@@MattMcIrvin I've rode all 3 versions. Each revision was more disastrous than the last. The fact that the track have become rougher through the years doesn't help. But believe me, from earth to the moon was incredible: the original version soundtrack hyped you for the ride since the beginning of the queue (you can find videos of the queue music and the ride theme on UA-cam). The queue itself was great, being an open tunnel going through the ride, where you could see props in detail but not fully see the track or the ride, and every now and then a train full of screaming passengers would appear out of nowhere. For the first year or so, there were actual spark effects when getting close to asteroids (which, by the way, where actual props, not screens). Also the show building was great: when a new train was "loaded" in the cannon, the gears outside would move as if the cannon was preparing for launch. Once "shooting" the cannon had actual recoil and smoke effects and a loud "booom" could be heard from across discovery land. Nowadays the queue is beyond boring (it's a completely covered metal tunnel with some star wars posters thrown in and minimal music, if any), clashing with the original steam punk aesthetic. The props from the ride have been removed and replaced with screens. Only smoke effects are used on the cannon (the cannon is reportedly moved from it's guiding rail and gears have been broken since 2000 or so) and while the trains have been replaced with newer vekoma trains with vest restrains, the ride is in dire need of a full year renovation/repair of the track. I hope Disney brings back the original Rock'n'Rollercoaster theme to their Paris park. While the "decoration" along the main ride part was mostly just moving stage lights, it was an awesome effect, being linked with the on-board soundtrack, especially since there were at least 5 different soundtracks and corresponding light programs. Nice details for the ride experience! Rougarou and Green Lantern gives me a headache when the shoulder restraints are being pulled up. My friend Michael (from Big Thrills Mike) has agreed that he will never go back on the head smacking ride in Six Flags Great Adventure. The reason I heard for Green Lantern'a modification was that they wanted to prevent trains from returning to the station inverted. Six Flags would need maintenance to come move the vehicle. In Europe, those ops have permission to unflip the vehicle themselves.
Another Top 10 video to feature The Infamous and Legendary Son of Beats coaster. With all the things Son of Beats have been through, it will over the time be very rare to Not feature the Coaster in one of your Top 10 videoes. I mean The Most Infamous Defunct Coaster, The 4th Longest Coaster ever built, The 3rd Worst Roller Coaster Makeover. Plus its The Only wood coaster ever built with a Loop. I will not be suprised, if Son of Beats a least are featuring in 2 more Top 10 videoes inside the next year. What a Son The Beats have made.
Despite being the most uncomfortable ride that Six Flags had ever given us, Green Lantern: First Flight actually did give me one of my best memories. On one of the few times my sister and I rode it, the pod had overturned in the final break run and my sister and I found ourselves facing the floor. The people in the pod in front of us were laughing but I was enjoying the moment because it was the closest I had ever gotten stuck on any ride at Magic Mountain.
If they only did the son of beast right it probably could’ve been alive today but they messed up badly and injured lots of people and also got one of the trains stuck on the loop. At least we know that the original is still alive a.k.a. the beast. But the sun had to die. I love this video and I hope you have a amazing day.
I'm so sad that I never got to ride Hyperspace Mountain in its original form! I rode it for the first time last month and it was AMAZING, ride-wise, but the themeing was so minimal and it just left me confused because the outside is absolutely gorgeous. :/
Regarding the hyperspace mountain, you can also add that the exterior was never updated. So you have an exterior, Jules Vernes/Steam punk theming, with an inside Star Wars theming. Except the station. And the end of the queue. Both are still steam punk themed. So yeah, you can say this is a disaster.
To say that Deja Vu at Magic Mountain had anywhere near a decade of operation is hilarious. Sure, it STOOD for nearly a decade in the park. Operated? Definitely not!
Knoebles rules for keeping aggressive woodies running: Step 1 - Own a lumber company. Step 2 - Pay good money for an amazing crew of technicians and builders who are replacing wood on the rides constantly -- including at night during operating season. Six Flags and Cedar Fair don't have time for dat.
