    I have tried Hoka in the store but never thought enough of them to buy a pair. It’s always just been too much shoe for me. The Rocket X was the closest I have come to getting into a pair, but it was a very strange fitting shoe, being very narrow and straight lasted. Well along comes the Transport X! It doesn’t t seem to have a lot in common with the Transport line, which is more hiking and trail oriented. So let’s get into it…

      Thank you so much for the kind words. Lots of reviewers are great at reading what they are sent. I try to go from the viewpoint of a designer who is a lifelong athlete-which I’m both. It’s difficult to stand out in the hype and media production of it all, so I just do it for the love of it. Thank you again 🙏🏾

    I’ve been looking at the Transport GTX as my first HOKA. I’ve pretty much stayed with the Saucony Shadow series for the most part but this new GTX caught my eye.

    I’m going to get a pair of these for Lawn Bowls. Most Lawn Bowls shoes are based around a walking platform. The super flat sole is a great change up that makes this work for that sport.

    You're literally the only person that review interesting yet functional shoes. Im a 200lbs runner. So far the only shoe that works for me is the Prime X Strung. Would you do a performance review by any chance even if its a 3 mile run? I am really interested in these for commuting to work

      I really appreciate that 🙏🏾
      So you’re asking about a performance review of the Prime X Strung, or these Transport X? I can tell you, these Transport X’s are phenomenal! Easily the most overlooked shoe on the market right now, because Hoka mis-advertised them. They are literally a do it all shoe. I’ve done a morning workout of intervals and plyos, coached that same day where I put in nearly a half marathon of walking and jogging around a track meet, and then wore them out to dinner that evening. They don’t even make sense being this good!

      For me it’s better than any On shoe below the Cloudmonster level. The cushion and support are top tier.

    I'm not a runner but im a super active guy. I always look for cushy sneakers because I need to take care of my lower back. I'm going through some PF with heel spur now and the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 have been the best in mitigating my pain. I'm looking for some other thick and cushy soled kicks and hoping these Hoka Transport X fit the bill.

    • @RDQLUS
      @RDQLUS  6 місяців тому +1

      They are a bit less plush than the Nimbus, but their thick midsole and rocker geometry are as good as any shoe I’ve worn. I recently went on a vacation full of walking and hikes and these were the only shoe I took with me. Faired brilliantly and never once considered any foot fatigue or discomfort

      Easily the most overlooked shoe on the market right now, because Hoka mis-advertised them. They are literally a do it all shoe at a high performance level, while they are marketed at a low level pedestrian shoe for the casual fitness. I’ve done an morning workout of sprint intervals, jumps and plyos, coached that same day where I put in nearly a half marathon of walking and jogging around a track meet, and then wore them out to dinner that evening. They are well worth the price point as (3) great shoes in one. My favorite shoe of the past two years, not even close.

  • @groc4234
    @groc4234 Рік тому +2

    Beautiful shoe, but the thin sole turns me off, looks like those would wear very quickly
    I would use these only for more formal occasions, don't think the sole would hold up that long for people that actually run

    • @RDQLUS
      @RDQLUS  Рік тому +5

      I’ve gotta say, I’m finding the opposite in part; you are correct for longer mileage, but I truly think they are mis-marketing the shoe. I have been in mine 24/7 for a week. I’m clocking about 5-8 miles each time I’m coaching, my running workouts are about 1600-2000 meters 2 days/wk, an intense plyo session, and a full speed sprint session, then I lift twice/wk. that sole is actual rubber (not sure if it’s Vibram or Continental… Hoka is typically Vibram) and it’s going to hold up nicely. If you’re a miler or marathoner? Yeah, maybe you’ll get some wear. But it’s legit. Put it like this… it’s actually as thick or thicker than the soles on the Adidas AdiZero lineup (Adios Pro, Takumi Sen, etc) and the previous versions of Nike ZoomFly and VaporFly.
      The marketing for this shoe is telling us it’s just light walking and everyday runs, but this shoe has worked itself into my hardcore rotation as a sprinter/jumper type. The looks are more street because of the way they heat-molded the foam, but it’s every bit an UltraBoost Light or Saucony Endorphin Speed equal in comparable construction.

    What's different between this clifton 9 ?

    • @RDQLUS
      @RDQLUS  Рік тому +1

      There is absolutely nothing “Hoka” about this shoe, so in answering what is the difference between this and the Clifton 9? Everything! The Clifton line is a Hoka flagship in look and feel, the way it performs. The Transport X is an experiment in creating a fashionable platform of value in which you can take a shoe day to evening (maybe not night), wearing only one pair to do it all at a decent level but nothing to a super high level… they failed because apparently their idea of only being pretty good at everything was to perfect an UltraBoost better than adidas ever did. Hahaha! I sincerely wish I had said that in the review. 🤣
