I used Gyeon leather shield for my white Tesla seats. Almost two years and still works great, not one stain and super easy to clean. Cleant them, wiped them with Gyeon Prep and put the coating on.
One thing that i've really learned to enjoy is having a damped microfiber to wipe leather after cleaning it with the brush. Just slighly damped, it does seem to remove product better, avoiding the sticking effect on leather, especially on the steering wheel.
I absolutely hate doing interior. ESPECIALLY glass. I'm more than happy to pay someone else to do that part of the work. I'll do the outside, let someone else clean the inside :)
Technically, from a Polymer Chemical Engineer, it's not Vinyl which generally means it has Vinyl monomer groups as in PVC. It's also not Vegan Leather which doesn't exist. What those seats are is TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). Hard plastics on doors are usually PET ( polyethylene terephthalate). That dashboard is likely a combination of PVC/ABS. Simply put...the whole car is nothing but plastic and all I do is wipe pretty much everything with 303 Areospace Protectant and done!
@@kylekleman To make plastic soft, you need a plasticizer. Plasticizer tends to be small molecules and can evaporate out making the plastic "dry" and brittle. 303 and most plastic protectants try and prevent that evaporation. I person find 303 to be greasy if put on thick and left to dry. I apply 303 with a damp microfiber and buff off with a dry microfiber for a non-greasy, matte finish. It does look splotchy if put on too thick!
I just bought a Porsche 911 that the dealer greased up with the most horrible, shiny, slick garbage I've ever come across. I know squat about detailing, but looks like I'll be ordering some cleaners from Matt to achieve a nice matte / OEM finish.
One oddity with this cars windows is that they cannot go fully up unless closed so you have to get inside to clean the bottom inch or so of the door window interiors or you will have a dirty strip along the bottom.
You should look into getting the Scrub Ninja pads from shine supply. They make interior cleaning so much easier since theyre more pliable around the steering wheel and tighter areas
Any chance you could get P&S Xpress interior cleaner in the 5 gallon form for those of us who use it professionally. Chris mentioned putting that on the list a few months back.
Do you happen to have a cleaner recommendation for the fabric/plastic around the windows and sun visor? I have a Model 3, 2022 so not sure you have that same fabric! Thanks!!
RE: 4:00 - I found (bought) a similar tool on amazon for about £8 that came with 2 of the "bonnets" and a cloth, if you can't find any elsewhere there's at least that.
Hi there! Is Koch Chemie Fu comparable to Gtechniq I2 Tri-Clean? I like how Matt enjoys showing the process part, even if it's interior wise, but runs away from interior detail. It's not just his thing! :) Thanks
Devil’s Advocate-if the seats really are pleather, why wouldn’t you coat them with a stouter ‘sacrificial layer’ like the admittedly-hyped interior coatings? There are no pores to clog...perhaps it’s a matter of principle.
Laughed at Matt's rant of the carpet cleaning on youtube, haha I can definitely think of a few. Let's be real though, those videos rack in views somehow..
I’d give you a thumbs up, but you’re attitude seems so stand off-ish. Kind of an a-hole, especially with comments like “if you need to clean carpets, go watch someone else, I don’t need to clean carpets in my car”, nor do I, but I didn’t watch your video to get snarky remarks lol… like dude, it’s a UA-cam tutorial video about a Tesla, just be positive and smile once in a while 😅 just giving some constructive criticism.
That was pretty cool. I'd like to see the finished product when you're done with Tesla. I also really hate interiors. Nooks and crannies, and bending like a pretzel is crazy. With someone else's car, what is in there? Nope!
Now OG is using stupid click me titles for their videos...great. Next it'll be 40 yr old Man with OCD and Vasovagal Syncope changes a tire, and you won't believe what happens next...

“Just vacuum it”
Matt, you are a genius.
Reinforcing simplicity has just as much value as explaining complexity.

You made me discover Colorlock products and it’s perfectly german. Doesn’t smell anything and it leaves a matte finish.
Thank you!
I quite enjoy seeing your thoughts and endeavors with this electric car
Same here! It's nice to get a different perspective
Loving the consistent content now. I’ve been watching all your old videos to hold me over in the meantime.
The corvette video is my favourite to go back to
@@adaywithdante9623 I just went back and watched the S200 overview and the one where he was trying to sell his M5.
The trick to the back window is to fold the seat back down! 😉
Matt you friggin crack me up man. We gotta kick it one of these days.

Honestly people with the white vinyl for a few years now have shown that it holds up strong without any treating whatsoever.
Hard to believe. It is so white
This was very helpful bro

Does 303 leave the fake leather soft? Is it greasy? Thanks for the info!

@@kylekleman You're welcome! Personally, I find the seats in my Model Y easier to maintain than the leather in my other cars!
On the Display you have an option on the settings to clean the display and you won’t touch anything by accident

Matt likes it matte. Thanks for the excellent tutorial!
When are parts incoming for the Model 3?
Enjoying it Matt! Keep it coming
How’s come you don’t use the vegan leather kit? What’s the difference?

Love the details on the detailing. Maybe have a list of the products at end and/or hyperlinks somewhere
Its on the description. Ok
Thanks so much for that vídeo!!!
Matt, why no Leather Shield? Just the Cleaner and Shield are part of the Garage Giveaway package... Would you apply Shield over the protector?
You say the glass won't fog up but you also live in Florida where it's relatively warm all the time.

So you will clean the leather once every 6 months...so just once 😀

Has anyone tried Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care? It seems work good if you buff it out pretty quickly, otherwise it'll leave spots