When Nighthawk at Carowinds first opened, it was called the BORG Assimilator and was - surprise! - themed after the Borg from Star Trek. I know it was a licensing thing that forced the change, but I really miss the original Borg theme.
The best thing about the wild mouse at Blackpool pleasure beach was riding single rider, because it was like sitting in a bathtub with a seatbelt across the top, so when you got any airtime, you’d lift up out of your seat so much more than on any other ride
I remember going to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City and seeing the extremeroller with its Stand Up Seats! It was still doing pretty well and got a chance to see it in action! But after a few days I left, the seats got revamped! Now, I just went there recently and I still have the vision of seeing that roller coaster there, but I now just see boomerang! Great Video, cant wait to see what is next!
@Hellacia I agree the Japanese ones were good. The American ones were horrible...I watched several episodes on ones like Viper and Windjammer Surf Racers....and they were complete disasters.
The wild mouse at BPB was terrifying and awesome at the same time!! I honestly thought “patch jackets” went out of style - Oh wait - That was me!! (Dang it Sean!! 😂)
I had ridden the defunct Goliath (formally Déjà Vu) twice at it's original location at Magic Mountain. I never found the seating arrangement to be confusing. It was actually pretty cool.
Nice video, but you forgot the make over from the Space Center to the Temple of Nighthawk in Phantasialand. (Now the roller coaster is called Crazy bats.)👍
7:45 they were planning on retracking the whole coaster but cancelled it due to outrage from locals who must’ve never heard of theseus’s ship, and thought that the retracking would get rid of the coaster’s history 17:10 the change was made due to a california law, if six flags were concerned about them getting stuck upside down, they wouldn’t add more weight on top
@@ThemeParkCrazy i am not totally sure, I believe i was getting that from either an airtimethrills video or an eltororyan video, it’s also possible I was remembering something from when i was on reddit, but it does just make sense that their reasoning wouldn’t be to prevent them from getting stuck upside down because they added more weight to the top of the train which made it stay upside down for far longer
I never experienced that wooden Mouse, but Matterhorn bobsleds at Disneyland California is a similar experience. It has strong laterals, it’s a quite aggressive roller coaster experience. Although it isn’t made of wood. Also it has only a seat belt too (no lap bars)
Rode Green Lantern once and only once, it was after they redid the fins. It was the most painful coaster experience of my life, it was HORRIBLE. My body from shoulder down was pummeled…and as suggested in your video, my punching bag was indeed punched…HARD. I’m amazed the coaster lasted as long as it did. It wasn’t a coaster, it was a torture device.
Any chance on top 10 Rollercoasters in the uk for a future video? I love hearing about coasters all over the world but my 6 year old daughter has recently started enjoying your videos and theme park rides, it would be cool to show her rollercoasters in "her back garden". Thank you 🙂
I remember when they rebuilt the mountain on rutschebanen in Tivoli Gardens it was a massive succes and now it looks like how it used to back in the day
I like the comments you pick in your presentations to read. There is another group I watch, they quit their end of video items. I miss one aspect. Not saying what aspect, it will identify the production team. They stopped reading comments. One of the reasons I was glad was a couple of the presenters picked the pat yourself on the back complements people left. Then they started again to read off comments left...they went back to reading off the patting themselves on the back comments that were/are left. Thank you for not doing that.
Anybody know exactly when the new trains for Goliath at New England were put on? I remember riding it there and loving it. I think I must have rode it right when it opened with the old trains maybe? I know I went to the park before 2013 and after 2010
Oh my goodness. Many people get this wrong. The “new” trains on Son of Beast had the momentum to complete the loop. They did not have the proper class restraints to do inversions. Please everyone stop reporting this extremely false claim!
