Driven By Madness need new Video Brother! :)
@@johnalenwork53 coming on the first of february bro 👌😄
SWEET!!!!
I installed my first set of coilovers ever on my rx8 by myself in like 4 hours. It was very very easy. God bless the rX8
Bless you, man! Whenever I needed a clear video for this car, you were luckily in the mix.
Glad to hear that bro!
You've made me confident enough to go and buy my own RX8 :) thank you!
Nice! I just did my suspension as well! TEIN S.TECH springs with KONI Sport Yellow struts. Except here in 'Murka no one cares about licensing/registering suspension, you just hack your car apart in your own garage and install whatever you want and no one cares :)
Congrats on the kw sponsorship 💯
Thanks bro 😁
Great Mod, don't forget to properly adjust wheel angles because it makes a massive difference, especially on track! I have tried several different combinations, feel free to ask in case you need some tips
Thanks! Of course, thats the crucial part that will make the coilover upgrade worth while 👌 im always keen to learn something from an experienced owner, so feel free to message me 😊
It was about time...!!.!.!. Great video!
Damn right it was about time ;) Thanks!
Extremely helpful, thank you!!
Cant wait to see a video about engine removal and rebuild!
Damn you went all out on these. Amazing mod and worth the few week wait to see what was next. Bet you can’t wait to hit the track now
Thanks man, glad you like it 😄 im mire tempted than ever to hit the track!! But it will have to wait until next year in april sadly, but ill be on the track almost every month 😉
I was actually looking at putting these on my rx8! Look so good!!
Thanks bro, they are well worth the money 👌
@@Drivenbymadness I bet it is! thanks for this video, Definitely helped with making my decisions on these!
@@GustafsonDesigns Just a shame they don't list their springrates. I hope they've gone a little easier on the V3's seen as somebody I know who has them is shaking out his teeth fillings in his Audi...
@Driven by madness Is there any way for you to ask them what the rates are and/or give us some feedback on the ride comfort for street use?
Nice man, I did this mod about 2 months ago and used Hakon Suspension. Great video
Thanks bro, how are you liking you new suspension?
Awesome video!!
Thanks! :D
I bought the Megan racing coilovers. Half the price but they came with there own top mounts. Ready to go, out of the box. I think it's a joke that a company like KW can charge as much as they do and not offer a complet kit.
Sold!
When I bought my RX8 these are the ones i was going to buy. But then I found a racing team was selling a used set of Penske 8300 double adjustables for about the same price.
Nice! So how are you liking the Penske ones ?
Now it'll finally handle like a car :))
Awesome mod dude, they must be a big improvement from the stock ones, next time, try PB blaster on those rusted nuts..... that stuff is great! :)
Merry good 🤓
Thanks 😀
Can you do a video how to make your rx8 so that it doesn't eat the fuel fast
I think u need spacers on rear wheels for better looks or maybe wider wheels. Vid is great!
Thanks man! Yeah, after seeing how my car looks, I'm definitely putting some spacers on!
I love my rx8 but i would never slam it. It needs a little suspension travel! I have my coilovers with 0 preload and max damping front and rear. Kept height as it came in the box. Measured it all. All even =]
I got tein efdc and had to roll all 4 guards and got 25mm spacers,. Havent lowered it yet though
you need wider / lower offset wheels or it looks like a hover craft, you can fit 10.5 in the rears and 10s in the front with 25 offset and it will make your 8 look so much better
Definitely comming, might also be the next mod, cause I cant stand looking at that gap now 😛
Yo dude I need some more videos from you😣
Regular videos will continue on the 1st of february 😄💓
Hi Dbm, great vid as always? Great coils. Wouldn't u consider better rims with offset 31-35? The flush would be great.
Rims are coming this spring :)
what are your thoughts on a bilstein b12 pro-kit?
Do you know what the stock ones are cm wise? Won't lowering it or raising affect the driving and handling of the car? What should an rx8 be at
Great video and great upgrade, although for roughly the same price I would prefer OHLINS instead of kw .
Nevwr heard of ohlings, but I can vouch that kw are well worth the money. Ill have a look at the ones you've mentioned. Glad you like the video man 😊
@@Drivenbymadness I dont doubt that kw is one of the best coilover manufacturers in the world but trust me ohlins is also one of the best and it's Swedish manufacturer
How much lower can u go? How much more space in guards? I want to see it on the ground
Do i need a spring compressor?
Can you actually maintain the standard ride height? The coilovers are advertised as a min 20mm drop on the front and 15mm on the rear.
I did my suspension but there is a clunking noise when i hit bumps, help?
Where are you from? I can't put my finger on it based on the accent... Great video!
What can you say about ride comfort? Compare to standart coil and spring?
Standard is very comfortable. Kw standard setting is stiffer, but still not bad, its good for daily. Kw on soft setting is almost better than original. And obviously kw on track setting is hard, and not the best for daily. But on every setting of the kw, the car handles better than stock
your swap engine name?
