$7.50 an hour + you get to do arts and crafts, drive cool toys, play in manure, have alot of girls around you (4 legged ones) and you get random chocolate milk. Now that is heaven!
@@Michael-8903 😁 A little yelling is not so bad now, if it's directed at things and not people e.g. if you walk into the house with manure-caked boots, I think it's perfectly okay to yell at your feet. 🙃
Very enjoyable video as always , smashing looking cows 😍. Your very popular amongst our Irish and Uk viewers, get mentioned quite a bit in our comment section. Keep up the good work, great ambassador for farming. 👍
Thank you for sharing your lives with the world!! We live in AZ so I’m sure we don’t drink your milk but we sure do appreciate all dairy farmers and all farmers in general! I am amazed at everything you guys do yourselves!! We love the way you care for your cows too!!
Eric, I think your viewers have a new appreciation for the work that goes into being a successful dairy farmer. Hopefully this will help the overall dairy industry increase their profitability by accepting higher prices for your products.
Next time your using the grinder while wearing a hoodie, PLEASE tuck the strings into the hoodie instead of letting them hang down. BIG safety NO - NO there. If they caught, that grinder would climb the strings to your neck. Be safe, Jeff
File the ends of the all thread rod, it makes them less likely to cut you and makes it easy to get the nut on. Some people use the side of the grinder wheel, but on a cut off wheel it thins the sides too much and makes the disc more likely to come apart on you.
Salute to the feed tractor. A bit of a camera hog, but what a great machine. Seems like a guy with a welder for a brother would have a purpose build silage scraper. LOL Thanks for sharing, Eric and Dennis.
There not many up to videos about farming or raising livestock but I manage to find your channel, I want a farm one day to be self-sufficient and maybe help provide food for my community and people.
Fast nut tightening, take your drill with whatever you have in it, take a short piece of pool noodle or old pipe insulation and rubberband or tape it around bit. Make sure its tight around bit and can turn in drill. Run that against the nut and it will tighten or loosen fast just reversing direction. Hope that helps next time.
Great channel man. I’m sure there’s other dairy farming you tubers out there, but I like this one. Hard working man, very informative in not too long videos. Keep em coming, and stay safe. I watch everyone. Take care.
Cut the threaded rod with a bandsaw and spin it (maybe 180°) while cutting that will prevent the thread from getting messed up. Obviously do the best with what you got! Haha
Nice idea on the skirting for the special needs pin, also on the all-thread for clamps. Your dad is a great resource for finding ways to help shorten and improve methods on the farm, no doubt from years of experience as well as a sharp mind. Looks like you have a really good compaction on your corn silage. Thanks for sharing, have a great Sunday and week ahead!
Just a comment seeing you work in your shop. Since you guys cleaned it up, it really looks nice and well organized. Great job. Hope you guys work at keeping it that way. Very easy to let it go especially when you are busy but try keeping up with putting things away and sweeping up when done......You guys are really good at thinking on your feet and creative to get the job done.
You know if you round that off take that grinder and just round those edges off and it'll take that burr off then you don't need a nut Just a little machinist trick Just turn the grinder on and roll that treaded rod around it
I love all your vids bro. In case you don't know, your hard work, attitude, and natural 'way' serves as an inspiration to myself and with no doubt, thousands of your subscribers. Don't stop. Peace!
Eric thank you again for another interesting video. Growing up on a small dairy farm in Schaghticoke NY, we haven’t farmed in many years I really enjoy all of your videos.
Another great video Eric. You & your dad are industrious & prudent. I have watched your videos for quite some time, & pleased to have not heard any salty or vulgar language (not even one curse word) not like many other U-Tubers do. I have confidence in turning my young grandkids loose in watching your videos. Thank you Eric & Dad. You’re a class act. Stay Safe & Warm.
I know you probably have a mill file. That would clean the burr off those threaded rod and you’d not have to waste time screwing on the nuts. I made 36 24” rods for holding my welding table tight while welding. I too, did not want to have to thread on soo many nuts….mill file for about 4 strokes on the burr and good to go….thanks for all your hard work and time and love to your animals.
Good thing you fastened the bench down lol. A good way to square those boards quickly is to use your speed square as a fence for the saw, just saves marking.
Hello Eric hope your having a great weekend and your weather is warmer than ours. Have you ever thought about taking your bull calves and making them steers and feed them out and sell them as drug free home grown beef. Basically all you would need is a waterer round bale feeder and a self feeder and isn't there a empty pen at the other farm you rent. I have a buddy who sells drug free beef and your making money and your customers love your beef vs store bought and know what they are getting just a suggestion as Mike on Our Wyoming life are increasing the numbers they feed out this year as there is more demand for home grown beef and jerky they sell through there farm store. Everything in there store is either raised or grown on there ranch along with homemade pies and they have honey also I believe.
I think he's trying to avoid damaging the threads. Putting the rod in a drill might damage the threads and make it harder to thread the nut back on. You can see where he initially removed the nut after cutting the rod there was some resistance as the nut was re-grooving the threads along the cut edge.
Good idea making your own ubolts with threaded rod. When im sticking the nuts on i just stick the rod in a drill. And runa handful of nuts up the rod at the time. Not the safest practice but efficient!
Hey Eric, Adrian Horning here, I used to work for your dad and uncle a number of years ago. My almost 3 yr old daughter Laura loves watching your cow videos. Her favorite part is when you “feed the mommy cows”. I was hoping next time you film mixing feed if you could give her a shout out it would make her day. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Chamfer/bevel the end of the threaded bar and you won’t need to waste time running nuts down the thread. The nuts will slip right on and there’s no sharp edges from a bare cut
“It does help that I am jacked” lmao

