I could be way off but how can a destroked 351 end up as a 383 ? I mean, a 383, that's a stroked engine right ?
Stroking --> increase stroke vs destroking --> decrease stroke. I've seen folks destroke an engine to make 'm rev quicker or rev higher 'cos of less rotating mass but you always end up with less cubes instead of more. A Ford Windsor based 383 is a 351 stroked to 3.750" stroke.

We have the brake problem he was talking about on our Chevelle. The cam is huge and the master cylinder is vacuum which makes the brakes awful.

I have been enjoying my 68 Mustang and look forward to driving it more this spring and summer. The car is very quick and sounds sinister when you stomp it. My wife is afraid of it ha ha. I am the owner of this Mustang and sometimes I wish I had kept the turbo for the scare factor alone. This car is more about balance, at least it was built to be. I wanted good power with a solid chassis. I think this works well.

What does destroked mean?
All I claim to know is cool...lol....So google may be a better person to explain this to you...But destoke make the stroke of the piston shorter...more rpm...more horse power....longer stroke....more torque....

+Ryan Marshall The seats are a set of vintage Recaros that were purchased many years ago for a different built. They sit so well, I have kept them and used them in several cars. I think they have found a permanent home in this Mustang though. The next phase in this build is to have Steve Holcomb from Pro Auto Custom Interiors redo the inside to match the coolness of the rest of the car. Thanks!