It's been said on record by park officials that the trains did not have enough weight to complete the loop. sorry but your theory is false so you should actually probably stop spreading these "very false" things🤷♂️🤣
River King Mine Train at Six Flags St. Louis? Was converted from a sit-down to a stand-up in 1984 and renamed Rail Blazer, despite not being designed as a stand-up coaster. Then that year a woman fell off and died so they converted it back sit down and restored its original name. I mean if a fatal accident happened possibly because of the change then I'd say that's a change for the worst.
I live un Paris and I used to love of space mountain mission 2 (i didn’t get to experience the original one and mission 2 was good on its own imo ). This makeover makes absolutely no sense whatsoever: no theming outside the building or in the queue excepts for screens and maybe flags in the station. It feels lazy and kinda cheap. In addition to that I feel like this Star Wars theme wasn’t the original plan and it was put on the coaster last minute for some reason. You can definitely feel that with the new trains: when hyperspace mountain opened it had brand new trains. Those trains are blue with gold details they have a steampunk feel to them and are decorated with stars suns and gears which feels so Jules Verne and make no sense in a Star Wars theme. Those train make me wonder what the original retheme was and I’m convinced it was supposed to be a mission 1 makeover but someone in this damn company arrived last minute and said « NO GOOD THEMING ON MY WATCH slap a generic Star Wars theme no one will notice » I’m still pissed off to this day and I’m still waiting for the original planned theme to be implemented
I was lucky to ride Wild Mouse, I have been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach once in 2017, the year with all the technical issues, and it was the first coaster I rode at Pleasure Beach (mainly because it was closest to the entrance; I wasn't aware of the technical issues at the time), if I want to ride another wooden wild mouse then I guess I'll have to go to Australia or Indonesia
Oooo I can actually comment on a few things here. Space Mountain at Disneyland in California was always pretty bland. From Earth to the Moon had some real theming. So in that respect I llloooooveee our CA Hyperspace mountain. It also fits being right next to Star Tours. DejaVu at Magic Mountain was amazing. I used to work Cyclone next door and I’d take my break to go ride it. When I eventually would sub for Deja and got Certified I was there for six months and never once had boarding issues. No idea what was wrong with the New England guests. The most we got was watching the old train volley on the boomerang all the time. Also Green Lantern I never got to ride but I always wish I had. However I used to love Flashback no matter how much it hurt. When it would open for the few weeks out of the year I’d ride it every day before heading home. That pain had to be way more than Green Lanterns retrofit.
From what I understand with the wild mouse, whilst the magnetic brakes caused slight issues and a little bit of downtime that wasn’t what ultimately killed it. Ultimately, what really killed it was the compensation culture and to a lesser extent, health and safety. Even though it had a perfectly good safety record! There was an incident involving a woman and her son of that year I think around August time, her son had apparently undone the seatbelt, and she claimed that he nearly flew out of the car! She then made a big deal about it all, and then plan to contact the HSE in the morning , all this is apparently still on TripAdvisor on her review. Which apparently resulted in Mouse no longer being able to get insurance for the ride, and if you can’t get insurance for the ride, then you can operate it😞 Long story short because of one selfish woman and the compensation culture we no longer have one of the best wooden rollercoaster is ever built!🤬👿 As a result, I am now fighting to change the culture in the UK and over the top health and safety/what are you campaign group to do something about it. I have nothing against health and safety in principle, but it should never ever be at the expense of a ride being able to operate or not or what makes a ride fun and enjoyable.

The fact that Disneyland Paris has back to back entries of horrible re-themes just proves that this park can’t do anything right. This park should’ve gone bankrupt and demolished since they were the worst profitable park and led to the cancellation of future projects

Honorable mention: Mystery Mine. And unpopular opinion, revamping Top Thrill Dragster's one intense into three weaker launches only a fraction of the original acceleration. Don't care about rollbacks or backwards launches. Already rode Superman: EFK, Wicked Twister, and Tigris and I think swing launches are overrated. I find having no launch at all like going up a regular lift hill and down a drop is more exciting than a swing launch at least you get to the top speed in one shot. FYI we're all entitled to our own opinions if our gonna tell me I'm wrong!

