Wow he’s so young and what a culture shock this whole experience must of been for him. He’s so mature and adventurous. He has a truly interesting story.
Coleman, it shows in your demeanour, your poise, that you have a good foundation already, that you're in good hands, and good on you. what a privilege to be, as a westerner, and so young, initiated in such a profound tradition. to see such places open in Europe would be something...
There are some Ayahuasca retreats in the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Sweden. I haven't been there but it's worth checking them out. Although i'm very disappointed with the prices of those retreats, both in Europe and South America. They're all asking thousands of euros just for a few days, and that's without the cost of the trip, food and other things. They charge like a luxury hotel. I don't think this is right, especially for ''spiritual people''. This shouldn't be a luxurious thing, it should be humble to allow everyone to heal themselves. Most people go there to heal and gain insight, knowledge and have a spiritual experience, not just to party and get high. You wouldn't expect greed from those people.. I understand it's not easy to deal with the laws and importing the substances, hiring care-takers and renting places for customers to sleep.. But it doesn't seem worth so much money, i would feel guilty paying so much money when i have other things to pay for, it would be selfish of me. I bet those guys get rich on this. Also i would be wary of scammers, fakes and phonies. If i went to a retreat i would research everything about them first. Not everyone who pretends to be a shaman/guru is actually a real shaman/guru, and the substances they use should be safe.
Coleman explained everything very well!! Are you really "stuck" if you enjoy where you are and gaining so much knowledge? 🤔 Take care, be safe! And absorb. ❤🙏
Coleman is such a good speaker, so passionate in the flow. Great articulation. Arkana sounds like a blast! I would love to visit Peru and go there!! Thanks for sharing Dakota.
Great to see brother Coleman on one of your videos! So much wisdom and knowledge for a man his age, really rather inspiring!! Dakota, I was there with Arkana the week previous to you at both the jungle and the sacred valley locations, would’ve loved to have crossed paths with you, but hey all in due time I’m sure, either way what a small world sometimes.
It was really nice to finally hear from someone I can relate to on this. I was a nieve 18 year old when I went to Arkana. I got home and didn’t know what to do with my life and reached out to Soltara to volunteer while they were setting up. That never came to be though. I think about Arkana all the time and hope to be able to return some day to really work with the medicine. I really need to go again..
I have been working with wachuma for a few years.. wachuma is very powerful, you get very strong visuals, sometimes visions, wachuma sings songs and talks to you as well.
This is very insightful, thank you Dakota for bringing awareness to the plant medicine in these times when it is needed more than ever! I did want to add, to keep in mind that the Shipibo are not the only tribe that uses Ayahuasca, there are shamans in Shuar and Santo Daime traditions as well. While I do not reccommend drinking at that Kentucky Ayahuasca retreat, there is a retreat in Florida that has trained shamans and traveling ones from multiple disciplines come through there to lead ceremony. It is easy to fall into the trap of believing that simply because a shaman is indegenous, or from Peru that it makes their intentions pure or validates their shamanic practices more. Beware the brujos! Love N Light my dear friend!
I really appreciated this podcast video and all of Coleman's information. You can tell he has a lot of respect for the medicine, ceremony, and tradition. It's so important for viewers to understand they can not just take medicine a few times or even a few hundred times and then start to run ceremony. These ways come from a long line of wisdom. It takes an indigenous person from the lineage of the region to properly guide people through ceremony. If not, then it can be very dangerous. Anyone who thinks they can just start running ceremony is blatantly arrogant and should be called out so as not to hurt anyone. I really like hearing Dakota and Coleman's conversation and sharing of perspectives and experiences. I'd love to see you two do more of these.
Just a quarter of the way thru this talk... It's soooo good 🤯. I'm almost 20, too (birthday is May 16). So it's really cool to see someone my age with such insightful words. I can't wait to go back to South America. I'm Ecuadorian but I've grown up in Colorado. I'm going back to Ecuador in August to do research and conservation work with Reserva: Youth Land Trust and was hoping to try to live with the Awá indigenous people who are near the reserve that Reserva: YLT is fundraising to buy and protect from deforestation. I'm hoping to learn how to live in the wild and document the knowledge of this tribe and hopefully other tribes in the future. I'll likely never return to a western society's university and instead learn by traveling more through South and Central America. Who knows, maybe I'll join the Mckenna academy one day... you and Coleman should look into that as well. I love what you do, Dakota, because you listen to the indigenous knowledge. Knowledge on these plant medicines that has been growing for thousands of years... That's what we should be listening to! The most important people on this planet right now are the ones who are still physically and mentally connected with biodiversity 🙏🌎☮️💚
Hope it went as well as you hoped? Would you mind sharing some insight into what opportunities there are to do what you have planned please? I have experienced a strong pull to help understand and protect the Amazon and the wildlife and people who have been custodians for thousands of years.
