Some of you may remember my video on Extinct Roller Coaster models. Well, I had originally taken it down after a copyright claim from a local news station. But before I could reupload it, my new portable hard drive crashed. I thought everything was gone, but recently I was going through my D Drive and I discovered that the video file wasn't on the hard drive after all. It was on my D Drive the whole time.

What happened to the Abandoned Roller Coasters video?
What news station would want to copy this? Well I guess people love your contact, great job.
@@uzi_the_drone I have that one too. I'll publish it soon after my Top 10 Bizarre Flat Rides video.
Based on what I remembered from the old video before it got taken down, the number one spot looks like it’s the same, it’s just used with different footage.
Which news station copyright claimed it?
I can't help but think how Roller Coaster Tycoon actually implemented a roller coaster model that went extinct 17 years before it was released. RIP, Virginia Reel, you live on in our hearts.
Wasn't that coaster option in RCT even called the Virginia Reel? I may be wrong, it wasn't a type of coaster I cared to build much.
They actually implemented a roller coaster that went extinct 70 years before! The wooden reverser roller coaster operated in the 1920s and likely went extinct in the 1930s.
We had a Virginia reel here in Blackpool , UK . It was first built in the 1930s.
Was it on Roller coaster 3 if it was you can ride it
@@EmilKazooPlayer It was actually the 1980s when the last Virginia Reel closed
When you mentioned Geauga Lake, I died inside a little. My parents used to take me to Geauga Lake every summer. What great memories.
I lived less than a mile from there, it was my first job. Breaks my heart
💀💀💀
I regret not going to Geauga back in 2003 when I visited Cedar Point
we used to go to wild water kingdom all the time and could always see the remains of geauga lake across the lake from us :(
Me too, I lived really close, about a ten minute drive, so I would go all the time in the summer growing up. I saw it go through all of its phases leading up to and including the closure. It was the most unfortunate thing the way it went down. It was really such a great park, iconic to me, especially for being a local park and not a more “elite” park.
You're going to love this; my father was actually an engineer at Six Flags Great America in 1984 with Z-Force was built and actually was the one who fetched the control panel from O'Hara airport (as there was a trucker strike at the time).

I REMEMBER THE WATER COASTER.... oh, the good ol days when spongebob 4D and Scooby doos haunted mansion were in the same park.....
I rode the one at Hershey Park and thought it was very fun.
@@1omarella i miss the Hersheypark rollersoaker
Brooo. Back in the day when Paramount owned Carowinds in NC :(
I was about to ride the one at hershypark when they closed the water rides due to a thunderstorm. I was literally in the seat when it happened. I left the park and when I came back a year later it was gone.
I absolutely loved this ride as a kid. When I came back as a teenager and saw it was gone, I was really disappointed. I rode the coaster that they put in it's place, but honestly it felt really basic and unmemorable.
My jaw dropped when you said the Pinfari turntable big apple was extinct, then I realized it wasn't a wacky worm.
It’s a WackyWorm™️ but with a turntable. Big apple is Pinfari's name for a wacky worm.
Doesn't the Extended Wacky Worm in Fiabilandia have a turntable?
Same
@@alaeriia01 maby it's not a pinfari
The Vekoma Flying Dutchman will soon be extinct. Batwing and Nighthawk have maintenence issues and I don't expect them to operate much longer. So if you have gotten the credit, I recommend that you do before those rides get sent to the scrapyard.
I can vouch on that. Batwing always opens up an hour after the rest of Six Flags America does. And from what I've been told, the maintenance crews there dread working on it.
They may want to get it redone by vekoma with there new flying coaster
Batwing runs so much better than Nighthawk. Nighthawk is ouch city
Yay
As someone who managed to ride fire hawk before it got nixed, I’m almost panicking that I won’t be able to get to the other two
Wild mouse left me bruised for days 😂
they have one just like it in Six Flags New England
On the wild mouse at scandia it makes your knee hurt at the turns
Yeah so true😭
They DO! People are like, "Who hurt you?!"