My Dad has a game where you can build a rollercoaster and have Disney characters ride and review it. My autistic son built one that whacks the riders on the head when it just gets started. My daughter made one with over 20 g's on it. Good thing it's just a game.
I rode Wildcat at Lake Compounce in 2021, and it was one of the worst wooden roller coasters I've been on that's currently operating. I hope this retracking helps it for the future.
Because La Ronde has no significant competition nearby (the only major theme park in province of Quebec), Six Flags feels like that they'll make money from it regardless of how they actually treat it.

You remember this.
@@elevatoralarmcoasterandarc1214 yep.
If they only did the son of beast right it probably could’ve been alive today but they messed up badly and injured lots of people and also got one of the trains stuck on the loop. At least we know that the original is still alive a.k.a. the beast. But the sun had to die. I love this video and I hope you have a amazing day.
You saying 'that was hard to read' comment in the Son of Beast section @ 12:35 gave me a good chuckle. Good video as always.
I'm so sad that I never got to ride Hyperspace Mountain in its original form! I rode it for the first time last month and it was AMAZING, ride-wise, but the themeing was so minimal and it just left me confused because the outside is absolutely gorgeous. :/
very interesting as always! please keep up the great work my man :)
I get it.
#6 I think a number of parks should talk to Knoboles on how to maintain old wooden coasters.
I'll still keep saying it, Son Of Beast was doomed the second they contracted RCCA to build it.
Just like Toga coasters...Toga was a disaster from the beginning.
@@CosplayDreams16 Togo was really only known for being terrible with their US editons. Their japanese coasters were significantly better.
imagine how good it could have been had they contracted like any other company instead
I get it.
I had ridden the defunct Goliath (formally Déjà Vu) twice at it's original location at Magic Mountain. I never found the seating arrangement to be confusing. It was actually pretty cool.
The original ride car seating configuration is used now at Silverwood, and it's great. No confusion, fast load/unload, and a truly unique and fun SLC.
@@ducatisti Aftershock is one of the coasters I look forward to riding when I finally make it over to Silverwood.
American Coaster Enthusiasts has the standup trains of Extremeroller in storage
I actually enjoyed T3 at Kentucky Kingdom when I rode it in 2016. I actually rode it multiple times.
Nice video, but you forgot the make over from the Space Center to the Temple of Nighthawk in Phantasialand. (Now the roller coaster is called Crazy bats.)👍
You got it.
Pretty cool you got Robb Alvey to pose for the thumbnail.
7:45 they were planning on retracking the whole coaster but cancelled it due to outrage from locals who must’ve never heard of theseus’s ship, and thought that the retracking would get rid of the coaster’s history
17:10 the change was made due to a california law, if six flags were concerned about them getting stuck upside down, they wouldn’t add more weight on top
Really????? I truly doubt it. 😢
@@jaimeschmidt1264 what
I'd love to learn more about this California Law. Where can I look up more information about it?
@@ThemeParkCrazy i am not totally sure, I believe i was getting that from either an airtimethrills video or an eltororyan video, it’s also possible I was remembering something from when i was on reddit, but it does just make sense that their reasoning wouldn’t be to prevent them from getting stuck upside down because they added more weight to the top of the train which made it stay upside down for far longer
Cool to see the park in Maggie Valley. I first went there in the early 70's when I was 4-5.
I knew Green Lantern First Flight and T3 would be included in the video 😂
I never experienced that wooden Mouse, but Matterhorn bobsleds at Disneyland California is a similar experience. It has strong laterals, it’s a quite aggressive roller coaster experience. Although it isn’t made of wood. Also it has only a seat belt too (no lap bars)
I remember this.
