Wow, that view was amazing. Feel bad more people are not visiting those areas, as I would love to see them thrive. Thank you for showing northern part of Thailand. The bike ride looks like so much fun.
It’s low season so apparently that’s why everything was closed. In November through January this place gets absolutely packed, mostly with Thai tourists.
I always drive around Samui with my high beam headlights on during the day because you mentioned it once a while ago! Keep up the great videos, really enjoying them. Cheers
I thought about staying there, but it’s low season and most places were shut down. And since I am just writing alone all day long, in the evenings, I like to be around people.
Last January I was in Thailand and we took a van full of friends from Udon Thani to Chiang Rai along that Mekong River route. One of the most interesting routes I have taken in Thailand because I like seeing the remote areas. I think I'm going to do that again this December, but I may rent a motorcycle this time.
I’ve spent years living in Thailand, and never got the chance to do what you’re doing. Now that I’m back living in the U.S., I really wish that I have time to do a long road trip in Thailand.
@@LifewithSerg The sad thing is when the rain stops, the smoke starts and you won't get any blue skies or long distance views like you are getting. But I also hope you don't get caught in monsoons. You just barely beat the flooding in some areas you left in the golden triangle. Really serious flooding too.
I’m really enjoying myself on this trip. It’s definitely been challenging and frustrating at times, but it’s something different when you factor in the crazy weather and the distances I’m traveling.
@aloissvoboda7325 every location is listed on the description. There is a Google maps link to each location. I don’t like cluttering the videos so that’s why I put them all in the description. Enjoy.
Don't worry Serg, you go up in the mountains during the rainy season and middle of working days which is considered the low season for mountains tourism, rains too much with strong dangerous rivers and waterfalls currents and there's the potential of flash flooding and mudslides in the north and northeast region most Thai tourists don't risk going up during the Rain season it's normal during this time. And if this footage shot today then another reason why it's quiet and shops closed there is because it's after long holiday period from 9-12th of August this year shops probably closed for restocking supplies.
I don't know local resorts and shops in Phu Chee Fa are shut down at this time. I was there in November 2019, and there were a lot of people. Sunrise was amazingly beautiful. But I get your point that it's odd that nobody is there!
Berkeley huh, I lived just down the hill in El Cerrito for a while. really enjoyed it seemed pretty quiet. Hey Matt and Lucy, no plans to cross over on this trip. And you are correct, I have not visited any of the surrounding countries while I’ve lived here. I really need to change that.
Pha Dai is a beautiful place but it is seasonal like so many places up here. Many places close part of the year because there are no visitors but reopen during the winter
It’s actually low season so that’s why everything was shut down. I didn’t really expect to see many people there, but I didn’t expect it to be completely deserted.

Those were some of the best roads I’ve encountered on this trip so far
@@LifewithSergever been to Nakhon Phanom as yet, Sarge?
Pretty good biking roads around here.
That place closed down during low season, they will open again around Oct, and peak at Nov - Feb, Lovely vlog as always mate! Cheer!
OK, that makes a lot of sense. I’m still glad I got to go up there and see the views.

Great video Serg as usual Serg! What an awsome view that place had! I definitely would have stayed a night there just to catch the sunset.

I’ve been really fortunate to see some wonderful views. I’m just hoping not to get caught out in a really bad monsoon somewhere.