Roller Soaker still stands as my most obscure credit.
TheGoatHead I honestly kinda miss it, I remember when I walked in the boardwalk and it was gone. Glad three things have taken over the area though.
Me too! I rode it all the time and loved it, although the line was always ridiculously long 😂
@@johnnymarushin2839 I can see why it closed
Rode it eveeytime I was at Hershey. Fun but I can understand hahaha
Same, I remember getting super excited to ride it and drench people
I rode the Flying Super Saturator at Carowinds when I was little. That was always a must ride for me each time I visted the park. It was my favorite ride. I was really sad to seen it get taking down.
Right???? I miss it so much 😢 Seeing Cobra makes me sad lol
@@xPopxTartsxI never got to ride it, was it where the Flying Cobras is?
@@Meatloaf8 Yes!
@@xPopxTartsx that was also where the original white lightning was. Yeah, good times the park looks different after they got rid of the original entrance, at least the south entrance still looks the same. Can you believe they got rid of the water tube ride left of entrance.
never gonna forget the flying super saturator at carowinds. the line always moved painfully slow. even if there were like 10-15 people in line, that was still at least a half hour wait lmao
It was a win win, you were so frustrated by the time you got on, that squirting people below was therapeutic, 🤣
I absolutely miss Hurricane at Boomers. It was such a thrilling ride. It was my first woodie and it packed a punch of airtime. So glad to see it in spotlight here.
Same here, it was a great ride! Excellent airtime and fun layout. I only got to ride it on one visit despite going several years in a row. Towards the end of its life they would only run it when the arcade was busiest, on the weekends/during the summer.
For those who don't know, it was installed at an arcade that also has a go kart track and a few flat rides. It doesn't seem like they had the attendance to justify the running cost of the coaster.
I used to always drive by it with my mother and I only rode it once I didn’t even know to was torn down
Our Boomers shut down. we never had a coaster like that. just bumper boats, go karts, mini golf, an arcade and maybe 1 flat ride. and batting cages and a café. that's pretty much it. I'm gonna miss it, though.
Although i wish we had a thrilling ride like Hurricane or at least a waterslide. that would be so much fun.
Theme Park Crazy, your channel is one of the selected channels that I follow. No cheesy, ridiculous thumbnails to attract the most people. You seem to actually care about the topic and lists that you feature. Keep up the great work!
I live about twenty minutes away from where the Dania Beach Hurricane once stood. I fondly remember marathoning the ride with my brothers and friends during several parties at Boomers. We all swore it was better than any of the roller coasters at the Disney and Universal parks, save for maybe Dueling Dragons. It closed about a year after my last visit, and I've missed it ever since.
I used to pass that coaster every weekend on the way to my grandparents house and always wanted to ride it. It looked awesome! Sad they tore it down before I had a chance to ride but happy it got some recognition
Really sad that the Vekoma Stingray is gone. Looks like it had a lot of potential
Apparently it was CRAZY intense
The flying super saturator was one of my favorite rides growing up, living next to Carowinds. It getting taken out was sad enough, but being replaced by a Vekoma Boomerang made it so much worse. Such a unique and fun ride
Flying Super Saturator was so much fun at Carowinds. I wish it wasn’t replaced with the boomerang coaster.
I live 45 minutes away from Hershey and used to ride the water coaster all the time! I always thought it was pretty fun. Although you were right about the lines, it was always ridiculously long
As a kid, there was a Wacky Worm type kiddiecoaster (without the turn table, mind you) in our local amusement park (which was entirely closed more than a decade ago), and I always wanted to ride it everytime we went to the park (good thing my mother is a rollecoaster enthusiast). It was my first "rollercoaster" experience as a 6 years old, and I remember loving going through the giant apple.
I'm from NC and rode the Super Saturator back in the day with my Mom...I remember that she was savage with dumping the water! Great video and wish I could've rode em all
Thanks for mentioning Dania Beach Hurricane. Living in S. Florida, that was the closest coaster that I didn't have to drive 3-4 hours for. A well beloved coaster to many.
Journey to Atlantis is my favorite ride of all time! There’s just something about it from my childhood! It may not be the tallest or scariest but damn that’s a good ride
I didn't know they'd taken it down
I’ve been on the baby one in San Antonio and I love that ride, one of the staples of that park.
@@bezoticallyyours83 I don’t think they took it down last time I was at I think it was sea world I forgot but I’m pretty sure it was there

