Bald Eaglets First Flight

Every spring, in the time leading up to my first big canoe trip of the year, I try to keep an eye on several eagles nests within about a 45 minute drive from where I live in South West Ontario. To witness moments like these, is absolutely priceless to me. One of the most incredible beings roaming this planet is the Bald Eagle. I am thankful to always see many of them on my travels. It is almost like they are consistently showing me the way on my journey. These two eaglets likely left the nest not long after I was there in late May.
Young bald eagles sometimes get mistaken for Golden Eagles, as it takes up to 5 years for the white head and tail to turn fully white and mature. Their lifespan is about 20-30 years. I will never not be fascinated by them.

We really enjoy watching your videos and this with the eaglets was special. We haven’t seen you reach Lake Winnipeg yet. We had a cottage at Victoria Beach and are anxious to see the final part…did you make it to the lake? Keep paddling and recording! 😊

Thank you very much! Yes I did make it to the Lake and paddled another 80km or so along the shore heading South. What an incredible stretch of shoreline! Seen some good storms too though!! Got a bit of everything this trip. The next episode is making good progress! Private life gets very busy and the editing gets put on the side burner for a bit when that happens! Maybe some day if all the planets align I might be able to just make videos fulltime! Thanks for watching!
