AOC CU34G2X -The Best Value 34inch 144hz Ultrawide?!

  • The AOC 34inch Ultrawide 144hz panel (CU34G2X) is an incredible value and in my opinion the best ultrawide monitor for the price you pay hands down. I still can't believe they have this monitor listed for 437 USD. The biggest issue is actually getting your hands on one right now because they are selling so fast.

    Great review, as I comment I will improve my camera on the first part. To be honest when I entered the video I thought it wasn't as a high quality of a video and almost click out. But as soon you start reviewing the monitor, with the audio quality, the high def video quality, and great comments it just looked sooooo much better than the first few minutes. Keep it going, this is a recommendation because as I first glance of your content it didn't look that good on thee first minutes, but once those first minutes pass the content was incredible.

    • @Finrecon1
      @Finrecon1 3 роки тому

      @@Zendaal Yes, i've been very happy with the purchase. Only thing 'wrong' with mine is a tiny speck of dust between the panel in the bottom left corner but it is very tiny, i would have to be less than 20 cm away from the monitor to actually see it and the Freesync for Nvidia cards can flicker on lower framerates (about 40 fps). No dead pixels or anything like that. i would give 8/10 for this monitor, in some fast movements you can see it's not as fast as a TN panel but i can play CSGO no problem, actually better than with my old AOC TN, because it's much smaller.

I'm currently in school for python and full development stack right now, I manage a nonprofit which entials LOTS of emails and grant writing, I have to be on camera during school, and the occasional PubG and Liftoff gaming. With all that said, I still think the monitor I have is overkill but I love it and it's been more than enough and more for what I do daily. It's my daily driver for now, I'm adding a vertical 24" strictly for coding in a few months. Hello. Considering this monitor however I'm going round in circles...
    The only version of the CU34G2X I can find has 1 x display 1.2 port and 4 USB 3.0. Even when I visit the AOC site and look at the specs for CU34G2 and CU34G2X both show as having just 1 display port - eu.aoc.com/en/gaming-monitors. I dont know how to go about finding the one from this review or even if it’s still out there. Any ideas?

    • @matthewgardner4370
      @matthewgardner4370 3 роки тому

      So I called AOC and they confirmed that there is a US version of the CU34G2X monitor and a EUR/UK version (the differences I’ve noted above). The reason for the different specs was vague and didn’t really make sense - ‘US running on different power to UK’ can’t see why that should effect the DP and USB versions. If you purchase be mindful which version you’re actually getting.

    Hi! I bought it two days ago. Should been shipped here next week. BUT...one question: As i've seen on the Nvidia Page, it is not Gsynch compatibel?? I use a Asus ROG STRIX RTX2070S O8G -> Does is mean i will have Freesynch flicker? And if yes, is there a workaround?

    • @elfo7

      I have some settings that might help you. My monitor looks absolutely beautiful with these settings:
      Picture Boost
      Bright Frame on Frame size 100
      Brightness 34-44 (set to your liking, I have 42 since I find 34 too dark)
      Contrast 50
      Under Game settings, Game mode is off (if u enable, it will disable picture boost mode)
      set low blue mode to off
      overdrive to medium
      Freesync to On
      Game color 10-12 (11 is the sweet spot for me)
      Under luminance
      Contrast 45
      Brightness 95 Eco mode standard Gamma set to gamma 3 DCR is off
      Color: Red 43
      Green 44
      Blue 45
      The key is enabling picture boost, between that and the awesome deep blacks, this monitor is a steal, I had it side by side with an MSI MPG34CQR which is twice as expensive, and the AOC looked miles better, but it has a bit more ghosting. Worth the trade imo.

    Does it have high FPS plumes? Is it worth buying this monitor for $ 600 (in my country) or is it better to take the AOC CU34G2 / BK for $ 470, though it has a frequency of 100 Hz?

    • @1UpNerdcore
      @1UpNerdcore  3 роки тому +1

      I haven’t had any, it’s run smooth. I personally need the 144hz. It’s a noticeable jump but that’s if the game can reach that so it’s dependent upon your gpu. If you need to save money and you don’t buy the latest gpu then id go with the 100hz one.

Not sure if you can control your whole RGB Setup with these though. I've used that for the G502 Mouse for like 10 seconds, it's quite distracting.
