I work a 10 h night shift at a elderly care facility. I easily get down about 5000-10 000 steps a shift. Before I used to wear som fancy pancy running shoes a shop clerk talked me into buying. Still after almost every shift I was close to tears because my feet were hurting so bad. Bought the Hoka Transports at a sale and I think these are the best shoes I've ever had. For the first time my feet aren't sore after my shift. I do have quite slim feet, and I see how theese might not be good for anyone with wider feets. But for me a 10/10, would recommend for anyone working a job where your on your feet for extended periods of time.
@Mel-wz8gu The Hoka sizes are a little different alltogether. I usually wear a european 36 in shoes, but for Hoka I have 38. Regarding the slimness of the shoe, I would say that they are as slim/wide as a normal pair of running shoes. If you're uncertain of your size, try them out in a shop and then get the deal online. That's what I did:)
I got these in all black and I've really enjoyed them. Not as breathable as I would have hoped but they're getting a ton of wear. I should note as well I'm in the 35+ demographic, so take that with a grain of salt.
Great review - thank you! I just bought these after trying them on in the store. I had avoided Hoka's because I didn't like the big profile but these have a sleeker profile and I really liked them. The only problem is my started throbbing a little bit after going for a walk in them and I realized they are too narrow! So thanks for validating that. I will take them back and get the Cliftons in a wide.
Great review, it helped me make my decision! I agonized for over a week about whether to buy the Hoka Clifton 9 or the Transport shoes. Tried both of them at REI and walked around the store extensively. Finally, I decided on the Transports. Even though I found them to be slightly firmer than the Cliftons, their cushioning was still excellent, and oddly enough I preferred walking around in the Transports over the Cliftons. I am more into power-walking & hiking and do not really need running shoes. The Transports fit the bill for that and are awesome & stylish daily-wear shoes as well.
I would 100% get these if they were available in wide. I’ve got Clifton 9s that I wear at my warehouse job 12hrs a day 8-10k steps and they’re the best shoes I’ve ever owned by far.
From what I know of Hoka Trail lineup, it's the Challenger that they say is the Clifton of the trails. The Speedgoats are the more famous ones and for more technical trail runs.
I don't know the Challenger model, but I am very loyal to the Speedgoats, and run Spartan races on mountains (so muddy obstacle course racing, up and down hills). They are in the top 2 for Spartan racing shoes, for most recommended models. Will check out the Challenger.
thanks for this! just bought the transport for my japan trip. wish they had a goretex option on these for a bit more weatherproofing but i read they do have some form of water repellency treatment so i'm sure that's enough.
Let us know how that goes! I am planning on buying a pair for my partner for our Japan trip too. Did you size up? (in anticipation of swelling feet - due to excessive walking)
just got back from my trip! these shoes were absolutely amazing. 20-30k steps every day and i barely felt my feet hurt. foot onsens were also super amazing for the on the go feet rehab (if you can find them i nyour area- i was in the mountains so they were very common) i didn't size up and had no issues with swelling at all but these shoes made me realize my feet are slightly different sizes which did cause some heel lift in the break in stage but after they were broken in and tied down tight it wasn't an issue.@@blackiemokona
Hi. I’m late to the party as I’m in the market for a shoe which can handle travel and walking 15,000 steps a day. I’m 35+ 190 pounds Eur 45 shoe size with a slightly broad front foot. What model of Hoka or ON would you recommend. Thanks for the help :)
Just FYI, one huge flaw (to me) is that if you want to switch to the laces, you cannot ever go back to the boa lace up system because you have to cut/break the boa system to remove it. So dumb. Also, runs hot. Not good breathability.
@@a1naruth I get that you can buy replacement lock laces. Of course you can do that. The point is that Hoka could just as easily provided a locking system that was truly interchangeable. They didn't. Tha choice was stupid.
I have wide feet so I tried a size up (12) from my normal size (11.5 wide) and everything fit perfectly except I had so much heel movement. I then tried an 11.5 and the toe box was pretty snug and my heel still slipped. Gonna try and exchange for Clifton 9s since the heel looks more supportive
I love these shoes. The only problem is when you tighten the laces they are way too long. And there is no way to shorten them without cutting. Really annoying!
These shoes really hurt my feet, shins and calves. I ran in them and walked my dog in them a few times and couldn't figure out why they were so uncomfortable. I think that it may be the stretchy toggle laces. They flex with every step which stresses my leg and foot muscles. They also run a half size too big for me. So, regardless of the interchangeable laces, I'm going to return them. Sad because cute water resistant sneakers are hard to find.
Hi, They are “water resistant” per Hoka’s main website. I looked into these since I was wondering the same. They also offer the “transport X” model, from their website it doesn’t mention anything about this model being “water resistant”
Could you please tell me if you know of a hoka that has a large toebox. I have a wide right foot due to surgery., I do need a rocker bottom shoe. I'm sure hoka doesn't have a level 3 but even a level 2 would be great. Thanks😊
Not sure why the comparison between Clifton and transport Transport is not a running shoe, it’s a casual shoe with that classic stiffer forefoot, great if you like the ride of a Hoka or if you suffer from arthritis in the toes or plantar fasciitis
i tried many of Cussion Shoes and the Hoka Clifton and Bondi was the most uncomfortable Shoes i ever weared. Something is wrong with them. As if they skew or not straigt.
Hey, thanks for the review, I asked for a review on the hoka transport a few weeks ago. I also got the exact color 9.5 and yes, they are snug, a wider version would be better for me. The sole felt a bit strange for me, but I liked the shoe laces system. After I compared these ones to the Nike invincible run 2 , I prefered the Nikes because they’re wider and more comfortable.
Bought the Anacapa's Low with the gore tex and after about month and a half they started to rip from the sides. And the vibram outsole got really worn out. I am not that impressed.
Are there any other new models from any brands that you guys would like to see me review, leave a comment and let me know!

