I could have an entire truck load of plumbing parts sitting in the yard and I still always be that one part short to finish a job. Glad to see I'm not alone. Great video.
I’m retired and 70. My mother’s family were farmers as I grew up, but she married and moved to the city. Can’t help but think how much I would have enjoyed being a farmer. As of today, only one of my cousins still has a presence in crop farming. God Bless you and your family. Your testimony rings loud and clear!
Same here. Stopped in a little cafe in farmland North Dakota. It was packed and quiet. No politics, just farm and equipment talk. It was like the rest of the world didn't exist. Loved it. Actually marveled at all of them. They had never heard of the Kardashians..
One of the most beautiful healthy and happy Holstein herds you will ever see. Eric you know i speak cow so i know how happy they are. I overhear them discussing their love and appreciation for you and your dad often!! What a great job and service y'all do for our beloved America.. Thank you !!
I am always impressed by how handy you and your dad are for fixing, repairing, installing so much that needs to be done without having to call various plumbers, electricians, welders, etc. to come do the job for you. And it is always helpful to have some extra (Craftsman) light available on the job. Thank you for all you are doing on the vids to show what is involved in dairy farming. May the Lord continue to bless you with good health and helpers.
You are very at ease running the day to day operation. There's never any time off unless you leave the farm for a mission trip or vacation. It's truly a pleasure to watch you, your dad, and the people that help you, care for the cow's the way you do. Stay safe.
It's real nice to see young people taking interest and getting involved with farming. Us older folks are usually happy for the chance to share our knowledge and appreciate the help. Great video, all your herd looks good and are getting the best from y'all to produce well and stay healthy. Thanks for sharing, have a great week!
Eric, I think it truly is great when manufacturers provide alternative solutions to help out. The brush cup seems interesting. Hope you will let us know whether or not it was a working solution, or just a cute, do not get again product. Great having friends to help out. Hope your Dad has safe trip.
You do a great job taking care of your cows. You must enjoy it because you never seem to be bored with it. Makes me wish I was able to come work with you for a week. But I would be more of a hindrance than a help.
Eric man one day you will be the one taking the vacation and your kid the 11th gen will be doing the same thing you just did great video man you are a definite boss man God bless and stay warm
Another informative video Eric. How great that your dad can leave to serve others for a week & know that he can entrust you with the Farm (business) & all will be good when he’s back. You’ve got a great work ethic Eric. I notice often as you did in this video, that you don’t assign all the manual labour to the hired hands. You take your turn too. Fonzie(sp) drove, you ran the shovel. Take care
Love your videos my uncle has a nice dairy and I live on a dairy that used to be my grandpa‘s and we still have cows but it would be very cool to make it a dairy again and it’s always fun watching what I could learn from you
We have the same pump thats inside your foaming unit, in our door entry floor foamers at work. We are forever replacing them because they constantly fail, hopefully you have better luck with them than we do. Love the videos!
Thanks for the nice videos. If the second foamer runs a longer distance, goes through more hose than the first it will have slower output. One way to solve this is to run the mixture through a loop or circle. Then have each output (dipper) the same distance from the loop. Thanks again. Also, I think you probably have some of those brushes the cows can use to groom themselves. Video of the cows doing their self care might be fun to watch. Cheerio
Great camera stuff. Look after your family. You do anyway. I'd love to work for you lot. Pity I'm in the UK, but don't matter anyway. If I was over there, I'd work for you lot for nothing. 👍🏻 All the best.
how we know eric is a true farmer, the leather sheath for his vise grip worn on his belt, never known a farmer that couldn't fix thing with bailing wire and a pair of vice grips
Eric you and your dad have one of the cleanest dairies I have ever seen around and it seems like you never have any problems moving cows and heifers from bldg to bldg at all. Do you use anything in your pits to make them more liquidity. How many calves do you usually get a month ? So you sell all your bull calves but do you put all your heifer calves in a pool and take out when needed and then sell the rest. That's kinda like what we did when raising gilts as we had a pool of 100 - 150 had to pick from than we sold what was left after a 2 month period and then start all over. Cuz we introduced gilts 6 x a year. After a pig is process cut tails and teeth and iron shot and we would notch there ears on the gilts or put a small round tag. And the baby male pigs we would castrate from couple hours born up to a day old as it isn't so hard on them. I used a pair of wire cutters and only make one hole. My son who was 3 would help me catch them so it went alot faster and I paid him for helping me and he bought a mustang 2 years before he got his temporary license.
I wonder if I'm the only one who waves goodbye to the cows that are being sold? No one...just me...ok. LOL Hope you guys stay safe with the storm coming!
All that work has to b done every day of the year year in year out sundays Christmas day New years it's a hard life I did it for 40 yrs great video as always 😎
Ever think about Lely milking robots in your barn? They would fit perfectly in your barn and with the amount of cows you are milking. Save a lot on labor cost and you will probably gain in milk production. I’m a Lely technician in The Netherlands, where the Lely robots are all invented. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Great vid Eric...your dad will owe you two bottles of chocolate milk when he gets back...you're doin' such a fine job! And kudos to him for helping his fellow man(women too)... Ya' ll are great people and dairy farmers! Thank you for milkin', feedin' and fixin'!🍶🍨🍦🐄🐄🐄🐃🐄🐄🐄🐂🚜🤠
Is their away to block the snow from blowing in from roof top like shutters during winter time and opened during spring , summer , fall closed up during winter but leave the doors up about about two inches to have air blow in.
I don't know if you have done a full video of the complete milk collecting process because I am sort of a newish follower but would you mind making a video of that?

