watched this video after Matpat announced that he was going to step back, I’m gonna miss him man, he is the face of game theory. I thought this KFC console was a joke but wow it’s actually real and quite innovative. Using the excess heat generated from the hardware to heat up your chicken during a gaming session, which is pretty nice. Truly gives winner winner chicken dinner a stronger meaning.

Pre-orders are set to start on October 20, 2021 and the console is supposed to release on December 10, 2021. I’m honestly excited for it.

Great theory! I only have one problem: I’m assuming that the console isn’t constantly running at full capacity, which means that it probably doesn’t have a stable heat to warm up your food. In the end you’re going to either end up with luke warm 8 bit pringles or flamin hot Cyberpunk cheetos.
But then people will make a subreddit just to compile the most optimal games to play on it for the perfect balance of game performance and food heating.
Then as more demanding games come out, people will start using outdated models of the console to do cooking speedruns.

Normal pc on idle is almost 50 degrees already i’m sure that the cooling solution on the kfconsole wouldn’t be as good as in a mid tower pc so idle temps should be around 60 degrees which is enough for warming fried chickens
i mean technically you could even run basic minecraft at 1k fps, just need to make the cpu/gpu use 100% of their power
If the point is to heat up the chicken chamber, why would they ever idle the GPU or processor? You give the chicken chamber a separate on/off switch and it keeps the system running at max capacity.
at this point kfc is no longer a food company it’s more of an “everything company”