Hi! From your experience are they true to size or should I go size up? I’m afraid they will be too tight 😭

10k steps is nothing lol
Are they nonslip? I'm a nursing student, and I'm wondering if I should buy it

I bought the same one today.
As a person who’s on his feet majority of the work day, very comfortable

This sneaker collection, a mixed of everything. I love it.
How do you switch the quick-toggle laces?
thanks for this! just bought the transport for my japan trip. wish they had a goretex option on these for a bit more weatherproofing but i read they do have some form of water repellency treatment so i'm sure that's enough.
the site says "Topically applied PFC-free water repellency treatment"
Let us know how that goes! I am planning on buying a pair for my partner for our Japan trip too. Did you size up? (in anticipation of swelling feet - due to excessive walking)

Sir, your review about these Hoka pairs are very impressive...🤘
How did you achieve that kind of lacing in the transport? I want to make it shorter it annoys me

Often the lock at the end has a clip which can be reused
@@a1naruth Huh? This one cannot be reused.
@@hobbs2005 I haven't seen these Cliftons, but locklaces which can easily be found online, have reusable clip

Would you say that these are actually water-resistant? I am a healthcare worker and I'm needing shoes that will be resistant to liquid.
These look comfortable and for long work jobs, I'll definitely try to have them if are available here
Can you do a video of how to tie secured but not too tight for running? Thank you
All it needs is some gore tex, since cordura is only tear resistant, not water resistant.
When might you be doing top vacation sneaker?

Very nice color combination and they look comfortable

what mileage do you get from clifton 9?
I'm wearing Hoka Clifton 9 UK8.5, should I get UK9 for Hoka Transport considering the shoe is much more narrow?

Maybe try a different model
they have high heel drops if that's what you meant, if it's skewing inwards/outwards, maybe it's your foot pronation?
Hay this review is very well done shoes is all good
Nice pair
Love these sneakers
