Seit meinem elften Lebensjahr wohnte in dieser Wohnanlage hinter dem Haus meines Freundes Jürgen die "Thiel Männer". Es ließ sich natürlich nicht vermeiden, dass sie tagsüber prOBTEN, da sie abends in den Clubs ihre Kreuzer verdienen mussten. Brauchen geschahen natürlich vor meinen Ohren und meiner Nase somit wurde ich auf diese Musik praktisch mit der Nase drauf gestoßen. Es ließ nicht lange auf sich warten, und ich verspürte das innere Bedürfnis, selbst diese Musik zu spielen Auf der Gitarre. Ab da war der Weg wirklich noch sehr weit. Trotz allem w urde aus meinen anfänglichen Bemühungen so pö a pö die Santiago City(rund 10 Jahre) dann allerdings hatten wir es geschafft. Heute kannst du im who is who unter dem Namen Udo Vogt Kapellmeister der Santiago City Corporation lesen. Mehr hatte ich nie geplant.
The 4 Brothers Tielman - at the picture added with Franky Luyten at left - were formed in the early fifties in Indonesia after WWII, where they heard American and Hawaiin music. These were broadcasted by the radiostations of the American forces or the Australian stations. Influenced by example Les Paul, Arthur Smith, Nat King Cole, Elvis and country artists. They were youngsters formed by their parents. Father was musician and worked in the Dutch Army called the KNIL. They did at that time already shows, together with their younger sister Jane and performed even for the First president of Indonesia: Soekarno. When the situation was very bad for the Dutch Indies they moved by boat the Sibajak to Holland at 1957. The huge succes started with the performance in the World Exhibition Expo in Brussels in 1958. Their Shows were very original and spectaculair. After moving from Belgium they start their career in Germany were they remain during a lot of years with performances in Sweden and Israel. Java Guitars seemed probably to be the answer to Arthur Smtihs huge succes Guitar Boogie in 1948. Their sound however is ashtonishing by the dark and heavy sound of the Fender guitars. Never performed before!