The four-legged ones are the best
They never yell at you

💯
“It helps that I am jacked!”☠️☠️ Love the ingenuity!
Your an amazing young man who is taught really well from your dad. Another good one.have a blessed day

Thanks, you do a great job with your channel as well.
Glad you bolted down that work bench.

Dairy on Eric!! 👍👍
The never ending of line projects, maintenance, and chores. I thoroughly enjoy watching 10th Gen.
You really give your cows a good time mix
"I'm jacked." lol
You are so humble that when you try to be cocky, it doesn't match you and it's hilarious.
next time you have to do this 1:30 use a air gun on the edge of the nut and it will spin the nut as long as the threads are good and clean
Who knew a milking cow's diet was so complicated? Not me. Thanks for the lesson Eric.
Loved your humor today !! Always good to be jacked 😂😂🙋♀️
That's why I enjoy farming. if you ain't got something, you just make it. rather than having to wait
Chuck the rod in a drill and hold the nuts with a wrench to move them faster
greetings from Romania!
i m glad to see a real farmer at work!
keep walking!
This is definitely one of those jobs were u will ever be able to get ahead of your work. It never stops giving.
Hold the speed square on the board and use it as the straight edge guide for your saw.
I am constantly amazed at the ingenuity you and your dad have for improving the farm. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
When connecting the boards it would probably be a good idea to use angle iron and run it into the cement wall as well
4:50 you can use your speed square to run the saw up against to hold the straight line while you cut, turns out pretty good.
was about to say myself, but thought surely someone else had mentioned. thumbs up :)
Man you and your dad are some hard working guys. God bless you for what you do.

I appreciate you waving at the machine after it tells you hello.
Eric getting paid $7.50 an hour makes me feel better about being a 10th generation McDonalds worker.
he was obviously joking lol

They call him Jack Armstrong. 💪
you can cut the rod, then 45 the ends with the grinder at the bur.
As long as you grind away the bur the nots will spin right on.
I always thought cows are some beautiful creatures
I love your videos you and your dad work so well together your dad has taught you well you both are such a joy to watch thank you
Thank u for the share. Enjoyed watching.

A little tip hold the square and run the saw along it to keep it square
Great to see you keep refining your barns.
Great jobs guys,,very wise,,also glad you don't have to plow snow yet
I like your shop-type videos. It is so much fun watching your farm. Peace.
Awesome video Eric. I love watching you and your dad fix and repair stuff. Its really interesting to watch. Thank you guy.
I love that your feed wagon always says hello, makes me smile every time.

Could have squared off the boards by using the square as a guide rail for the circular saw.
Please tell us again as you are mixing feed as to what you are putting in it. Thank you. Hope you have a blessed day.
It would be a cool video if you could talk about your plans for 2022 keep up the great work!!!

Little jealous of how green it is there, we just got another 6"inches of snow and it's supposed to get down to -21°F tomorrow night here (NEIA) lol

That is a lot easier to do. Put the treaded rod in your drill and put the nuts in the visegrip. 2 seconds - they just fly on the rod

Silage Scraper still remains undefeated in the most satisfying implement on the farm. Great content as always 8/8

i use a speed square as a saw guide. have a giant one for larger cuts
That red 10th Gen hoodie looking good.
Maybe a heavy plastic tie-rap would work way easier and cheaper. They have some big strong ones. Try a electrical material supplier or McMaster-Carr

I stoped watching manifest (netflix adicting serie) the minute I received a notification for your video!! No regret!
Sou do Brasil, ótimo vídeo !!!👏👏👏
When I cut threaded rod I just round the end off on the bench grinder, no trouble getting nuts on and off after doing that
