Hell Let Loose: A very immersive game relying on teamwork and quick thinking.
Some dude: “I am back from my piss.”

Well poor brick brain picked a helluvu time to wonder off in the woods for a tinkle.

Except the shooting and movement suck and pretty much every other shooter available is more satisfying to play
Hahahahaha you think everyone play like that funny
Artillery has the strong psychological effect of making you feel like you're losing even if you aren't. Getting pounded into the dirt by an unseen force tends to plummel morale.
I imagine that's how WWII artillery crews were. YES YES YES MORE ROUNDS MORE ROUNDS!!! YES!!!!!!

Lol WW2 wasn't Afghanistan where arty sits around praying for a fire mission. Gunners in WW2 were worked to the bone, definitely not a fun job
So this video reminded me of this story I heard from one of my uncle's friends, a Vietnam vet.
He was attached to a forward artillery observation unit at a firebase where they had what all soldiers have a lot of: Time. So his unit is sitting around the jungle, the whole area had been quiet for weeks, the guys that weren't getting drunk were getting high, and so they decided to have a little wager. They picked out a tree a few hundred meters away from the firebase and took bets on how many shells it would take to blow it away. They called in the fire mission, but after all the shells landed, the tree was still standing. So they call in a second fire mission. Again, all the shells missed. They keep calling in fire missions for nearly half an hour, but the tree is still there. Then they here the sound of a freight train screaming overhead followed by a massive round of explosions down range. They'd called in so many fire missions, someone had routed them to the USS New Jersey, an Iowa class battleship, and it was providing "support" with it's 16 inch guns. At that point, they stopped calling in fire missions. Not because the tree was gone, mind you, but because they finally realized their game had gotten a but out of hand.
About 45 minutes after that, a Major flew in on a Huey to check whether or not the fire base was alright after what everyone not onsite thought was a huge attack. When he found out what really happened, he screamed at everyone in the firebase until he was purple. Needless to say, there were a few dishonorable discharges after that, and everyone not kicked out of the Army got demoted at least on rank.
Holy shit that’s a crazy ass story

Just outta curiosity how accurate is this to that? Like I know this is world War two stuff but is this close?
@@shlushe1050 Most of the stuff is fairly close, but broken down to basic elements. Elevation is pretty close, using mils, but direction of fire is using degrees instead. Real artillery uses mils, because it's more accurate (7 mils for every degree). They also don't have to figure out fuze/round/propellant combinations. Some fuzes are timed for mid air detonation (smoke, illumination, etc), some are meant to detonate on impact, and some are delayed for penetration. Rounds types are pretty self explanatory, if you stick to basic types (HE, Smoke, illumination, etc). Propellant charge is a bit of learning curve, so it's not surprising that it's excluded. Another thing that's excluded is the safety reference tools, such as collimators and whatnot. The game is more structured around direct fire missions, but still doing indirect fire.
Hope that was helpful! :)

loving this. Good arty can literally force an enemy team to just straight up lose. I have been missing this kind of gameplay for a long time. I played BF1942 religiously when it came out. Nothing like it since. Nothing like a sniper laying down coordinates and then me in a battleship offshore and out of sight firing 9 guns over the ocean and onto the objective and taking out the enemy. They would get so mad and send enemy planes after me and I would have to defend. This brings me back. It was not easy to do and took alot of practice. You even had scud missile launchers and artillery tanks in the desert combat mod which got DICE hired in the first place.
Artilley: the god of war
Should try some RO2/RisingStorm/RisingStorm2:Vietnam or Enlisted for something more recent ;) (loving the combined arms gameplay of Enlisted)
Less of "nothing like it since" and more "nostalgia is hard to beat and no games brings as much joy as you get older"
I liked that 2042 brought back some BC2 and 1942 stuff, but was really disappointed with it. it wasn't the same at all for either. I miss those times.