There is still a spinning wild-mouse coaster at Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. It’s been re-named The Tickler but it seems that the track and cars are the same. It was one of my favorite coasters as a kid
I rode the Carowinds water one! It was absolutely fun, and the theming was fantastic. This was circa 2006. Rode it twice and it was actually great ride-wise, unlike the reports people give. It wasn't dramatic but given the fact that you were battling people on the ground with water guns, it was amazing to a twelve year old. Since Carowinds operates a water park AND an amusement park, which IIRC sit one on each side of the NC/SC border, it was a fun way to combine the two sides, even though it definitively sat in the water park half of the park. It might have low re-ride value to adults, but the kids?? The kids LOVED it. And as a kid who didn't do so well with big drops... it was a fantastic option.
I got my wife on the Space Diver at Six Flags over Georgia in 1991, she cussed me out for getting her on it , but I will never forget that roller coaster, great memories! We also rode the Ninja and she destroyed a $300 pair of ear rings on it, ah memories.
Ninja was so awful. Apparently it's better as Blue Hawk now.
I'm so glad I had a chance to ride Flying Super Saturater! While you waited in line they had water cannons where you could blast the riders. It was so much fun
I got Roller Soaker on my credit list. Once with water and once without water. (It was a cold day)
Me too lol
Same
I always wish I could ride a Virginia Reel. It looks like so much fun!
I have a video somewhere my Grandfather took of a really old Coaster on a Cine camera decade's ago. I might upload some footage if I can get it.
I've ridden Tyrolean tubtwist at joyland and I don't know if because of how the ride was maintained but it was quite rough. So I imagine a bigger one would of been way rougher
I remember I rode the Intamin Space Driver at Six Flags Magic Mountain. That ride was painful and really jerky. It was quick and fun but you would end up with a light headache at the end. It didn't last long at the park, they took it down after a couple of years in operations.
Just like a phoenix, this video has risen from the ashes once more!
The funnest part about the Super Saturator at Carowinds wasn't riding the coaster but blasting unsuspecting people that were standing in line with the water guns.
8:54 Just a year after this video was originally made, another Air Launch coaster would open in the US, in this case Maxx Force
And Setpoint would later sell another suspended coaster to a park in Malaysia
I remember riding on the Flying Super Saturator at Carowinds back in high school in the early 2000s, and I waited about 2 hours to ride it! The Carolina Cobra (boomerang coaster) now sits in its place.
There may be no dumber concept in coaster history than the space diver
It was not as bad until it was relocated, the multiple cutting-and-reweldings couldn't have helped it at all.
I have both Setpoint credits. There was the fun factor of dumping water on guests, but they could shoot back at you too with on the ground sprayers. There were two major problems I saw with the ride 1) It took a while for your tank to refill, leading to low capacity and 2) Once you dumped your tank, the fun was over if you hit someone or not.
That Virginia Reel looks amazing! I feel like Timetraveler is the modern version to this personally, even if the ride cars are quite different
Happy to see the water ride at Hershey Park get mentioned! I use to ride that all the time during the summer. Literally rode it nonstop the year it shut down. Had such fond memories of that water coaster.
6:32 my favorite hockey team and my favorite NHL logo.
I know the perfect roller coasters to add to your failed roller coasters playlist: the rambunctiously rough Drachen Fire, and the most famous failed coaster of them all... the Son Of Beast!
Thank you for featuring my music
And thank you for your free use background music 🙂. It has really helped my channel over the years.
AH the setpoint suspended roller coaster is my CHILDHOOD!!! I used to go to Carowinds a LOT when it was owned by Paramount and the ride there was one of my absolute favorites!! I rode it practically every time I went with my dad and cousins!! We loved it so much and we'd almost always use the spray guns below the tracks to spray the ones on the ride 💖💖💖💖
I never thought Carowinds would be anything to brag about istg. It was absolutely fun when I was a kid since it was always a family thing (my dad, grandma, aunt, cousins, and I would always get season passes and go almost every weekend)
It’s sad that the Vekoma Stingray was gone, it had a huge potential
The park that had the Stingray coaster also closed permanently.
Flying Supersaturator was a TON of fun. I waited in line for it for about 3 hours one time 😂
I rode Roller Soaker in 2012. And after riding Candymonium today I now have a credit surplus from Hersheypark.
The Super Flying Saturator!!! I absolutely loved this ride. I remember the trigger only actually working in the really early years.
I’ve Been on the wild mouse and I loved it