Is the 2004 Mazda rx8 a good first car or should I get a 2009 and up version
If you have the money, get a 2009+ model, if not, a 2004 with a couple of reliability mods will also do :)
14:03 that's the gap I have in the rear on mine... on stock suspension... I think it's time to change them LOL... my front has twice the gap you had before the coilovers ROFL... I do have one question though, the extra bottle chamber attached to the KW's, is that their design only? Or should all performance coilovers have them? I don't remember seeing something like that on Stance XR1's for example.
Snoopy25 that bottle or reservoir as it's called is what is needed to have the ability to adjust rebound in the struts. Without it you can only adjust bound. This is why people say coilovers under 2k are no good. But in reality you would have to be a dam good driver to be able to fully realize the potential of having rebound adjustment.
Will you turbo charge the rx8 in future? Or what are your planned mods?
Maybe, i will have to rebuild the engine in the near future, so i'm thinking about it. I need more torque for my drift days, so it's definitely an option.
How about a video on 'what is needed to turbo!?' so much info on rx8club is dated, or in a 100 page thread with rants.
A concise vid would be cool... Actually since stand alone ECU is most likely needed, start off with ECU upgrade while NA that can be used with turbo (Adaptronic? / VersaTuner?) Do all the 'supporting mods' while NA (fuel pump, injectors, etc!)
Have fun, thanks for great vids, btw your speaking presentation is much more livelier (enthused/engaging) nowadays compared to your earlier vids, awesome improvement!
When it's time for a rebuild are you going to keep it stock or do something crazy?
I'm still debating. A turbo sounds very tempting (13b turbo or swap it for a 13b REW), but the bigger issue is making it road legal (very strict rules in my country). Next year i should have it figured out tho :)
Driven by madness certifications here in New Zealand cost $1000 for every mod that isn’t stock. Regardless I say a 1JZ swap would be the way to go!
Random question, but what brand terminals do you use on your RX8?
Random quick release ones.
Can you make a video how to install lambo doors?
I would, but im not gonna install them on my rx8 sadly :/
@@Drivenbymadness why not? I think they look really good and thx for reply
@@Drivenbymadness good decision
You do your length in metric but torque spec in lb/ft?
That way everybody wins ;)
To safely release
*crashes on the floor*
great video man but those stickers on the paint are no bueno
Hey, thank you very much :) I had to put them as part of the agreement with KW.
Do you need an alignment after this?
Yes, its a must
@@Drivenbymadness right ok thought so thanks
Hi Kristian, good day.
It's always awwsum to watch your vids. Love em to bits.
I am currently having some issue with y RX8 FL. Hoping if you could help, or the people in the comments could help out.
Could you help me pin this if it's alright?
I have also changed my coilovers, but to tein ones.
How the decision came into light was that, going through humps, there were noises.
Brought my rx8 to the workshop, and the stock absorbers were due (8 yrs on the road).
After changing, i still hear noises (not the coilover bushes sound) when going through small humps (like those in the mall)
It sort of sounds like a flapping sound.
Addition to that, (before and after the change of coilovers), going through uneven or bad road condition, the steering feed backs some clanking noise, but on the straight road, it's all smooth.
I have changed my bushing for the stabilizer bar, and changed my front link connectors.
The rest of the bushing are in good condition.
The drive is annoying me alot, as the road back home is uneven, so alot of clanking noise.
The noise going through small humps, i can't figure what is wrong, kinda need help.
While for the uneven road clanking sound, could it be the steering rack?
Hope some1 could help me out here..
It is driving me insane!!!
Benji Khoo - did u figure out or fix noise issues?
@@chrislg4519 sadly, no.. the workshop last diagnosis is that the steering rack is worn as they check... have yet to change the steering rack yet.. are you facing the same issue?
Been looking at V3's for a long time but hate the coloring of them... Ended up finder some BC for 40% less with all the same quality and adjustment and better color to match my car
R0T4RY is love This kw set of coilovers is so top level it's not even funny.
@@Ozem_Israel I'm well aware. 2650$ for kw V3. Been watching them for quite a while. They are no doubt one of the best coilovers you can buy. But they are not so high quality that they are in their own league. Other companies make comparable products though some you have to make sacrifices or lose a few options to get a better price. Only a few will match quality and adjustability of kw and then it's a price war which typically are close enough it's not worth making a big deal over.
The ones I found gave up the adjustable camber only which I can adjust in other ways. But that one thing made a significant difference in price
Which is your first language?
Slovenian
@@BK-it6wg Italian is my mother language and Slovenian is my first language :)
@@Drivenbymadness pardon me 😁 thought I knew....
@@BK-it6wg no worries bro 😛 it was not that obvious 😂
1:46 This scared me holy shit
New videos?
Im starting again on the 1St. Of february :)
Jack it on a control arm if you wanna be able to ever take off that ball joint he is telling you to jack it up on
Yea , go ahead , 14 year old rx8 - check , 1000$ coilovers + import tax - check , install cc.300$ - check , drive 2 months - engine blows up - check =)
coilovers that cost as much as the car and use the stock top hats piss me off...