plants have very strong vibrational field that vibrates from their leaves every leaf has its own individual rhythm pattern lsd has shown me this multiple times once it was so powerful coming from every tree and plant at the same time buzzing and humming and singing syncing with visable vibrational frequency feilds that were overlapping and flowing right into my third eye it gave me a feeling of great joy
i was the first to like❤️ i love you and my inspirations have changed for the better because of the different things i’ve seen through you and other vloggers. thank you so much
Fabulous conversation between you two. Thank you for sharing with rest of us. Even though this is a couple years old, I've just heard it and subscribed.
It sounds like a real technique for living the vision of the songs and ritual. It seems like they have a real bank of this realm, sort of like a necromancer, and I think the whole world will benefit with some extra tools in their basket for those spiritual experiences after still gaining whole world wisdom having techniques or complexions of state of being.
I'm totally waiting for a part two after the super moon ceremony, as well! Great video Dakota and I got to say this is up there as peak content for me here on youtube and I'm logged in here since 2007 :D I solely mention this to give my words a little context. I felt very connected with Coleman so thank you very much for sharing his presence and, quite literally, making the best of it! I felt a calling to the offer with Tom & you. It's even totally doable in my current position in life from a "logistical standpoint". But I decided against it after giving it more thought due to "knowing"(Intuition) that I have to do certain work before I can progress in the psychedelic realm again. (After watching this video I understand that the curanderos would've guided me through it) And then C happened and now it's cancelled anyways so I took this as confirmation that my time will come! And my intuition to not book was right. I just wanted to say, after watching this video, that I feel maybe a trip to Arkana for me isn't a matter of "if" anymore but rather "when"! Just not now. And in this context: I loved how you both talked about the groups always seemingly working out together in their constellation because of "more or less the flow of the universe" and that really reassured me that, when I will be there, I will be able to help others with my presence and shine my light onto them, and that people will shine theirs for the times when it'll get dark for me... Greetings from Germany!
Dakota, Thank you so much for sharing your amazing adventures! You are living the dream! Coleman, Thank you for sharing the Good, Bad & the Ugly of visiting the jungle. Good stuff to know! May God bless you both! 💖
wow didnt even realize i watched this for an hour. thank you for recording this conversation between you two. i felt almost like i was in the room with you guys. it was very refreshing to hear about these medicines rather than the big pharma drugs that are flooding the media at the moment
Hey Dakota, you guys talk in the video about the similarity between shamanic and meditative traditions. One thing you also talked about was the "experience" of being eaten by a snake, which is said to be a very good sign of deep healing. Well, I know that both Swami Sivananda and Swami Muktananda from India talked about the dream of being bit by a cobra, and that that would be a dream that signifies great spiritual auspiciousness. I found those visions and interpretations strikingly similar.
Really loved this episode. Just chilled out and did some animation work with this in the background. Can't wait for plant medicine to come into my life when the time is ready
My plant teacher of choice is the mushroom, specifically cubensis aka golden teachers. The spirit of this mushroom and I have been through alot together and have started to forge a bond, its almost as if the spirit tested me to see if I could handle it by revealing its more frightening aspects and by making me face my own inner darkness and misconceptions, like it needed to see if I could defeat my own darkness and fear, or if I would break. After a month or so of horrifying (yet enlightening) experiences, I began have amazing experiences with this same spirit, I have been shown the nature of so many things, I have experienced realms of pure living light, I have opened up aspects of myself I had closed due to fear, and have released much of which I had been holding and cast away many thing that had attatched themselves to me. Now this spirit and I have been working on the path ahead of me vs getting myself to the point where I can do the work, it has been amazing and more awakening than I ever could have guessed.
The chanting at the beginning of the video is really powerful, it just blew my mind away, it's like really enchanting. Could you just, make a video of these kind of chanting for 5-10 minutes. Just for meditation, really divine sounds.