That Space Car coaster looks horribly painful. There's a reason Anton Schwarzkopf pioneered the teardrop shaped vertical loop. A near-perfect 360 degree circular loop can put up to 10 G's on a person as they go through it. That's enough to potentially cause internal damage to a human being. I wish I could say that I'm shocked that only China would have such a ride.

I have fond memories of riding Flying Super Saturator at Carowinds back in the day. It was a great ride! The boomerang that's there now is fine, but it doesn't have that novelty value to me.
This video gives me a group project kinda vibe for some reason
The Thunder Eagle Trains, running gear and braking system are being used on Zippin' Pippin' in Green Bay Wisconsin
I rode a wild mouse just two years ago at the fair!! It's one of my favorites simply because you DO feel like you're going off the track during the turns!!
i went on it from the fair to it left me a bruise but it was fun
This is the reason i actually hate wild mice. Often, they are also rough.
Why was the steeplechase not included? I actually went on it Pirates World in Florida.
The last Steeplechase still exists at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The Pirate World Steeplechase is an awesome credit to have; a vintage Steeplechase straight from Coney Island.
I love how the voice and audio quality abruptly change at number one
Because this video was originally made about two years ago he just changed the ending
@@not_an_emo I know just saying
I got to ride Buzzsaw back in 1999, and then was back in the area again in the early-mid 2010's for college. Powder Keg is definitely a much better coaster, but at least I have the semi-rare credit of the liquid coaster.
Hey Theme park Crazy, when are you going to do the top ten Roughest coasters?
The way you transition from the liquid coaster to the Virginia Reel is hilarious because of how many people have angst toward Blitz coasters and are unaware of the challenges that are posed when making a mega or hyper coaster.
Omg i read the "that you can't ride anymore" like that debunked video with "top 10 banned coasters that you can't ride anyone"
There still is a Grand Canyon ride at the „Bayernpark“ in Bavaria. It‘s a bit smaller, because it’s an inside ride, but you can still ride it

I've actually been on a wild mouse roller coaster. In my childhood city in Germany, there was a nearby public space where Octoberfests would setup each Octoberfest season. These would feature not only a large "Beer tent" (basically a large dining hall tent filled with tables, benches, and concession stands), but also theme-park-like attractions and the occasional rollercoaster. One such roller coaster took you through about 3 completely horizontal "stories" of tracks with tight turns that felt like you were about to go over the edge and the occasional dip. This was probably around 2015, and although designed very compactly so that it was easy to pack up and move, it operated the same as the one shown in the video.
Also funny how the wild mouse ride is in this video even though there's one mentioned at 10:00 that still operates.
Me too, 3 days ago

