ESP Edwards E-LP-130CD John Sykes Les Paul with EMG pickups and less chrome

- The discontinued ESP Edwards E-LP-130CD in the John Sykes colour variation with a couple of modifications like EMG 81/66 brushed chrome pickups is a nice surprise. I was expecting it to be good, but not that good! It is a no brainer for the asking price but I suspect that the prices on the used market will go up.

I just ordered one of these in the JS model. I will change out the poker chip, pickup wrings and maybe the pickguard. But Im leaving the exposed Duncans. I also like the chrome parts on black. Yours looks very nice 👍👍

@@TexAgsArmyVet you have to get them from Ebay or off Reverb. They have both new and used. New ones will run out soon because the rumour is that Edwards won’t be making Gibson copies anymore …. I’m not 100% convinced of that though.

I just played the non-Sykes model on Tuesday, the shop had two blacks ones and a white one. I'd rate them mid-tier quality. Very playable. The neck was chunkier than expected, but I'm used to Jacksons and strats. It had witch hat knobs. I'm considering getting one because I don't have a fixed bridge guitar and I like the LP Custom look. I do wish it had a nitro finish though, so I'm looking for a real LP Custom to compare it to. Not sure if that is worth triple the price...

Edwards just upgraded/updated their line, now the guitar model is E-LP-CTM JS, comes with Edwards picups and is MIJ! \m/
I just bought an ESP Edwards E-LP 125 SD Gold Top . I've been researching Edwards guitars since I've owned other ESP guitars, and can confidently recomend ESP products as pound per pound , affordability, quality and sound , one of the best brands currently in the electric guitar market . If you can afford an original standard Gibson Les Paul ,go for it. Yet an affordable option at great sound and quality ,ESP and Edwards are my recommendations .peace all
I have never been able to play an edwards but do you have any comparison to the Epiphone Les Paul Custom in terms of quality?

I bought the normal version (non Jon Sykes) new few days ago. Cant put it down. Might turn it into a metal machine by swapping pickups
What do you have in mind for the pickups and which colour did you get?

@@firdaus125 I had a couple of bareknuckle sets, they are great. I am not a big fan of Fishman :/
Edwards brought these LP replica models back again, but they don't have Duncans anymore, instead they come with some ESP/ Edwards designed humbuckers.
Another alternative, if you want a LP Custom style replica guitar, would be the Sire L7 models.

Edwards are made in line with the E-II line. Blanks are CNC'd and assembled in china, then finishing, fretwork, and wiring in Japan. It seems like a dumb process but it has everything to do with the import costs of wood in Japan and this process somehow circumvents some loopholes

I bought one and its a total crap. Reallly dark and muffled sounding, lacks bite. I compared it to my buddies gibby custom and there is nothing to compare, the gibby shits on edwards. Even my old SE Tremonti is wayy better. I may try changing pickups for actives in hope it helps the tone. Maybe i just got a lemon, dunno :/ .