Wow, your conversation gave me answers to questions I have been looking for so long! Such a faithful God send was this "randomly" found video! 🙏💖 Instant follow, Dakota! 💓
Could you do a video where Coleman describes what these spirits look like and you describe to him the spirits you or other people have met? Would be cool to hear from an experienced person as to whether what we have seen was energizing or draining. I had an experience where beings that looked like greys (more silouhette, vibrant, and had a very loving caring energy, seemed very high tech, were telepathic) and they performed a surgery on my brain, took something out, replaced it with something, felt like it was a fresh new part of my consciousness freed of all my insecurities, doubts and stagnant aspects. Brought me back to the flow as soon as the experience faded away. Perhaps Coleman could tell us what that was about! Many people have had such surgeries on DMT.
I miss you bro, i had great time in arkana past month right before the close airport i got home. Easily i could be stuck back with you, a matter of a week. Great to hear from you. Moran
!! Has anyone ever dieted a mushroom? and if so an Amanita muscaria possibly? Could be an interesting take on a Soma mentioned in the Vedes perhaps? Please more on the different diets they have done and the all the different plants - cannabis?? .. love ur channel .
Enjoyed the last two videos. Mescaline is pretty incredible, cool to hear you talk about it. I can picture taking it for days being great because it already lasts so long. Best body feeling out of anything else swim has tried and the headspace is nothing short of magic. Making the best out of being stuck haha. You make possibly the best content out there around this kinda stuff. Out of curiosity do they smoke or consume pot at Arkana?
Gracias. infinite gratitude and respect for madre ayahuasca my protector mother friend. This video warmed my heart. I just love madre and miss the ceremonies. you all reawakened my longing to one day be with the medicine again. Coleman thank you for your stories and shared wisdom. Dakota thank you as well.
Sacred space within myself Earth and sky, light and health Blessings of the Goddess shine Bring me to thy love Divine As above, it is below Now peace and love around me grow. Be I Witch, Faery, or Elf Sacred space I call myself.
this form of podcast seems so natural organic and chill, so happy dakota that you do this for us!, a very fresh perspective of ayahuasca shamanism from the inside. please do more of these, i really enjoy learning about shamanic experiences.. if you get around to reading this would love if you ask a shaman their thoughts on cannabis?, i would love to hear a shamanic perspective regarding cannabis
Thanks for the reply! please do another podcast I heard that many shamans see it as a jealous needy spirit that wants to keep your mind all to itself which explains you saying that it clouds it from experiencing ayahuasca
This was such an amazing magical podcast thank you for sharing 🙏🏼🧙♂️Coleman you are so mature for your age and have so many inspiring stories to share! I experienced Ayahuasca for my first time this past summer with a Maestra from the Shipibo tribe she traveled for her first time doing a ceremony outside of Peru and came to my friends land in Buffalo, NY it was an amazing healing experience so beautiful yet intense. Terrifyingly beautiful 😂 I was taken to a place of consciousness so far beyond our realm it was like absolute total unity consciousness but even beyond just that I don’t know how to explain it in words but felt I experienced eternity and I forgot all about human life for a long long time. I was just some type of god like being in a web of infinite energy for eternity. And somehow I started to remember human life and I began to really miss being alive in this realm. And eventually coming back to my body it felt so amazing to be human and in that moment I realized how truly divine the human experience is and to never take it for granted again. I realized to the importance of the balance of consciousness. There’s a reason why there’s duality and everything flows in waves. We can’t always be highly conscious in fact it’s an experience I thought I wanted (like this total enlightenment state) but when I was shown a glimpse of that I was like so this is boring what’s the point of knowing everything 😂 and so the balance between total enlightenment and completely unconscious is where life dances 💃 ☯️… my first day with the medicine I had a less intense experience but still really intense. I was on a cosmic operating like table (for lack of better words) and 3 hyper dimensional beings made up of energy ran around the room checking on everybody in the ceremony. They reminded me a bit of a lizard like entity they had tails but it was so hard to perceive them with humanly senses because they were beyond our realm (dimension) so it was impossible to fully perceive them. But the 3 of them came over to me and my body was frozen in sleep paralysis and they operated on my body like a machine. It was a whole energetic surgery they literally reached in my body and moved a bunch of energy around and they reached into my face and pulled it apart like a cosmic slinky. And I remember feeling so much strange pressure and energy moving when they were doing this. They reached into my arm and my arm began spasming and twitching. It was a big “asana” -challenge of trust to let go and surrender to these beings but I eventually did fully despite my fearful mind. After this surgery I felt extremely healed, balanced, calm, no thoughts. And this state of being carried on with me for at least days but I’m sure it integrated with me long term. It was a very strangely healing experience. On my trip I also met the divine mother or Mother Earth several times presenting herself in different archetypes such as Kali for example or a female serpant or the jungle itself even… very strong profound medicine. I am thankful. I feel stronger and more grateful in my daily life and much more easily to accept and surrender to the unfolding of life 🌊
You wear the cutest outfits.😍 I've heard that we should not be doing Ayahuasca in groups because everyone's spirits get intermingled with each other and that can muddy the experience. Why take on other's trauma if you don't have to? Thoughts? P.S. The symbol of the goddess is a snake. Grandmother Ayahuasca is a feminine spirit. Mescaline is thought to be a masculine spirit. Coleman reminds me of River Phoenix. He's so calm and beautiful!