The Wild Mouse coaster I use too ride was at Quassy in Middlebury, CT.
I was there on the last day when Vonkaputous operated for public :)
I love roller coaster and have been an avid fan since my first trip to Cedar Point as a young child in the early 90s. I say that because your youtube channel is the only one I subscribe to regarding roller coasters. Your videos and lists are great! Keep up the awesome work! Stay Safe!
i rode roller soaker in 2009 and waited in line for AGES
Been on both Thunder Hawk at Dorney Park (since gone but same design) and the Roller Soaker. Gotta love it.
Hersheypark in Pennsylvania still has a wild mouse so #10 isnt actually extinct
He's speaking of the Ben Schiff Wild Mouse. There's one left standing and one in storage. Both might operate again. Hershey's is a modern Wild Mouse & there's lots of them all over.
When I was a kid , we had two different roller coasters at the Kentucky State Fair . They were the" MAD MOUSE" and the "WILD MOUSE" . My favorite was the "WILD MOUSE" as I think it was higher than the "MAD MOUSE" . The curves were the scariest ! Those were definitely the best fun days of my youth .
Flashback at Magic Mountain was so fun ! (Intamin Space Diver). I rode it summer 2001. Albeit being rough (but smoother than nextdoor Viper) it was quite intense, original and very fun.
Im just happy they kept my favorit part from buzz saw and it was only made better by powder kegs boosted speed and smother ride. Its a down hill bank to the right at 70mph and its just pure perfection in that short moment.
Wooow i rode z force at great america man those were the good ol days...
I have three of these credits. I rode the Z-Force when it was at Great America. I rode Roller Soaker at my one and only visit to Hershey Park. I also rode the Dania Beach Hurricane on a visit to Miami the day before boarding a cruise.
I rode the the dannya beach Hurricane when I was a kid it was my first credit
11:40 .... Why hasn't a modern coaster done this yet?!? O_O (Have sideways seating). The laterals would be absolutely freaking INSANE!!!
I won’t lie, that Stingray looks like the best Vakoma coaster ever
I’ve heard it was SUPER intense
Most certainly one of Vekoma's best ride types (esp over SLCs, Boomerangs, etc)
I would love to see B&M come back with the Space Diver. I mean, Walter and Claude did help create the design when they worked for Giovanola. I'm sure they could improve on the original using their current design standards. And relocating the original ride several times was a major factor in the deterioration of the ride due to dismantling and rebuilding the ride, weakening the structure
Or they could also use trains with clamshell lapbars or over the shoulder vest restraints if they did their space diver
Fun fact: The wild mouse isn’t dead! In Brooklyn’s Luna Park, the Tickler is a wild mouse! ua-cam.com/video/Jug9uhnXQ8E/v-deo.html
Edit: Ohhhhh... they remade the wild mouse! Ohhhhhh!
Edit 2: OH MAW GOWD! HOW MANY ROLLER COASTER ACHIEVEMENTS DOES BROOKLYN (MY HOME) HAVE!?!?!?
This is a different model though... In the video he sais that the old model inspired many new wild mouse coasters all around the world. For example, here in Germany, at the local fair that takes place once a year, we have a wild mouse too. It's crazy, feels like you're about to fly off the turn when it turns at the very last second. It's built slightly different than the one he shows in the video though.
Oh wow...Z Force. I remember that one. I actually really enjoyed it, but then again I have a bit more 'padding' than most.
I too loved the Z Force in Gurnee Illinois
I love Hershey park🤤
I’m a year and a half late, but the Suspended catapult coaster is also extinct. Only one of its kind was ever made.. and it was removed in 2019. I miss Volcano the Blast Coaster so much.
My new fetish: Victorian gentlemen riding roller coasters. Somehow their hats never fall off.
That's not a fetish, more like an obsession. But I get it, you want points for being quirky so here you go

Oh wow, I've actually ridden that worm at Karolineland the one time I was there.
The park itself is gone now, so I apparently managed to get in a few years before.
I went on that space diver at Magic Mountain as Flashback & I have to say I genuinely thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm so glad I got to ride a one of kind coaster.
I hadn't known that history about the Switchback. I was familiar with the Pennsylvania railroad due to having dated someone who lived in Summit Hill in the 90s.
Conneaut Lake Park's Ben Schiff Wild Mouse has long been rumored to be in storage with plans of re-erecting it as finances allow. There is a Ben Schiff Wild Mouse in Cache, Oklahoma at defunct Eagle Park. I've inspected this coaster recently along with it's owner because two parks might be interested in purchasing, moving, and running it. It's the last known standing Ben Schiff Wild Mouse. My point is you say they're "long gone" and this is not true. Two other Wild Mouse coasters that are operating at Lakeside Amusement Park, Denver, and Wonderland Park, Amarillo are almost exactly like Ben Schiff Wild Mice. They're exceptionally fun, too.
