Amazing video! Is it true that there are exit bans in china unless you're on business? Meaning foreign visitors can't leave. No shade just need to know
Shanghai is a MEGA city. Also I recommend the nearby cities like Suzhou, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Nanjing,Ningbo. You can find other beautiful views or nice food there.
dont visit yuyuan garden during holidays. i got my lesson in 2019. not knowing it was a chinese holiday( may 1 labor day), i witnessed first time how many ppl are in china. its shocking....😮😮😮😮 side note: due to smart urban design, you really dont feel crowded at all in chinese megacities. but its a different story during holidays....
Nah nah nah mate - you can't miss out visiting one of the ancient water-towns (one of the Top 3 places to visit), 45-90 mins drive from downtown, whilst here. After 28 years living here I still can't get enough of them and my website is full of photos of these incredible relics. Chinese ladies LOVE to dress up in traditional clothing whilst there, which adds another level and the local town councils go all out to emphasise the history of these towns set on canals. There are lots of tours out to these towns easily arranged from your hotel - it's not the ideal way to visit (staying overnoght in one, not at weekends or during holidays, is easily the best as you get to experience the town before and after the day-trippers have left). And, although it's a tourist trap, to miss out Yu Yuan Garden is a crime !
Hi. I've been in Beijing and plan to visit Shanghai. In Beijing I had NO connection problems. Using FB , YT WhatA.... I used my French provider FREE. No change of SIM card and no extra charge for my original contract. Just for the Frenches to know 😂😂😂
Je supose que tu as utilisé un VPN ? Juste ton passeport a suffit pour t'y rendre? Jaimerai y aller mais j'apprehende beaucoup les controles a laeroport quand jy arriverai ..
@@louisemichelle1428 thanks so much, so you just show your passeport at the check airport arrival and that's it ? :) i come from belgium so i will go to my phone provider to have more informations
It's not smog. It's fog. Maybe years ago, there was smog and probably quite bad like in many major cities around the world, but not now. As you said there are so many electric vehicles, more than any other country (as a percentage of the car population) in the world. And, all the factories and environment have been upgraded. Otherwise, an excellent video.
Nah that's not true. It's smog and pollution. Don't spread propaganda. China is one of the worst countries in the world if not the worst when it comes to pollution. That's a fact.
I lived in different parts of china as well as Japan. What I can say is there are more fog in Shanghai but it seems to be common to show up in east asia
Hello, can you please tell me - can you use credit cards for paying? I have seen that other tourist pay with this app Alipay and I am interested in using so I do not need to bring much cash. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the video. I am visiting Shanghai this year. Your video is amazing. Do you know where is the starting point of the river cruise (to go from the Bund to the opposite side)? Thanks.
No.5 on the list, seriously? I grew up at the Bund and never took that. It's a ripoff for tourists. I would rather recommend ferry crossing the river, for 2 RMB, best bargain ever. I would also recommend cycling with a bike-sharing app at North or South Bund, practically free too. Of course, you can bike anywhere in the city, like the French Concession or along the Suzhou River.
you know how these camera work? most of time, they are just video recorder, record video, store information. after certain time ,automatically delete。only when something happen, police will check these cameras.
@@jchrisssinshs5058 try to buy ticket (metro) from airport to the city via credit/debit card. let me know if you succeed. Of course, if we stayed for a long time, we would adapt to the payments. But new arrivals can only buy tickets in cash. This is just our experience. Shanghai is amazing, wonderful city, we love it!
Do you hate China? I have seen your comment in some videos saying the exact same thing😮 I live in China and we don’t use cash at all! And in SH a lot of ppl speaks English, specifically young ppl, but I mean what do you expect? You are abroad
I just came from there. Was there for 6 days. Didn't really like it. Didn't dislike it. There's nothing fascinating about it because it's just a copy of Hong Kong. Why they felt the need to copy HK is beyond me. The metro is efficient but one thing annoyed me. If you've bought a ticket and wanted to get off one stop before the original destination, they won't let you out. You have to get off exactly on the station that you selected when you bought the ticket. It makes no sense.
Shanghai isn't copying Hong Kong; they simply have similar historical contexts. For instance, Hong Kong was under British rule for over a century until 1997. Similarly, Shanghai had British, French, and Japanese concessions until 1949. Moreover, modern skyscrapers tend to resemble each other, and both cities boast a number of these. Therefore, it’s understandable that the two cities might look somewhat alike.
for the subway ticket, when you buy single ticket, they charge you according distance, from 3,4,5,6yuan,so if you originally buy 4 yuan ticket, when you exceed the 4 yuan distance , the gate machine doesn't open, you should pay price difference in the service counter, after that you can go out.
My first-ever foreign trip was to Shanghai, back in 2009. Stayed there a month. Got to see some of the places I visited back then and it brought back so many memories.

Do not recommend that tunnel, it is the least cost-effective.2 yuan ferry is much better than it
locals dont use it at all

There are two huge problems: no one speaks English in Shanghai. and metro only for cash 😅
Seriously? No one use cash in Shanghai. It’s all mobile payment.