The difficulty of a foreigner like myself authentically participating in a traditional plant medicine ceremony is alot more complex than people may think, traditionally the use of plant medicines by people is just one small aspect of a much larger tradition and all encompassing way of life, a complex system of religious beliefs and other spiritual practices, on a continuum from more exoteric to esoteric, certain ethical and moral principles, various rules and regulations, different social roles and duties, a knowledge of and connection with all other members of the tribe, usually from birth etc, a whole particular mentality, psychological and emotional that has developed and been cultivated by these particular people, etc etc etc, so it was very different for them as one could imagine compared to someone like me from the west who may come in and stay for a while then leave. what i am getting at is that a commitment to the tradition and way of life would seem to be a prerequisite for its participation i believe, a conversion to use a different type of Language, ultimately an initiation that is for life and implies one is going to seek god following that particular mode of following god with all that the tradition implies otherwise there will always remain this sense of one being a tourist in a way, just hoping to come in without any true lifelong commitment and have an experience, it has this materialistic western consumer feel to it, just happens to be in regards to spiritual things uno, its like spiritual shopping, but i believe the commitment and the sacrifice that a proper engagement with spiritual/religious things implies is one or the most important parts of the effectiveness of the whole thing and determines the degree of benefit one may get from the ceremony uno. Because if you look at all of history and mans spiritual/religious searching and way of life then it os always the case that only one particular tradition is followed by any given individual, individually or culturally they commit to one way of life, one religion, one path etc and follow it to the desired goal which is the attainment of an experiential union with god, in fact it was so important that different paths to the same goal not be mingled together or one person not practice two ways that there was many restrictions in every culture existing to guard against this, this is where we get what is misinterpreted now as a bigoted exclusivity in religion in relation to how it sees other religions but in reality it is just an attitude that had to be taken for the protection of each religion which is whole and complete in itself and can lead man to the same end as another one, when two paths are confused and joined tho then it may destroy both because they are so radically different in the mode in which they do things that they externally appear not to even have the same end in sight etc God bless brotha
Yoo Dakota is that Arkana in Peru!? I recognise the ceremony room a bit but the poster COMPLETELY! I tripped for 3 days on Aya with that poster burned into my mind, I later found it was the 'dharma dragon' by Android Jones and just recently in my trip to Bali got a full arm tattoo of it :D. The thumbnail made made me bolt upright lol, been watching you along time dude, love your content!
the 10 ceremonies in a row part was interesting. I've done 4 so far and nothing has really happened but vomiting . I also seemed to need double the amount of the rest of the group ...... Looks like I'll just have to keep going haha ...Same goes for DMT . 3 big hits , and despite the room being crazy geomotry , I can get up and walk around as normal, just like on Aya.
The experience Coleman is gaining as a volunteer sounds soo amazing. In a scenario where Corona doesn't exist, I also would be a volunteer at a shamanic retreat center in Ecuador for one month. So sad about it but I am sure that everything happens for a reason.
The rainfall in the background set such a mood 🌧 Magical.
Coleman has such a deep message, what a clear presence to experience, thank you for sharing Dakota !
Also recently purged w/ kambo, enojyed your experience you shared :)
I feel like you are stuck here for a divine reason 🙏🏽
Zoe Loka I agree
Yessss i was thinking the exact same thing, divine timing
Not stuck at all 😉
Yaass! To give us this perspective 🙌
Wow he’s so young and what a culture shock this whole experience must of been for him. He’s so mature and adventurous. He has a truly interesting story.
"drinking mescaline pretty much everyday" now thats the way to live
also quite a toxic existence for your liver...

😁😅
Coleman explained everything very well!!

