What I really love about eating in China is that you can actually order one portion and share it with your friends. Here in Korea, you've got to order the same amount of portions to the number of people dining. And the most annoying part is that most restaurants don't serve one person.

Try the 豆腐花 (toufu soup?) for breakfast.
It's also got 开洋 dried shrimp in it, along with 紫菜 (seaweed, a kind of), soy sauce and a whole bunch of other fragrant and umami things in it.
I would die for a dip of 油条 fried dough in a cup of 豆腐花.
This is one thing I miss from Shanghai living in Sydney. I just haven't found one single place in Sydney which does it right in terms of the authentic Shanghai style.

Do you mean 豆漿 ? I'm Cantonese though. We call it 咸豆漿 since (甜)豆漿 is the usual one further south like Hong Kong. On the other hand, we do have 豆腐花 which is like a jelly form instead of soup.

    Hi, Blondie
    Thank for your reply.
Actually, I am a Shanghainese of Australia (Aussie citizen), and live in Sydney now. My wife is a super-expert to food, because her gustatory sense is amazing. Can you - just use your tongue - tell the composition or recipe of chocolate? This is an easy job to my wife.
By the way, let me tell you: the best Shanghainese food you can find is in Ashfield, Sydney. People call this place “Shanghai Town” or “Little Shanghai” where Shanghainese dialect has been already an "official language" in the most restaurants over there.
    Best regard

Think you should add the Google locations of the restaurants either in your video or in your description.. so that viewers know where these places are at.

大壶春 is kind of more traditional Shanghainese style compared with other popular one nationally like 小杨生煎,it is dry with nearly no broth and the thick skin.~anyway, Thank you Blondie, to let me refresh my Shanghai memory.