Reminder that the Montezooma’s Revenge revamp is gonna have Kumbak trains
Guess that's the real revenge from Montezooma: A horrible ride experience 😂
Rode Green Lantern once and only once, it was after they redid the fins. It was the most painful coaster experience of my life, it was HORRIBLE. My body from shoulder down was pummeled…and as suggested in your video, my punching bag was indeed punched…HARD. I’m amazed the coaster lasted as long as it did. It wasn’t a coaster, it was a torture device.
Very good.
Any chance on top 10 Rollercoasters in the uk for a future video? I love hearing about coasters all over the world but my 6 year old daughter has recently started enjoying your videos and theme park rides, it would be cool to show her rollercoasters in "her back garden". Thank you 🙂
I think the best retheme of a ride ever is Disaster Transport. That ride was so much fun.
15:11 Honestly the fact you included Celestia as a Vyond cameo makes me want to subscribe to you like seven more times now
I really like your video essays 😊
Good screenplays.
Deadpool approves of #1.
Absolutely.
I didn’t ride the original space mountain in Paris but I’ve ridden the Star Wars version and I had a blast on it
It's not inherently a bad ride...it's just _such_ a generic downgrade compared to what it originally was.
15:11 LMAOOOOO WHY ARE THE PASSENGERS DANGANRONPA CHARACTERS HELP 😭😭😭😭
I know I went to the park before 2013 and after 2010
Premier Trains were completed in 2014.
The wooden Blackpool Wildmouse is gone? Damn, I must have rode it for the first and last time right before it was ripped apart. RIP lil woody.
Long live the king.
I love that you used Danganronpa characters to show how to get on the train! I love it!
That's in the Goliath segment.
Hey ThemeParkCrazy. Keep making great content!!
3:48: Okay that's just terrifying, the way track and train diappears into the fog.
I was in the middle of watching this when it went private. 🤣 Just now it started glitching with comments and stuff, then wouldnt play. So strange lol
Lmaooo I thought my wifi crashed for a minute 😅
Those train make me wonder what the original retheme was and I’m convinced it was supposed to be a mission 1 makeover but someone in this damn company arrived last minute and said « NO GOOD THEMING ON MY WATCH slap a generic Star Wars theme no one will notice »
I’m still pissed off to this day and I’m still waiting for the original planned theme to be implemented
The people at La Ronde must've turned their brains back on after canceling Viperé.
The new trains and Premier Rides modifications on Zonga at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom could be another failed roller coaster makeover option!
The wild mouse at Blackpool was wild but it was not rough
I get this.
I love your vidoes, Love from Denmark✨
15:16 THE DANGANRONPA CHARACTERS????? IM ABSOLUTELY DEAD.
Which apparently resulted in Mouse no longer being able to get insurance for the ride, and if you can’t get insurance for the ride, then you can operate it😞
Long story short because of one selfish woman and the compensation culture we no longer have one of the best wooden rollercoaster is ever built!🤬👿
As a result, I am now fighting to change the culture in the UK and over the top health and safety/what are you campaign group to do something about it.
I have nothing against health and safety in principle, but it should never ever be at the expense of a ride being able to operate or not or what makes a ride fun and enjoyable.
I get it.
5:12: Same thing almost happened to my experience on my cousin Lilly's 11th birthday!
I went to La Ronde just last year and saw Vipere track and supports there! You mean to tell me they're already gone???
Six Flags! More flags, more fun!
Theme park enthusiast from and based in Louisville, KY. Is it worth buying a day pass to KY Kingdom? Or do I just go with the higher priced option of Holiday World or Kings Island?
The fact that Disneyland Paris has back to back entries of horrible re-themes just proves that this park can’t do anything right. This park should’ve gone bankrupt and demolished since they were the worst profitable park and led to the cancellation of future projects
That thy crushing can’t be nearly as bad as sky rush restraints at Hershey
Wildcat At Lake Compounce Will Get A Full lenght Titan Track Refurbishment. Meaning The Entire Track Will Be Replaced By GCI's Titan Track.
