- In this video we spend 12 hours to explore and EAT in Shanghai for a layover before heading to South Korea. See what we get up to within those 12 hours! Hopefully we give you some ideas of what to do in Shanghai rather than wait at the airport.
Note: Make sure you apply for the VISA EXEMPTION when you pass through immigration so they allow you to exit the airport.
Huge apologies for the hiatus. We’ve been in the US for the last month travelling and it has been incredibly hard to edit+upload videos whilst on vacation. We’re now back home in Australia so we’ll be pumping out the videos again!

It can reach 431km/h which is insane 😱
Hi John and Malie! I'm planning on flying to Seoul on China Eastern and I'll also have a 14 hour overnight stay in Shanghai. Your video was very informative-- thank you! One question-- did you guys pull an all nighter or end up sleeping in the airport/a hotel? I'm still trying to figure that part out haha
Sounds almost like the trip we had 😆 we had about 3 hrs sleep in a hotel in Shanghai City. This would have taken place in between the noodle joints and the breakfast. Wasn’t anything flashy - just a place to rest. When are you going?? You can hit us up on IG dm as well if you want if you have more questions 🙂 (@johnandmalie)
It’s so bright at 5:30, what month was this guys?
This was in April
OMG! I wish I had seen this video for my SH layover... lol was so lost and rushed. New subbie and travel blogger here!
Hi! 👋 Thanks for dropping by and hope you have a Happy New Year! 🙂
Great job guys! Love the hair Malie and looks like you lost weight. How is that possible after eating all this food, lol.
Aww thank you Michele! 😊It's just the camera angles 😅
I'm here because of Kong.

We don't muck around when there is food to be eaten! 😂
Where the hell did you sleep from 2:30 to 5:30, the streets?!🤣
Lol! Nah, we stayed in a hotel close by. 3 hr nap 🤣
how do you guys travel so much while having a full time job???? #GOALS