@@thereissomecoolstuff Farmers ( especially dairy ) are way too busy and tired to worry or care about the Kardashians and their nonsense.

With your Dad away doing good things and your workload increased…. you still took time to post a video. Know that it is much appreciated by many! 🙏🇺🇸👍
One of my daughters gave me a 10th gen gray cap for Christmas. I love it.

Your dad's lucky to have someone capable like you to take over.

Great work to cover for your Dad! Enjoy watching
The hardest working guy on UA-cam.
Got to admit, you make me want to be a dairyman but it's too much work for an old man, I'll leave it for you and your family. Excellent job!
Another great video Eric. I hope all the viewers appreciate all the extra work you put in to provide these high-quality videos!
Nice soft beds for the cows 🐄. Always good to see new things

Awesome cows. You, Dad, and employees do a wonderful job. God Bless
Boy you work hard, Great video 🇬🇧
Great job taking care of the farm while your dads away!
Flexzilla hoses have been great for me. They stay very flexible through harsh (Ohio) winters. I use them for both water hose and air hose.
Thanks for the video! Know you have your hands full with your Dad away.
God bless you guys! In Christ!
Nice video it’s interesting watching different jobs of farming
Hi i am matthew from South Africa i watch your video and i love you guys

Merch needs to include a cow 482 "first to be milked" shirt or something. That cow is special.
Thanks for making these videos
Nice video Eric! Love it! Love the parlor and the way its set up!
Always nice to see what you're doing thank you
Been using the classic quick shot dip for 4 years, with really good results. It definitely is good for cracked hands also I've found 👍
Great awesome video Eric

You the man, Thrifty!
I'm not sure what you wear to keep warm but I'm a firm believer in the functionality of Cold Gear Under Armor.

You’re right, but don’t forget the duct tape and chewing gum. 😆

Show us what you eat for lunch or breakfast!!!
The exact thing happened with our pump too a couple weeks ago

Used to do it with cattle all the time never once hurt them it’s actually better to pre clean then to have something cause an infection

I have considered it, if we had more trouble finding employees we would probably put them in. Our setup is working pretty good for now.

Lol perfect comment!
Love the vids! Are y’all seeing the crazy hike in price/limited availability on fertilizer and chemical up north?
Thanks, yeah trying to figure out how to get more value out of manure so we can buy less uan.
@@10thgenerationdairyman61 i understand! Sounds like a smart plan!
using manure spreaders and liquid manure to fertilize the fields is a great option, it helps a lot
Ur v good Eric at farming
Nice video mate
