The strategy of chaos mode is very simple, if you suspect someone is catching on to any of your patterns, start rapidly changing how you talk or what you say every round, becoming extremely unpredictable and undetectable. That is why I call it chaos mode, because you just have to create chaos without any need for thinking to remove any suspicious patterns on yourself.
I agree. I always thought that to beat smart people you need to be as random as possible. Cause smart people depend on predicting or understand your line of logic and using it against you or planning around it. If there is no logic and it's all just a random mess then there is no hope for smart people. Unless they find a way to stop the random act and lead you to follow a line of logic that is made by them so they'd know well how to use it against you.
You should review that IQ thing though. You did mention that trying harder helped people get higher scores. That seems to be a very significant flaw if effort can affect results

I'm so glad you brought up how IQ is not the same as knowing trivia, I have always seen people say they are smart because they know trivia, but I always thought that anyone can go and memorize trivia, and IQ should instead be looked at as how good you are at computation. So glad to see someone bring this up Edit: wow I just looked further and I apparently have a high IQ because I am pretty good at guessing what people are thinking. I think for me, it helps to have many experiences and to recognize how you think about it in order to guess how other people think about said experience.

On the flip side having a high IQ doesn’t mean you’re smart it just means you’re good at pattern recognition. In fact computation doesn’t have anything to do with IQ either it’s literally only being able to recognize patterns quickly, which is computation but there’s a lot of computation that IQ does not test for

I’d strongly recommend reading “The Mismeasure of Man” by Stephen Jay Gould for an example of how “IQ” is really not all that substantive as a scientific idea. The reification of intelligence is honestly a big problem when it comes to actually understand what makes someone “smarter”.
While I have not read that book, I think most people do understand that IQ doesn’t have a huge impact on success. Like MatPat mentioned, it only accounts to about 5% of skill. But so far it’s still the best “test” we have come up with. Other tests like Myers-Briggs (can’t remember the spelling) or fitness tests or, god forbid, school tests, are _much_ less effective than 5%. So IQ is not the best measure of probability of success or even a good one, but it is the fastest. Most people can’t afford to have a team of researchers follow them around for a year to calculate their true potential after all, and even if they could, few people are that patient. They want a quick predictor, and potentially something to brag about, so the IQ test is there for them.

All of a sudden an alien breaks into the ship and kills one of the crew mates and throws the body out and takes their form and identity, which is why the crew mates don’t suspect a crewmate for being a color that was not on the ship before Then the game explains the rest, gotta find that alien before it finds you The cooldowns for sabotages and kills aren’t part of the “story” it’s one of those things necessary for a balanced game
the difficult part of among us is that, when you play with your friends, you KNOW how good they are, but if you are with randoms, you can give the best explanation ever, but if the randoms are dumb, and then they think you are lying, and vote YOU out, and not the person who you explained perfectly

I'm so glad you brought up how IQ is not the same as knowing trivia, I have always seen people say they are smart because they know trivia, but I always thought that anyone can go and memorize trivia, and IQ should instead be looked at as how good you are at computation. So glad to see someone bring this up
Edit: wow I just looked further and I apparently have a high IQ because I am pretty good at guessing what people are thinking. I think for me, it helps to have many experiences and to recognize how you think about it in order to guess how other people think about said experience.

In fact computation doesn’t have anything to do with IQ either it’s literally only being able to recognize patterns quickly, which is computation but there’s a lot of computation that IQ does not test for

I’d strongly recommend reading “The Mismeasure of Man” by Stephen Jay Gould for an example of how “IQ” is really not all that substantive as a scientific idea. The reification of intelligence is honestly a big problem when it comes to actually understand what makes someone “smarter”.
While I have not read that book, I think most people do understand that IQ doesn’t have a huge impact on success. Like MatPat mentioned, it only accounts to about 5% of skill. But so far it’s still the best “test” we have come up with. Other tests like Myers-Briggs (can’t remember the spelling) or fitness tests or, god forbid, school tests, are _much_ less effective than 5%. So IQ is not the best measure of probability of success or even a good one, but it is the fastest. Most people can’t afford to have a team of researchers follow them around for a year to calculate their true potential after all, and even if they could, few people are that patient. They want a quick predictor, and potentially something to brag about, so the IQ test is there for them.

For example, let's take the "A book is to reading as a spoon is to ___" example. You read a book, but you don't eat a spoon. By that same measure, you use your eyes to read, but the logic wouldn't follow under the scrutiny of someone who reads the problem differently. It's an attempt to reify intelligence and attribute a value to it, which while important for scientific data, is absolutely nonsensical. The book argues it stems from a desire to fit within a framework of biological determinism and sociobiology that itself is flawed and unscientific.

It’s very short
So a normal space mission, the crew works hard to get back to earth. All of a sudden an alien breaks into the ship and kills one of the crew mates and throws the body out and takes their form and identity, which is why the crew mates don’t suspect a crewmate for being a color that was not on the ship before
Then the game explains the rest, gotta find that alien before it finds you
The cooldowns for sabotages and kills aren’t part of the “story” it’s one of those things necessary for a balanced game