One of the best uploads on Ayahuasca I have seen (Ive done Aya 13 times in the jungles of Peru). Awesome job Dakota and Coleman 🙏💖

“They may not come with the right intentions but they come to the right place” wow just wow...proof that everything is alignment 🙏💫💖
I love how he said the tribe can attack with light. You are such a beautiful heart and soul. much light and love

Instant follow, Dakota! 💓
Man I didn't want this to end. I could have listened to you guys all day.
this video came at such a great time i was peaking and his chillness calm my shit down
Could you do a video where Coleman describes what these spirits look like and you describe to him the spirits you or other people have met?
Moran
I hope you both do more podcasts together before you leave, it's so interesting to listen to you both together. :)

The sun came out here at home at the same time as it did on the video 🌞 Thank you for this interesting video!
this form of podcast seems so natural organic and chill, so happy dakota that you do this for us!, a very fresh perspective of ayahuasca shamanism from the inside. please do more of these, i really enjoy learning about shamanic experiences..
if you get around to reading this would love if you ask a shaman their thoughts on cannabis?, i would love to hear a shamanic perspective regarding cannabis
They don’t like cannabis and think it’s clouds your head from ayahuasca. Other traditions like Santo Diame will smoke during ceremony
Thanks for the reply! please do another podcast
I heard that many shamans see it as a jealous needy spirit that wants to keep your mind all to itself which explains you saying that it clouds it from experiencing ayahuasca
Dreamtime I’ve never heard them say that. They still consider it a teacher - but it just doesn’t work well with ayahuasca.
My favorite episode of your podcast by leaps and bounds 🙏❤️🙏
I feel stronger and more grateful in my daily life and much more easily to accept and surrender to the unfolding of life 🌊
You wear the cutest outfits.😍
I've heard that we should not be doing Ayahuasca in groups because everyone's spirits get intermingled with each other and that can muddy the experience.
This is my favorite discussion from your channel 🙂
Because if you look at all of history and mans spiritual/religious searching and way of life then it os always the case that only one particular tradition is followed by any given individual, individually or culturally they commit to one way of life, one religion, one path etc and follow it to the desired goal which is the attainment of an experiential union with god, in fact it was so important that different paths to the same goal not be mingled together or one person not practice two ways that there was many restrictions in every culture existing to guard against this, this is where we get what is misinterpreted now as a bigoted exclusivity in religion in relation to how it sees other religions but in reality it is just an attitude that had to be taken for the protection of each religion which is whole and complete in itself and can lead man to the same end as another one, when two paths are confused and joined tho then it may destroy both because they are so radically different in the mode in which they do things that they externally appear not to even have the same end in sight etc
God bless brotha
Yeah fellow skateboarder! Bless both your journeys. If you ever visit Spain be welcome at Yoga community Om Shanti near Barcelona..
Great podcast, it expanded my worldview a lot and explained certain useful magickal elements
What an amazing practice, its so fascinating,
Also, i LOVE the picture in the background, amazing energy coming from it 😍
Ready for part 2 after the ceremony like y'all said!✊
Awesome, you guys should do more videos together. It seems like you guys were just chilling and the sound of water behind is really relaxing.
Thanks for sharing ❤️🙏🏼 Awesome video.
Can't think there's many better places to get stuck in isolation than Arkana. Just seems like a chill and loving place
the 10 ceremonies in a row part was interesting.
Good to hear from you, my dude.
One of the best places to be stuck i reckon. Thanks for sharing such information 🙏 Namaste 🙏
Such a beautiful insight of shaman practices and introduction lecture to Ayahuasca...Thanks Dakota!! ♥♥♥♥☻
Awesome. I look forward to coming there someday... I need to take psychedelics in the jungle before I die.
This is great. You should do more with him about more of this stuff.. This is really valuable information
what a great place to be stuck... my Country Peru..the most connected, mystical and spiritual place to mother earth
The experience Coleman is gaining as a volunteer sounds soo amazing. In a scenario where Corona doesn't exist, I also would be a volunteer at a shamanic retreat center in Ecuador for one month. So sad about it but I am sure that everything happens for a reason.
Beautiful
Thank you Coleman and Dakota
This is an awesome vid, and just a peek into the shamanistic culture. Thank you for making this Dakota of Earth. VASTLY interesting.
Coleman is awesome!
Sweeeet, hope you guys talk about San Pedro in this
Daaam man the vibes seem so deep, like i'm really thinking right now to go to peru meet those guys, live in brasil.