So You Don't Have To Worry About Roughness Next Time You Ride It :)
I kind of wish they'd brought Gravity Group in to re-do it with wood--it sounds like they've got a viable competitor to RMC and GCI's steel retracks that keeps the coaster a woodie. But I'm sure the steel will be easier to keep up over the long run.
That’s been strongly rumored but no one confirmed it. Maybe don’t state it as fact?
@@WCfanboy Boulder Dash Received Titan Track , So Wildcat Will Be Next.
@@singlerailindustries1763 that doesn’t back up your point or mean anything at all, you just said “x got y, so z will get y next” without any kind of proof
@@WCfanboy Here's The Thing , It Would Make Absolutely No Sense If Lake Compounce Went From GCI For Boulder Dash To The Gravity Group For Wildcat , GCI Will Most Likely Be The Candidate To Do The Wildcat Refurbishment.
I hope to go back to Lake Compunce next year to ride the Wildcat when it gets the suposed GCI Titan Track. Hopfully it will be a whole lot better then the 2017 retracking which I have not done, with my last vist being before all that the year prior.
The Son of Beast timestamp in the description is incorrect
Fixed it 👍
Out of all of them, I'm gonna choose the Goliath one since that one is very terrifying!
2:53 This is already the case with the new generation trains for SLC's, imagine the pain on those KumbaK things..
That would be bad.
thank goodness got that credit before those trains!
Ah yes, 30 seconds ago upload ❤
15:10 Of all the things I was expecting to see in this video, Danganronpa characters boarding a roller coaster was not one of them. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!
Love the Vyond scene at 15:11
Another option for this category would be the 2002 modifications on Viper at Six Flags Great Adventure.
I will start going on trips with Karen and Lilly. I'm planning to go out to eat at a suggested restaurant, shop at suggested stores, film elevators and do other activities. I hope these adventures don't get downgraded, just like the coasters on the list.
I’m never a fan of wooden rollercoasters. They give me a headache for a bit.
I went on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride in Orlando and loved it! I would go on it again.
Maybe for the best Wildcat will be closed when I go to the park in a few weeks, though I did want to try it out of morbid curiosity
Nice options.
River King Mine Train at Six Flags St. Louis could also be on here.
Hey guys if you wanna help him out you can put the playback speed on x2 and put loop on
My Dad has a game where you can build a rollercoaster and have Disney characters ride and review it. My autistic son built one that whacks the riders on the head when it just gets started. My daughter made one with over 20 g's on it. Good thing it's just a game.
Thought the Green Lantern was awesome.. glad got to ride it.
What year did you ride it?
I rode Wildcat at Lake Compounce in 2021, and it was one of the worst wooden roller coasters I've been on that's currently operating. I hope this retracking helps it for the future.
I agree.
My Day After Christmas shopping trip that's happening tomorrow is getting the same treatment as these coasters!
9:53: Here we go again, Disneyland Paris Resort!
My Elgin, Illinois trip on May 4, 2024 got the same treatment as this!
Giving La Ronde GLFF is exactly how I expect Six Flags to treat that park. Want a new thrill ride? Heres the worst coaster in our possession.
Because La Ronde has no significant competition nearby (the only major theme park in province of Quebec), Six Flags feels like that they'll make money from it regardless of how they actually treat it.
And in Canada as a whole there was nothing remotely like Vipere.
10:53 in my opinion Paris’ hyperspace mountain makes Space mountain mission 2 look like Tokyo Disneyland’s journey to the center of the earth
Of course.
One example would be the 2017 refurbishment of Seaworld Orlando's Journey To Atlantis!
Looks like Mine Blower is going to be joining these coasters for the worst makeover.
How come?
I got the same treatment to my December 2023 trips!
