  • As I get closer to the first start on the new engine, I want to upgrade one last thing. Upgrading the fuel pump now only makes sense so it's one less thing to do if I decide to add e85 to the mix or a bigger turbo sometime in the future. Below are links to parts/products I use, I do get a small commission from these links that help support my channel but the price stays the same.
    Fuel Pump: amzn.to/324awk3
    Fuel filter and gasket: amzn.to/3mhxkDH

    Did you have any problems with higher fuel pressure at idle after replacing it?

      I haven't had any issues with higher pressure.

    Congrats. Getting so close to being ready. Those fuel line clips can be a PITA to disconnect. After struggling with some cheap parts store tools meant to make it easier, I saw a tip about using the smooth ends of zip ties inserted under the plastic retainer on each side of the clip that works just as well for me.

      I'll have to try the zip tie trick sometime thanks.

    hi, i came across your video while looking for the location of the fuel pump sensor on my forester, i have a P0004 Fuel volume Regulator - Circuit high, is the sensor in the connector in the video or can yo7 tell me where to look ?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  Рік тому +2

      That's a generic code that could lead to a number of things from a faulty regulator, pressure sensor, or ecu. You would need to find someone local to you with knowledge of these vehicles to help you find the problem.

    What year is your xt ? Mine is 2009 Forester xt turbo stock, will this fuel pump work ?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  6 місяців тому

      Mine is a 2006. This same fuel pump should work, however, 2009 introduced the SH Forester so there may be a difference I'm unaware of.

      It is a different pump from 2009 to 2013 foresters, the deautchwerks dw65c will fit

    Where did you get the fuel line tool? I’m changing my filter and one line pops off easy but the other just won’t budge.

      You should be able to find them at any auto parts store.

      @@DIYEVERYTHING I only see the tools for the lines under the hood. They get pushed into the retainer. Not something that fits over the clip. Got a link or pic? I should probably just take it to the shop..:(

    Did you notice any extra noises or wish you would have done the hose and filter while in there or anything else after thinking about it? About to do this on mine, figure do it once and do it full on so don’t have to go back in to replace stuff. Appreciate the video! 😎👍🏻

    • @DIYEVERYTHING

      No extra noise, not that I would hear it over the exhaust anyway. I would have replaced the filter but it looked to be in good condition and, at the time, there was a 6 week wait to get one. When all is said and done, it runs with no problems and is ready enough to replace the filter in the future. Thanks for watching.

      @@DIYEVERYTHING good to hear bud, I’m about to install and more once spring hits. Looking forward to updates and how the rig is doing! Make some more videos! 👍🏻 Curious too about the 50/50 center diff and if you are throwing codes or seeing any problems with that on the 06 FXT.

      To date I have had no codes or issues with the VTD or any other parts other than a wheel bearing. Been very happy.

      @@DIYEVERYTHING another question. Want to change the springs, have a stiff ride. It has SWIFT lowering spring, want standard, what would you use, Kings, Moog, Lesjofors, Pedders, RalliTEK ??? PRT ?? Thank you

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  Рік тому

      @federicocerbonim7654 If you want a softer ride then swift springs, you may as well go back to stock because none of the others will be any softer.

      @@DIYEVERYTHING I just change tires from an unknown chinese brand that came with the car to Toyo TR1 in 225/55-17. Much better ride, and softer. Anyway I had ordered from Advance Auto P. 4 OEM springs (MOOG). Lets wait and see.