Most radio commands are reciprocated word for word in the field artillery. We didn't reciprocate splash most of the time, but that was a unit thing. It clogged up our net unnecessarily.
@@orion8981 I figured that, just wanted to be sure as for a moment I was confused whether that was called from observer or crew side.
Hey guys we trying to make a video can we use the artillery😂😂😂
Also, a few tips on the arty and the mils:
Per 100 meters = 24 mils
Per 10 meters = 2.4 mils
Per 1 meter = .24 mils
Therefore, if your target is at 624 meters away, you multiply .24 x 24 (24 meters past 600 meters), your mils should be 853 mils to come close to hitting the target.

That looks like it would be a blast. A coordinated team of even just 5-10 men can make all the difference. Working together the work of a 50 can be accomplished by 10.
The sound of artillery guns firing one after another is so satisfying it could be ASMR
There is actually ASMR like that
Artillery Conquers, Infantry just occupies :)
@ We do pt with our damn howitzers...
That looks fun as he'll. Can we get mechanics like that for SPGs in War Thunder?
We partly have throug adjusting the elevation in scope, whats lacking is the "marking" mechanic and dedicated longrange Arty.
I would LOVE to play something similar to this, especially with large caliber beasts like the American 240 mm T92 or modern Howitzers like the German Pzh 2000.
Would be too OP. Just imagen a PzH 2000 which can fire in reality around 10 rounds per minute in a sqade. The next problem where the marker mechanic. I mean will you just make so that everybody in a squad can see how far it from the target, will it mark the target or only the area around it and also in towns it would be way to OP because the enemy has no chance to escape or fire back. It's like planes vs tanks but even more unfaire plus at hightier with artillery spotting all arty would just camp and waomit until the other one fire.
Eric_The_Viking the Justin Y. version with an axt
It wouldn’t be too OP. Artillery sitting back, hidden away, as soon as someone gets a plane, roll in and take out the artillery. Since most Artillery will be open top or lightly armored, it’s balanced. Just like the PG 02. Cancerous, but balanced.
Arty would be quite effective against tanks but completely helpless against anything that flies, therefore requiring air superiority to survive.
If they wanted to slightly nerf it anyways, they could make arty spawn at different and further away locations inorder to decrease its accuracy.
I see only the problem of enjoyability as you can only sit there with little feedback as to where you shells landed or how it looked, but for that a screen similar to the killcam in the top right corner showing terrain and affected, friendly tanks but nothing else could be the solution. This could be limited to when a tank with good spotting capabilities like light or medium tanks are in range to spot and "transmit" the information about the hit, encouraging teamplay and usage of light tanks to spot.
I could go further into details but its already way to long so I'll leave it to you to imagine.
You know I hear a few people saying that light tanks don't have big enough guns to kill some of the tanks in war Thunder. So if they gave the light tank some kind of marking mechanic like this so that they could coordinate with an artillery gun that would be pretty dope.
Wow... thanks alot for this golden content to watch phly.... sooo good

I want to get this game but will it survive a long time and be worth it?
This looks like yet another one of those games where you spend 20 minutes walking to the frontlines only to get zipped by someone camping in a bush 800 meters away.
As of now yeah your right, but you can deploy command stations which allow Squads to re spawn closer to the front line. In the future we will get half tracks, support vehicles, other tanks, armored cars, etc. This game will most likely be the one of the best WW2 games if not the best, after everything on the Dev Road map has been implemented. If you want filler on everything that is coming look up the dev road map for HLL
Maximum battle length is now 90 minutes. In 20 minutes you can circle the whole map.
Also if squad leaders are decent then they'll build outposts and garrisons which means you get back to action in seconds rather than minutes.
Nothing more beautyfull than the sound of friendly field artillery
King of battle baby! This was a sick video!
Awesome vid. The only problem is that when you fire artillery in real life, you want to fire all the weapons at the same time. Reason being that the combined concussion of all the shells landing at the same time is much deadlier. Artillery is known as the king of battle. And the impact concussion kills more enemy than shrapnel. An army colonel once told me that shrapnel is just an added bonus. Not sure if the games metrics use this or not, but that's how it is in real life.
Can you play the P-26 at max BR?
That was pretty cool, would love to see more like that in the future.
