28th 31st August. Had a magnificent time emerst in you history. I enjoyed your new Whisky Distillery Holyrood Distillery shame I can not get a dram for 3 years. Thanks Garry 🇦🇺
Hahaha, i miss the rambling and the sounds u make. This one is really you and appreciate a lot. Don t lose your sense of humour, it s so nice, so natural, so familiar, so friendly, so funny ... 🤣🤣🤣
Have enjoyed many of your videos. Craigmiller castle, gladstone, just wondering some of the streets of Edinburgh and the whole series on the closes. Thoroughly enjoyed the simple yet informative way you presented things. Leaving for Scotland on 8/28/19 to celebrate my 50th birthday. Many of your videos have helped me plan our trip. The last time I was in Scotland was 1984 (my mother and her parents were born there) and at that time I was there as a teenager so the history of things were not as interesting as they will be now with my husband. Thank you for some of the simple yet informative videos that helped plan our time abroad. Still watching some and love the dogs as we have now 5 of our own. 6 up until 2 wks ago.
Another timely video for me and my sons. We will be having breakfast on Cockburn Street on September 4. Excited !!!!! Was in Scotland for a week last November. First day there we planned this return trip. Two weeks this time. Wonderful seeing the streets of Edinburgh and hearing your perspective. As every mariner knows charts are a sad substitute for local knowledge. Appreciate your videos and humor much. Thank You.
Really enjoy your videos! My suggestion is a trip for you and Kirsten to Dunfermline to see the Abbey and the crypt of King Robert the Bruce as well as the burial places of Scotland's early royalty. There's also the Carnegie Library and Museum and Abbot House. The Glen/Pittencrief Park is nearby. The grounds and flowers are beautiful. There's a lot of wonderful history in Dunfermline! Take care and keep those videos coming. You're doing a great job and provide a good service for travelers to Scotland.
Just found your vlog mate and just wanted to say it is the one of the best info vlogs I now follow. I love visiting Edinburgh......even though I'm only in Glasgow lol but been a quite a few tours. This is actually better. Looking forward to watching more. Just thought I'd pop up to say thanks 😁👍
@@ClanBroonford no problem at all mate. I have a question if you don't mind? I know you said your not a historian, where did you garner all your info lol. I genuinely thought you were a history teacher or something. Keep up the good work mate and a belated congratulations to you and your wife on the little one
Just love this channel and I am a proud Clan Broonford! I would think any place you went would be interesting, love the commentary and sure a random song or two would be great, I think it is your authenticity and passion that makes us want to hear the history and stories that we have all come to love. Once again, congrats on the 1000 subscribers.
got me to subscribe, thank you man, after your videos I need to come to Edinburgh, I'm from Australia so easier said then done, but once again thank you for the important information in the videos, you got me researching scottish history ahaha
We were in Edinburgh in April and toured Holyrood. Like the rest of your fair city, the history was spectacular! Though it was much colder than our Florida temps. Congrats on 1000 subscribers!
I’m English but live in Edinburgh now, 18 months so I’m turning Scottish. I wear shorts when it’s cold and say nay bother a lot to people! Sunshine on Leith has become a favourite song for us. Also very interested in the George Heriot story I have mentioned to you before. Great commentary style 😂
Great video Tony! Congratulations on 1,000! I wait for your videos every week, even though our first trip is over. You’re very informative in a great way, and with the humor. That Holyrood deer reminds me of the Jaegermeister logo, lol. Great, great history in Scotland. I’d like to see video of your other travels, too, if you guys are inclined to film parts of your trips. We’ve just returned from Universal Orlando so a late clan member check in but that only means I’ll be closer to one over the weekend. I think maybe a video about the stories behind some of the closes might be interesting.
Wait . . . is that stag with the cross growing from its head from Dore's Baron Munchausen? As I recall, he relates the story of a priest or parson who, lacking ball for his musket, stuck in his crucifix and let fly anyway. The best escaped and, ever after, grew the finest cherries on the tree sprouting from between its antlers.
I would like to see videos on other places occasionally, maybe places within an hour or so of Edinburgh so i could maybe do a day trip on my next visit. #clanbroonford
Another lovely video, so many information in a short time. Who the king thought was the lover of the queen, was stabbed 50 times. Is he buried in the same cemetery where Adam Smith is buried? The king was really nuts. Was this king that was also murdered in a fire? Thank you
Hi chieftain I am so glad you asked that last question. I have two situations. One I saw alot of references to bears while We walked around the Royal Mile last week. What is the story there? Also I have been enjoying the bagpipes music for years but I don’t know the history. I don’t know the name of one specific song. If you watch the black watch parade from july 2017 when they are escorting the queens crown from the castle to parliament opening. As they pass in front of the bank of Scotland they start playing a beautiful song. Which one is that? I hope you understand? Also next year we are planning to return but to the Inverness area.
Arthur’s seat climb is planned. Was going to do it with the dogs when we both get a day off together.... and it’s not raining. And yes, the song is called Loch Lomond and it’s got a great story. It’s on the list.
Just remembered I wanted to ask if you'd thought about Clan Broonford t-shirts & hoodies? With Kirsten, the dogs &you all on it! Maybe "Clan Broonford" up top & "Scotland" beneath? I think I'd wear one even more than my "U W⚓" hoodie! Maybe even more than my "bollocks" or "Let's make America Great Britain Again" t-shirts! 🤣🤣🤣 Go Clan Broonford! And I'd definitely drink tea or coffee out of a Clan Broonford mug! Or spill-proof travel mug would be awesome!
Right, consider this your official challenge to join the hubs and I to do the Tough Mudder. We've done one before and it's loads of muddy fun. Wear your oldest, shabbiest running gear because you DO NOT want to bring it home. Anyhoo, hubs and I will do it with you. So there. Welcome back to running.
We'll keep an eye on you, we're experienced at this. Bring Kristen along too. When else in your adult life do you get the chance to roll around in mud?
I cannot remember your Christian name so if you could mention it sometime that would be great. Also did I miss the one I asked for about where is accessible for wheelchair user ? (quite wide chair) or have you not had a chance yet ? Thank you
Hi, no I have not had a chance to make it. But I did write a big reply to one of your previous comments with a list about wheelchair accessible attractions👍
You could have still filmed the inside of it, because a user was able to filmed the inside of it 5 months ago, while she was touring inside of it. Look up Holyrood Palace Laura 1179. She was able to sneak her camera phone to both video and take photos of the inside. Next time do it, without doing a vlog. :)
With her hand maidens in there with her and Rizzio, there was no of a liasion. I feel that she thought of Rizzio as a friend and male confident. Both he and Francis were the only men she could trust, because Darnley was starting to show his ugly side. This was her downfall. She was too trusting with the wrong people.
Mary was 6 days old when she became Queen. The film is obviously made by the English as it has the English court as sophisticated and the palace as elegant whereas they depict the Scots court as uncouth and primitive and the palace as a dump.
literally nothing to see here...just this guys face mostly...and while he is a pleasant fellow...he rambles, stutters, moves the camera too much...I was hoping for some real history as promised and more views of the Palace even just from outside.

Genuinely no idea what you saw about bear references, will keep my eyes open to try an find out. As for the bagpipe tune. I shall do some research. 👍
Hi
I just rewatched the parade 2016 sorry and the other song is played while passing the green subway sandwich place
Wonderful you go where you want to it will still be wonderful How about Leith I was born there
Tony, can you walk up to Arthur's seat in a video?
Song about you take the high rd and I'll take the low rd and we'll be in Scotland tomarrow's origin? Taught it as a kid in American at age 4ish.
