Yes, and no, there should be regular school trips to places that have these, and maybe borrow an educational model for school once a year, for a week, with play/sport/FootBall courtyard train tracks placed since saturday, verified monday morning, taken down friday and saturday end of the week, that way, you can have 1 week for each school to borrow something fun and educational, and if there are more schools close together, they could use a common ground for multiple weeks, so all children could experience these wonders. (And also have lessons in all fields related to steam power, and stream trains/ train tracks... in that month, to solidify the awesomeness of the past, and future, Nuclear power is just a big steam engine for electric power generation.)

It's quite something to see. The exhibit changed every year. As a kid I used to help the guy set up, and help with the models. I've always loved trains growing up and hopped a few too. Lol
I wish Hornby would bring theirs back they were cool because they were steam but still had a controller they received power to boil the water from the track and then instructions to open and close the regulator the same way i think that makes sense for ones that are to small to ride behind
This lil' fella wants to be a big, strong steam locomotive when he gets older and be working in the railyards and pulling cars along the tracks to their destinations day in and out like an old pro. All jokes to the side though, this thing is seriously super cool and hats off to whoever made it.

When I was at school, three of us tried to build these. The biggest hurdle was time, we had 40 lessons of 80 minutes. After 2 years there was a working steam locomotive, one of us had a better workshop at home than at school. I had a superheated boiler and firebox but no home workshop.
I've just finished putting up an O guage layout around the perimeter of my workshop along the ceiling. After 30+ years in a box it's great to get them up and running again.
My dad was a steam engine locomotive engineer back in the old country I used to love when he would let me pull the whistle on one of these trains I have very fond memories of going to the train yard as a 5,6,7,8 year old and him, showing me all those locomotives, and then telling me that he was one of the only engineers that was capable of taking apart the whole train, and then put it all back together again. Damnnnn that was 60 years ago. Shit!!!!!! It goes fast. (and I’m not talking about the train)
Someone out in the country from the town I live in just bought a train for their yard last year. I seen them prepping their yard and laying the track down for it but haven't got to see what the train looks like yet.

This is one of my greatest memories as a child, tons of my childhood memories are covered up by the dust of being an adult.
Never saw a real steam engine in miniature. Absolutely awesome!

There's quite a few steam tractors in miniature this is the first tiny loco of that scale I've seen I've seen one approx 50%bigger
That these guys build them too is an amazing feat given they are effectively exact copies of a full-scale engine but in miniature... 👏😏
